NCT00113620
The purpose of this study is to determine whether dextromethorphan (Neurodex) and quinidine are effective in the treatment of pain of diabetic neuropathy.
NCT02465320
The purpose of this study is to determine if COL-1077 (10% lidocaine vaginal bioadhesive gel) will be effective as an acute-use anesthetic and can decrease the pain intensity associated with gynecologic procedures using endometrial biopsy as a representative procedure.
NCT00012220
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known if gemcitabine is more effective when given alone or in combination with another chemotherapy drug in treating cancer of the pancreas. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of gemcitabine given alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs in treating patients who have metastatic cancer of the pancreas.
NCT00006029
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients who have relapsed or refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT00002924
RATIONALE: Gene mutations may make prostate cancer cells unable to attach to androgens. This may permit the growth of prostate cancer. Gene testing may improve the identification of patients with advanced prostate cancer. PURPOSE: Clinical trial to study the androgen receptor gene in patients with prostate cancer that is not responsive to hormone therapy.
NCT00003092
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase III trial to study the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating older patients who have solid tumors.
NCT00021697
The purpose of this study is to compare and evaluate the safety of AVP-923 (dextromethorphan/quinidine) for the treatment of emotional lability in ALS patients.
NCT01597050
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, efficacy and tolerability of topical R333 ointment in Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients with active discoid lesions.
NCT00004183
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of capecitabine in treating patients who have malignant mesothelioma.
NCT00005810
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus filgrastim in treating patients who have stage IV prostate cancer that has not responded to hormone therapy.
NCT01325558
This is a Phase I, open-label, multi-center, competitive enrollment and dose-escalation study of ALT-836 in combination with standard of care gemcitabine in participants who have locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD), and to assess the safety and pharmacokinetic profile of ALT-836 given with gemcitabine. The clinical benefit, progression-free survival and overall survival of study participants will also be assessed.
NCT00087399
RATIONALE: Gabapentin may be effective in relieving hot flashes in women who have had breast cancer or who have concerns about taking hormone therapy to treat hot flashes. It is not yet known whether gabapentin is more effective with or without antidepressants in treating hot flashes. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying gabapentin and antidepressants to see how well they work compared to antidepressants alone in treating hot flashes in women who have had breast cancer or who have concerns about taking hormones to treat hot flashes.
NCT01847820
To show that having less qualified personnel (non-Laboratory trained professionals) perform the test yields the same result as if a Laboratory trained professional performed the test.
NCT02314754
To demonstrate non-inferiority of the efficacy of 200 mg mifepristone followed in 24 to 48 hours by 800 µg buccal misoprostol in outpatient medical abortion services among women 71-77 days' compared to women 64-70 days' LMP.
NCT01858480
To evaluate the safety and to determine the efficacy of D-ribose for the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) in subjects who have been stabilized following hospitalization with acute decompensation.
NCT00002624
RATIONALE: Video-assisted surgery followed by radiation therapy may be an effective treatment in patients whose poor heart and lung function make them high risk for standard surgery. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of video-assisted surgery followed by radiation therapy in treating patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer and poor heart and lung function.
NCT00002676
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells and may be an effective treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy and whole-brain radiation therapy in patients with primary central nervous system non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT00003137
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of irinotecan in treating patients who have advanced cancer of the stomach.
NCT02144051
This is a first time in man (FTIM), Phase I study to determine the Maximum Tolerated Dose, Recommended Phase 2 Dose, safety, tolerability and Pharmacokinetics of AZD5312. This is a multicentre study with sites in the United States and United Kingdom. Approximately 90 patients are expected to be enrolled in this study. The study involves two parts, Part A, Dose Escalation and Part B, Dose Expansion.
NCT00027573
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy used to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy followed by donor peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have metastatic or unresectable kidney cancer.
