NCT00003881
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining monoclonal antibody therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of the monoclonal antibody trastuzumab plus carboplatin and paclitaxel in treating patients who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT00530764
The purpose of this study is to determine the effective dose range and to demonstrate a non-effective dose range of Sativex in patients with advanced cancer, who experience inadequate pain relief even though they are on optimized chronic opioid therapy.
NCT00838448
In this study the investigators will explore the relationship between physical activity and cannabis use. The investigators will compare regional brain activation detected by imaging technique(fRMI) before and after exercise in cannabis users and compare results with results from controls. The investigators hypothesize that the regional brain activation in response to visual cues (pictures related to cannabis use and food) will be different in cannabis users than in controls and that exercise will significantly alter brain responses to the cues.
NCT01106625
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2 different doses of canagliflozin compared with placebo in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are receiving treatment with metformin and sulphonylurea and have inadequate glycemic (blood sugar) control.
NCT00856973
A multi center, randomized study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of eszopiclone compared to placebo in children (6-11 years of age, inclusive) and adolescents (12-17 years of age, inclusive) with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) associated insomnia.
NCT00743002
This trial is designed to show the effect of treatment with TT223 or placebo on blood glucose control after 12 weeks of treatment with a 6 month follow-up. TT223 is administered by injection once daily to patients currently treated with Metformin and/or Thiazolidinedione.
NCT01367184
Inferior vena cava (IVC) filter is an important therapeutic device used in the management of venous thrombo-embolism (VTE) in patients that are contra-indicated for anti-coagulation therapy. While there has been significant increase in the use of filters , unfortunately there are no standardized collection of data to track, compare outcomes, report safety and efficacy.
NCT00002562
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating patients with advanced, refractory, or recurrent cervical or vaginal cancer.
NCT01695187
This is a study to test the hypothesis that time to healing of a cold sore will be lower in the active treatment arm of the study when compared to the vehicle (placebo). Subjects with a history of cold sores will be enrolled and administered active treatment or placebo in a blinded manner. Subjects will then be followed to assess time to healing.
NCT00005855
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of efaproxiral when given with carmustine and to see how well they work in treating patients with progressive or recurrent malignant glioma.
NCT00671918
Data from this pivotal clinical trial will be used to support a marketing application (i.e., NDA) for Navidea's Lymphoseek for use in intraoperative localization of lymph tissue (nodes) in the lymphatic pathway draining the primary site of a tumor.
NCT00020527
RATIONALE: Giving caspofungin acetate may be effective in preventing or controlling fever and neutropenia caused by chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation. PURPOSE: Clinical trial to study the effectiveness of caspofungin acetate in treating children who have fever and neutropenia caused by a weakened immune system.
NCT00068471
RATIONALE: Anidulafungin may be effective in preventing fungal infections in immunocompromised children who have neutropenia. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects of anidulafungin and to see how well it works in preventing fungal infections in immunocompromised children with neutropenia caused by chemotherapy or aplastic anemia.
NCT00871182
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of inhaled PT001 compared to placebo and tiotropium in patients with mild to moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00022672
This 2 arm study assessed the safety and efficacy of adding intravenous trastuzumab (Herceptin®) to daily oral anastrozole (Arimidex®) tablets as first- and second-line treatment in postmenopausal patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) overexpressing metastatic breast cancer (ER+ve and/or PR+ve). Patients were randomized to receive either anastrazole 1 mg per os (po) daily, or anastrazole 1 mg po daily + a loading dose of Herceptin® 4 mg/kg intravenous (iv) followed by weekly doses of Herceptin® 2 mg/kg iv. The anticipated time on study treatment was until disease progression, and the target sample size was 100-500 individuals.
NCT00737516
The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) has established a system for registering, matching, and tracking unrelated donor cord blood units (CBUs) and transplant outcomes. Study subjects are donors who enroll through collaborating cord blood banks. This study creates uniform collection, screening, testing and storage requirements for cord blood units. The purpose of standardization is to improve efficiency in the selection of cord blood units for transplantation.
NCT00066599
RATIONALE: Voriconazole may be effective in preventing systemic fungal infections following chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of voriconazole in preventing systemic fungal infections in children who have neutropenia after receiving chemotherapy for leukemia, lymphoma, or aplastic anemia or in preparation for bone marrow or stem cell transplantation.
NCT00908024
The study is expected to identify a safe dose of BMS-754807 to be given in combination with a standard dose of cetuximab and the recommended dose or dose range for Phase II studies. The study is also intended to collect first data on the effects of the combination of BMS-754807 with cetuximab on tumors of patients with colorectal cancer or squamous cell cancer of the head and neck for whom cetuximab-containing therapies have not been effective
NCT00107237
RATIONALE: AEE788 and everolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving AEE788 together with everolimus may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of AEE788 when given together with everolimus and to see how well they work in treating patients with recurrent or relapsed glioblastoma multiforme.
