This phase II, open-label, randomized study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MEHD7945A versus cetuximab in patients with recurrent/metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck who have progressed during or following platinum-based chemotherapy. Patients will be randomized to receive either MEHD7945A 1100 mg intravenously (iv) every 2 weeks or cetuximab 400 mg/m2 iv loading dose followed by 250 mg/m2 iv weekly. Patients treated with cetuximab (Arm B) may cross-over to MEHD7945A (Arm A) upon central confirmation of progressive disease and upon meeting eligibility criteria. Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or intolerable toxicity occurs.

This multicenter, open-label, dose-escalating study will assess the safety and efficacy of DFRF4539A in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Cohorts of patients will receive multiple ascending doses of intravenous DFRF4539A every 3 weeks or weekly. Patients exhibiting acceptable safety and evidence of clinical benefit may receive DFRF4539A for up to 17 cycles. Anticipated time on study treatment is 1 year or until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

This 2 part study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of 12 and 24 weeks treatment with RO5190591 (danoprevir) in combination with Pegasys and Copegus, compared to Pegasys and Copegus alone, in treatment-naive patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 virus infection.In Part 1 of the study, patients will be randomized to receive either 1) RO5190591 300mg po every 8 hours, 2) RO5190591 600mg po every 12 hours, 3) RO5190591 900mg po every 12 hours or 4) placebo, in combination with standard doses of Pegasys and Copegus. If the safety and virological response data from Part 1 of the study are supportive, in Part 2 patients will be randomized to receive either 1) RO5190591 300mg po every 8 hours or 600mg po every 12 hours or 900mg po every 12 hours or 2)placebo, in combination with standard doses of Pegasys and Copegus. The anticipated time on study treatment is 24-48 weeks, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

This double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, 2-Part study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics and safety of RO4917523 in healthy Japanese and Caucasian volunteers. In Part 1, healthy Japanese volunteers will be randomized to receive 2 oral doses of either RO4917523 or placebo, with a washout period of 21 days between dosing. In Part 2, healthy Japanese and Caucasian volunteers will be randomized in cohorts to receive either RO4917523 or placebo orally daily for 14 days.

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel arm study will assess efficacy and safety and the effects of taspoglutide on cardiovascular events in patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease. Patients will be randomized to receive either taspoglutide subcutaneously (sc) 10mg weekly for 4 weeks followed by 20mg sc weekly, or weekly sc placebo, in addition to background anti-hyperglycemic medication and standard of care treatment for cardiovascular disease. This 2 part study will assess the safety, tolerability and efficacy of a combination of oral daily RAD001 and intravenous 3-weekly R1507 in patients with advanced solid tumors. In Part 1 of the study, patients will be enrolled sequentially to receive 5mg by mouth (po) RAD001 daily + 16mg/kg intravenous (iv) R1507 every 3 weeks (level 1) and if tolerated, 10mg po RAD001 daily + 16mg/kg iv R1507 every 3 weeks (level 2).In Part 2 of the study, patients with 1) advanced renal cell cancer and 2) advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors will receive the maximum tolerated dose regimen from Part 1 (5mg or 10mg po RAD001 + 16mg/kg iv R1507). The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

This 4 arm study will compare the safety and tolerability of HCV polymerase inhibitor pro-drug in combination with PEGASYS +/- COPEGUS with the standard of care therapy of PEGASYS + COPEGUS, in treatment-naive patients with CHC, genotype 1. Patients will be randomized to receive 1500mg or 3000mg po bid of HCV polymerase inhibitor pro-drug + PEGASYS, 1500mg of HCV polymerase inhibitor pro-drug + PEGASYS + COPEGUS or PEGASYS + COPEGUS for 4 weeks. All patients who receive at least one dose of study medication will receive open label PEGASYS + Copegus for an additional 44 weeks after the 4 week experimental period. This randomized, multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study will assess the efficacy and safety of lebrikizumab in patients with asthma whose disease remains uncontrolled despite daily therapy with an inhaled corticosteroid and a second controller medication. Patients will be randomized in a 1:1:1:1 ratio to receive double-blind treatment with subcutaneous lebrikizumab ("highest", "middle", "lowest" dose) or placebo every 4 weeks for 52 weeks, in addition to their standard-of-care therapy. This will be followed by a 52-week double-blind active treatment extension. The anticipated time on study treatment is up to 104 weeks. There will be a safety follow-up of 24 weeks after the last dose of study drug for all patients.

This study will determine the maximum tolerated dose, safety and pharmacokinetic profile of R4733 (RO4929097), administered orally to patients with refractory metastatic or locally advanced solid tumors. The study will assess three different dosing schedules; in one schedule R4733 will be administered 3days on/ 4 days off, in another on days 1-7 of each 21 day cycle, and in a third schedule continuously daily. The starting dose for each dosing regimen will be escalated in subsequent groups of patients after a satisfactory assessment of the safety and tolerability of the previous dose. This 2 stage study will compare the pharmacokinetics and safety profile of subcutaneous and intravenous rituximab in participants with follicular lymphoma. In the first stage, participants who have achieved at least a partial response after induction treatment with intravenous rituximab will be randomized to one of 3 treatment cohorts, to receive rituximab 375 milligram per square meter (mg/m\^2) intravenously, 375 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously or 625 mg/m\^2 subcutaneously, and pharmacokinetics evaluated on an ongoing basis. Upon selection of the subcutaneous dose (800 mg/m\^2) which results in rituximab trough plasma concentration (C trough) values comparable to those achieved with the intravenous formulation, participants in the second stage of the study will be randomized to receive either the subcutaneous or intravenous formulation to demonstrate comparability of the C trough levels with both routes of administration. Maintenance therapy will continue every 2 or 3 months with the subcutaneous formulation.
