NCT00867698

NCT00881530
The objective of the current study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of BI 10773 in 2 different doses compared to Metformin or to Sitagliptin given for 78 weeks in different modalities of treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
NCT01925391
Pediatric glaucoma is a rare but potentially blinding condition where the pressure in the eye is too high. Diagnosis is based on intraocular pressure (IOP) and assessment of the optic nerve, cornea and other structures. Accurate intraocular pressure measurements in young children is often impossible to obtain in an office setting. Children need sedation or general anesthesia to determine IOP. All volatile general anesthetics affect the IOP. Nitrous Oxide, a weak volatile anesthetic, does not affect IOP in healthy adults. Since Nitrous Oxide has shown to be safe and effective in a variety of practice environments, we want to evaluate the use of nitrous oxide in oxygen to obtain IOP measurements in children.
NCT00984867
This study aims to investigate how dapagliflozin can control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes when added to existing treatments (sitagliptin alone or in combination with metformin). The effect of dapagliflozin on weight and blood pressure will also be studied.
NCT01127607
It is now well recognized that Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic disorder of childhood that extends into adulthood for many individuals. A number of impairments in daily life functioning have been identified in adults with ADHD, including marital distress, risky driving, and using less effective parenting practices (e.g., Barkley, 2006). Specifically, some parents with ADHD have been found to use inconsistent discipline, less parental involvement, and less positive reinforcement with their children compared to parents without ADHD (e.g., Chen \& Johnston, 2007; Chronis-Tuscano, Clarke, Rooney, Diaz, \& Pian, 2008). While there is some evidence that stimulant medication improves parental functioning for adults with ADHD, only one study has specifically explored the use of stimulant medication and parenting(Chronis-Tuscano, Seymour, Stine, Jones, Jiles, Rooney, et al., 2008). The purpose of this study is to explore whether or not the stimulant medication, lisdexamfetamine, improves parent functioning. Measures of parenting behavior, parental psychosocial functioning, and child psychosocial functioning will be collected. It is hypothesized that lisdexamfetamine will be associated with some improvement in these assessments.
NCT00441558
To determine if long-term treatment with Flibanserin is safe and to monitor the effectiveness of Flibanserin in Women with HSDD that have already completed a previous study (511.70/71/.74/.75/.105) with Flibanserin.
NCT00805467
The purpose of this new research study is to gain additional information about how safe and effective R935788 is over a longer period of time.
NCT00309699
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of flexible-doses paliperidone ER (3 to 12 mg as needed) compared with placebo over 3 weeks in patients with Bipolar I Disorder who are experiencing an acute manic or mixed episode. This study will also evaluate the effects of paliperidone ER on global functioning, and will compare the effectiveness of flexible doses of paliperidone ER to that of quetiapine over 12 weeks.
NCT00549718
Lurasidone HCl is a compound being developed for the treatment of schizophrenia. This clinical study is designed to test the hypothesis that lurasidone is more efficacious than placebo. The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of lurasidone as compared to placebo.
NCT01656239
The purpose of this study is to determine the dose level(s) of fedovapagon which result in a decrease in the mean nocturnal void frequency.
NCT00796783
This is an observational study to confirm the presence of recurrent or persistent endogenous Cushing's syndrome in patients who have had primary surgical and/or radiation therapy for Cushing's disease and continue to manifest symptoms and signs of hypercortisolemia.
NCT01159600
The objective of the current study is to investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of two doses of BI 10773 compared to placebo given for 24 weeks as add-on therapy to metformin or metformin plus sulfonylurea in patients with Typ 2 Diabetes Mellitus with insufficient glycaemic control.
NCT01410240
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of FLOSEAL to standard of care for hemostasis in subjects undergoing total knee arthroplasty.
NCT00601523
The general aim of this study is to obtain long-term safety and tolerability data on pramipexole ER, in daily doses from 0.375mg to 4.5mg once daily (q.d), in patients who have previously completed a pramipexole double-blind study in early PD (248.524(NCT00479401) or 248.636(NCT00558025) trial).
NCT00400153
The primary objective of this study is to compare the effect of ipratropium bromide/salbutamol inhalation spray combination administered by the Respimat® inhaler (20 mcg/100 mcg), ipratropium bromide inhalation spray administered by the Respimat® inhaler (20 mcg), and COMBIVENT® MDI administered q.i.d on FEV1 at intervals over a treatment period of 12 weeks in patients with COPD. Specifically, non-inferiority of Combivent Respimat® to COMBIVENT® MDI in FEV1 AUC from 0 to 6 hours , superiority of Combivent Respimat® to Atrovent Respimat® monotherapy in FEV1 AUC from 0 to 4 hours, and non-inferiority of Combivent Respimat® to Atrovent Respimat® monotherapy in FEV1 AUC from 4 to 6 hours will be analyzed. In addition, steady state pharmacokinetics over one dosing interval following 4 weeks of therapy will be characterized in a subgroup of patients.
NCT00110305
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the dose-response relationship of antiviral activity after 48 weeks treatment with 3 different dose regimens of TMC278.
NCT00782210
This primary objective of this study is to compare two doses of BI 1744 CL inhalation solution delivered by the Respimat® inhaler once daily to placebo in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The safety of BI 1744 CL inhalation solution delivered through the Respimat inhaler will also be compared to placebo.
NCT00530166
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of JNJ-18054478 measured by the percent change from baseline in Forced Expiratory Volume in one Second (FEV1) after 12 weeks of therapy in patients with persistent asthma.
NCT00962741
This study will evaluate the effect of etanercept on the clinical benefit, safety, and physical functioning (ability to function in daily life) in children and adolescent subjects with 3 subtypes of childhood arthritis.
NCT01033994
Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common diseases affecting the joints, usually those that are weight bearing such as the knees. OA is considered to be a disease of the cartilage in the joints even though it involves the whole joint, including the bone and synovium (thin lining of the joints which produces synovial fluid). With time, more and more of the cartilage is destroyed by the disease with inflammation commonly occurring. AS902330 is expected to increase the production and development of specific bone cells: chondrocytes and osteoblasts (cells that produce and maintain bone and cartilage). This is expected to lead to repair and generation of the cartilage, and a narrowing of the space width between the knee joints in a selected region of the knee cartilage. The purpose of this study is to see how safe treatment with AS902330 is, and to evaluate its effect on the knee cartilage. In addition, the study will also measure the effects of AS902330 in the blood, which reflect disease activity.
