NCT01001923
Primary objective was to demonstrate the activity of REGN475/SAR164877 in reducing the pain associated with chronic pancreatitis. Secondary objectives were: * to assess the safety and tolerability of REGN475/SAR164877 in patients with chronic pancreatitis pain; * to characterize the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and immunogenicity profiles of REGN475/SAR164877 in this population; * to measure the change in the total daily dose of rescue medications required.
NCT00005031
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of irofulven in treating patients who have persistent or recurrent refractory endometrial cancer.
NCT00005026
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy in treating patients who have stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial or primary peritoneal cancer.
NCT00002717
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which chemotherapy regimen is more effective for ovarian or peritoneal cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of two regimens of paclitaxel plus cisplatin in treating patients who have residual disease after surgery to remove stage III or stage IV ovarian cancer or primary peritoneal cancer.
NCT00003795
RATIONALE: Quality-of-life assessment in cancer survivors may help determine the long-term effects of having had gynecologic cancer and may help improve the quality of life for future cancer survivors. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the quality of life in survivors of gynecologic cancer.
NCT00714870
We are currently experiencing an epidemic of obesity in the Pediatric Population. This epidemic affects many areas including quality of life. We have been conducting a nutrition and exercise program since 2003. We have noticed that many of the participants seem to have a better quality of life after finishing the one year program compared to when they started. We would like to objectively quantify this improvement using a validated questionnaire at the beginning and at the end of the study. Questionnaires will be given to participants and to their caretakers at the same time. There will be two groups in the study: one intervention (minimum attendance of 4 sessions) and one control group.
NCT00006345
RATIONALE: Denileukin diftitox may be able to deliver cancer-killing substances directly to T-cell lymphoma cells. Dexamethasone may decrease the side effects of denileukin diftitox. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of dexamethasone in preventing side effects following treatment with denileukin diftitox in treating patients who have persistent or recurrent T-cell lymphoma.
NCT01864694
The aim of this study is to compare a Web-based system and a computer telephone system to determine their effectiveness in improving diet behaviors compared to each other and a control group.
NCT01256515
The goal of this study is to assess the immunogenicity of inactivated influenza vaccination (IIV) in healthy elderly volunteers aged 50 years and older receiving one of two different health management trainings.
NCT00672633
The investigators will conduct a randomized clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of Lovaza (formerly known as Omacor) in reducing triglyceride levels in youth ages 10-19 years old whose baseline triglycerides range from 150 mg/dl to 1000 mg/dl. Seventy subjects will be recruited at baseline and randomized to the treatment condition, Lovaza 4 grams/day for 6 months or the control condition, a corn oil placebo, 4 tablets a day for 6 months. Participants in both the treatment and control groups will receive the standard of care, which is dietary advice to follow a low, refined carbohydrate and low saturated fat diet that emphasizes increasing intake of fruits and vegetables and eating 2 servings per week of fishes rich in omega-3 fatty acids, consistent with the American Heart Association recommendations. The primary outcome will be change in fasting triglycerides from baseline to 3 months. The investigators hypothesize that patients who receive LOVAZA will have significantly greater reductions in plasma triglyceride levels when compared to patients on placebo at 3 months.
NCT00943072
This is a phase 3 study to determine the efficacy of VEGF Trap-Eye injected into the eye on vision function in subjects with macular edema as a consequence of central retinal vein occlusion.
NCT01303562
The goal of this placebo-controlled, 3-way crossover study is to determine the acute (24-h) bioavailability and pharmacokinetics of the major phytochemicals found whole barley and oats, as well as their effects on selected measures of antioxidation, inflammation, insulin sensitivity/glucose regulation, and vascular remodeling following challenge by an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT).
NCT00593944
The purpose of this study is to see at what dose MDX-1342, a monoclonal antibody, is safe and tolerable for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Information on any responses that patients may have to the drug will also be collected.
NCT00370214
The REVEAL Registry™ is a multicenter, observational, U.S.-based study of the clinical course and disease management of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients. All consecutive consenting patients diagnosed with WHO Group I PAH according to specific hemodynamic criteria at participating institutions will be enrolled. Participating patients will be followed for a minimum of five years from the time of enrollment.
NCT00780507
The present study will analyze fecal levels of FC and FL in UC patients who relapse (flare) while on a QD or a BID Asacol treatment regimen and compare those levels to levels of FC and FL in UC patients who do not relapse (flare).
NCT01775761
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of tafamidis on the intervals of the electrocardiogram, specifically the rate corrected QT interval (QTc) in healthy volunteers.
NCT00654979
To determine the safety and effectiveness of the SafeFlo filter for permanent protection against pulmonary emboli. All patients will be selected to receive the filter according to the stated inclusion / exclusion criteria after consultation between the attending physician and interventional radiologist. Patients with a permanent implantation will be followed for up to 6 months. Clinical success will be defined as no occurrences of any of the following events: recurrent pulmonary embolism, IVC occlusion or filter embolization. The proportion of permanent filter patients considered to be a clinical success will be the primary efficacy parameter.
NCT00045695
RATIONALE: Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of bortezomib in treating patients who have untreated or relapsed Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia.
NCT00016926
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of capecitabine in treating patients who have advanced, persistent, or recurrent cervical cancer.
NCT00485719
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and tolerability of XL765. XL765 is a new chemical entity that inhibits the kinases PI3K and mTOR. In preclinical studies, inactivation of PI3K has been shown to inhibit growth and induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in tumor cells, whereas inactivation of mTOR has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells.
