NCT06335212
Purpose: Numerous studies have proven that emmetropization in young animals including humans is regulated by visual input. It has long been hypothesized that peripheral myopic defocus may act as a stop signal to reduce myopia progression and axial elongation. As such, multifocal soft contact lenses (MFCLs) have been utilized for myopia control in school-aged children, with variable efficacies. One potential explanation is that the actual peripheral myopic defocus an eye experiences during MFCL wear may not be identical to the Add power and not sufficient to reduce myopia progression. Our study investigated and compared the peripheral power profiles of myopic eyes when they were uncorrected and wore single vision contact lenses (SVCLs) and MFCLs of different Add powers. Methods: Subjects with -1.00 D to -10.00 D of myopia (SE, determined with manifest refraction) were custom fit with both single vision (SV) and MFCLs (+2.00 and +4.00 D Add; provided by Specialeyes) in both eyes. These Specialeyes MFCLs had an aspheric design with a standard total optical zone of 8.0mm. Cycloplegic central autorefraction was conducted with both Grand Seiko WAM-5500 open-field auto-refractor (Grand Seiko Co Ltd) and OPD OPD-Scan III Wavefront Aberrometer (Marco) on the subjects in the following conditions: (1) no CLs, (2) SVCLs, (3) MFCLs (+2.00D Add), and (4) MFCLs (+4.00D Add). Relative peripheral power profiles were measured using the OPD under the same 4 conditions after cycloplegia. Data in the right eye was used for analysis.
NCT05148000
This study to assess aesthetic improvement following treatment with QM1114-DP.
NCT03433781
This is an open label, Phase Ib study designed to evaluate the safety, toxicity and biological activity of high dose Vitamin C in bone marrow and peripheral blood when administered as therapy to patients with intermediate or high risk myelodysplastic syndrome according to the revised IPSS (international prognostic scoring system) criteria whose disease has a Ten-eleven translocation-2, (TET2) mutation. The primary objectives phase 1 study is to establish safety and confirm a steady level of Vitamin C on ≥1 mM in \> 75% of the patients is achieved. All patients will receive at least 1 cycle of treatment (4 weeks). Patients with clinical benefit (CR,PR, or SD) then will undergo a second 4-week cycle of treatment.
NCT04560010
This is a randomized, single-blind, single-center study comparing calculated total blood loss, surgical drain output and hematoma formation in anticoagulated patients who receive 2 doses of Tranexamic Acid (TXA) versus control group undergoing anatomical and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). Patients will be randomized to either receive 2 doses of IV TXA, first dose prior to surgical incision and second dose given 3 hours later or to the control group, where no TXA will be administered.
NCT04110054
The primary objective of this study is to determine the optimal dose of S-600918 in patients with refractory chronic cough by evaluating the change from baseline in 24-hour cough frequency (coughs per hour) with S-600918 compared with placebo.
NCT03237858
The MANAGE-HF study is a multi-center, global, prospective, open label, multi-phase trial intended to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the HeartLogic heart failure diagnostic feature.
NCT04177108
This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of ipatasertib in combination with atezolizumab and paclitaxel in locally advanced or metastatic Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) previously untreated in this setting.
NCT06097234
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the efficacy of the electromyography component of the company's pelvic health product in a patient population with stress urinary incontinence to treatment with pelvic floor physical therapy. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does treatment with the device under study improve symptoms of stress urinary incontinence as measured by the ICIQ when compared to pelvic floor physical therapy? Does treatment with the device under study combined with pelvic floor physical therapy improve symptoms of stress urinary incontinence as measured by the ICIQ when compared to pelvic floor physical therapy alone and treatment with the device alone? Participants will be given one of three treatments: 1. The devices under study alone 2. The device under study plus 4 weekly visits with a pelvic floor physical therapist 3. Four weekly visits with a physical therapist alone Participants will perform a standardized pelvic floor muscle training program 10 minutes a day, four times a week for 4 weeks. There will be a mid-study check in to assure all devices are functioning appropriately. At the end of the study, participants will complete a post-treatment urinary incontinence symptom questionnaire(ICIQ).
NCT03125902
This Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab (MPDL3280A, an anti-programmed death-ligand 1 \[PD-L1\] antibody) administered in combination with paclitaxel compared with placebo in combination with paclitaxel in participants with previously untreated, inoperable locally advanced or metastatic, centrally confirmed TNBC. Participants will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive atezolizumab or placebo plus paclitaxel until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity or end of study, whichever occurs first (maximum up to approximately 40 months). In addition, the Sponsor may decide to terminate the study at any time.
NCT01028430
B-CLL is the most prevalent leukemia in the Western hemisphere, accounting for \~25% of all leukemia's (1). This disease occurs virtually exclusively in the aging population, with the median age of diagnosis ranging between the mid 60s and the early 70s. Indeed, its occurrence before the age of 50 is quite unusual. This increase in occurrence with age is not unique to B-CLL; rather, it is characteristic several B cell lymphoproliferative disorders (e.g., non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma). Gender and race also influence the development of B-CLL. Thus, the ratio of men: women is \~2:1 and the prevalence is increased in Caucasians. The rate of occurrence of B-CLL among Asians is significantly lower than for Caucasians and this does not increase with immigration to the West. DNA sequence analyses performed in our laboratory and in those of others indicate that B-CLL cells from unrelated patients share Ig V gene characteristics. These include the use of selected genes, the association of these genes with certain D and JH gene segments that code for unique CDR3 motifs, and the occasional occurrence of highly similar VHDJH + VLJL pairs. In \~50% cases, these rearranged genes are mutated, whereas in the others mutations are infrequent; this difference is related to the VH gene family used by the B-CLL cell.
NCT05519072
This study aims to show that lack of antibiotic prophylaxis to those undergoing bladder Botox injections is not significantly inferior to administering prophylaxis. By proving this, the investigators aim to decrease antibiotic use in this setting to combat the growing issue of antibiotic resistance. Participants will be randomized to antibiotic or no treatment arm. Those randomized to the treatment arm will receive oral antibiotics for 2 days pre-treatment, on the treatment day, and 2 days post-treatment. Participants will return for a follow up appointment approximately 2 weeks after treatment to assess for urinary tract infection (UTI) symptoms. They will be called again at 6 weeks for follow up.
NCT02603432
The main purpose of this study is to compare maintenance treatment with avelumab plus best supportive care (BSC) with BSC alone, to determine if avelumab has an effect on survival in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer that did not worsen during or following completion of first-line chemotherapy.
NCT04592341
This is a Phase II, multicenter, open-label, single arm, PD study in participants with early (prodromal to mild) AD to evaluate the effect of a once weekly (Q1W) dosing regimen of gantenerumab on deposited amyloid as measured by change from baseline to Week 104 (primary) and Week 208 in brain amyloid positron emission tomography (PET). The administration of gantenerumab as a single injection of Q1W will be investigated in this study, to simplify the dosing regimen for participants.
