NCT00356135
This study will compare the effect of a prasugrel 10-mg maintenance dose with a clopidogrel 75-mg maintenance dose on platelet activity, approximately 1 week after the first dose of study drug, in subjects who have been taking clopidogrel 75 mg daily following a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with placement of a stent, performed to treat acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
NCT00428597
This study randomized patients with advanced pancreatic islet cell tumors to receive either sunitinib or placebo. Patients who were randomized to sunitinib received 37.5 mg of sunitinib daily, those randomized to placebo received a tablet that looked similar but had no active drug. Neither the patient or the doctor knew whether the patient was receiving sunitinib or placebo. Patients were followed to determine the status and size of their tumors, survival, quality of life and safety of the drug. The study was designed to detect a 50% improvement in median PFS\[Progression Free Survival\] with 90% power and was to enroll 340 subjects. An interim analysis was planned when 130 events had occurred, and the final analysis was to be conducted when 260 events had occurred. Study A6181111 was stopped early during the enrollment period because of a clear and clinically meaningful improvement in efficacy for the sunitinib treatment arm as recommended by the DMC \[Data Monitoring Committee\]. The actual number of subjects enrolled was 171 and the actual number of PFS events recorded was 81 PFS events. The decision to terminate the study was not based on safety concerns related to sunitinib administration.
NCT00673075
This study is being done to see if the blood pressure lowering effect of an approved drug nebivolol is comparable to that of another approved drug carvedilol for the treatment of hypertension in patients who have coronary artery disease.
NCT00573508
Evaluate the effect of VESIcare® on symptom bother for subjects with OAB
NCT00051259
The purpose of this trial is to study the effects of two depression medications on sexual functioning.
NCT00294645
The purpose of the study is to compare remote pacemaker follow-up to current standard of care follow-up. The study will compare the rate of first diagnosis of clinically actionable events between patients who utilize the Medtronic Carelink® Network (Remote arm) versus patients who are followed via routine office visits augmented by transtelephonic monitoring (TTM)(Control arm).
NCT00096720
Study participants who have been clinically diagnosed with Parkinson disease will receive no treatment, treatment with either levodopa, or treatment with Mirapex for a period of 12 weeks. Over the course of the study subjects will travel to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders (IND) in New Haven, Connecticut for brain imaging.
NCT00429091
A Dose-Ranging Study of the Efficacy of ABT-894 in Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
NCT00083135
RATIONALE: Giving iodine I 131 metaiodobenzylguanidine (\^131I-MIBG) may kill neuroblastoma cells by delivering radiation directly to the tumor. A stem cell transplant using the patient's stem cells may be able to replace blood-forming cells destroyed by radiation therapy. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of a double infusion of \^131I-MIBG followed by autologous stem cell transplantation in treating patients with refractory neuroblastoma.
NCT00077974
To assess the safety and efficacy of SU011248 in patients with metastatic, refractory renal cell carcinoma
NCT00715637
Amonafide is a DNA intercalating agent and inhibitor of topoisomerase II that has been extensively studied in patients with malignant solid tumors. Amonafide has also been studied in patients with AML. The purpose of this study is to assess the relative efficacy and safety of amonafide in combination with cytarabine compared to daunorubicin with cytarabine in subjects with documented secondary AML.
NCT00032617
The purpose of the proposed DVA cooperative study is to evaluate the efficacy of exposure therapy for treating PTSD and associated problems in female veterans and active duty military personnel. We propose to compare exposure therapy, Prolonged Exposure, with a comparison therapy that focuses on current problems, Present Centered Therapy. The study is a randomized clinical trial involving 384 female veterans and active duty personnel in 11 VA medical centers and 1 DoD medical center. All subjects, even self-referrals, will enter the study through referrals by mental health clinicians at the participating sites. Following informed consent, subjects will be screened for inclusion and exclusion diagnoses. If they meet these criteria and agree to participate, they will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments, which will occur weekly for 10 weeks. Subjects will be assessed before treatment, immediately following treatment, and 3 and 6 months after the end of treatment. The primary outcome is PTSD severity. Secondary outcomes are anxiety and depression. Exploratory outcomes include associated features of PTSD, such as dissociation and substance abuse; psychosocial functioning, quality of life, physical health, satisfaction with treatment, and service utilization. Both treatments will be described in detail in a treatment manual and monitored intensively to ensure that they are administered correctly.
NCT00807937
The purpose of this research study is to determine whether AstraZeneca's drug AZD7325 is safe and effective in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder.
NCT00230646
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the U.S. and if detected early, has a favorable prognosis. Colorectal cancer survivors report increased fatigue, low vigor, impaired physical functioning and disturbances in body esteem. However, the group is relatively understudied and the potential benefits of increased physical activity to their recovery have not been examined. This study focuses on enhancing recovery by offering a home-based physical activity program to patients who have completed treatment for colorectal cancer. This study will test the efficacy of the physical activity intervention using a randomized controlled design among 134 patients who have completed treatment for colorectal cancer in the past 2 years. Outcomes will include physical activity behavior, fitness, vigor, fatigue, physical functioning, and body esteem among participants at baseline, 3 (posttreatment), 6 and 12 months. We will also track intervention costs and conduct exploratory analyses of moderators and mediators of change to help guide the future development of physical activity interventions to enhance recovery from colorectal cancer.
NCT00053638
This is a 48-week study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new tablet formulation containing two FDA-approved drugs in HIV-infected patients who have not received prior therapy. This tablet will be taken with one of two FDA-approved drugs as a once-daily regimen. Study physicians will evaluate subjects to determine if they have certain medical conditions, laboratory test values, medication use, or drug allergies that would exclude them from the study.
NCT00546507
The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TDS-943 (topical diclofenac spray) compared to oral celecoxib and placebo in subjects with osteoarthritis of the knee. The main hypotheses are that TDS-943 will be better than placebo and no worse than celecoxib.
NCT00085813
This study was designed to determine how effective and safe Ispinesib is in treating locally advanced or metastatic Non-small Cell Lung cancer in patients who have received a platinum-based chemotherapy and whose disease continues to progress. Treatment involves a 1-hr treatment given intravenously (IV), repeated once every 21 days. A patient may continue treatment as long as they are benefiting from the treatment. Blood samples will be taken at specific times over 24 hr period to measure the amount of drug in your body at specific times after the drug is given. Blood samples will also be taken for routine lab tests such as complete blood counts and clinical chemistries. Physical exams will be performed before each treatment.
NCT00402272
The purpose of this Clinical Evaluation is a continuation in the assessment of the performance of the XIENCE V® Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System (XIENCE V® EECSS) in the treatment of patients with de novo coronary artery lesions.
NCT00622245
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of different doses of Lu AA34893 in the treatment of depression in patients with bipolar disorder.
NCT00487240
The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of insulin lispro protamine suspension (ILPS) as compared to insulin detemir as basal insulin combined with mealtime insulin therapy in patients with type 1 diabetes.
