The purpose of this study is to test how effective, safe and tolerated PF-04191834 is in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee by itself or with naproxen, particularly to test if patients have less pain.

The purpose of this study is to investigate an intervention to prevent complications after pancreas surgery. The goal is to determine if placing a stent into the pancreatic duct before surgery will decrease or prevent leaking from the pancreatic duct after surgery. Leaks are common after pancreas surgery and can result in serious problems and post-operative pain. The study will compare two groups. One group will have the stent before surgery, and the other group will have standard pancreas surgery, no endoscopy, and no stent.

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bevacizumab when given together with fluorouracil and external-beam radiation therapy in treating patients with stage II or stage III rectal cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining monoclonal antibody therapy with chemotherapy and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.

To evaluate the impact of this system on physician awareness of test results finalized after discharge. Hypothesis: Automatic email notification will improve physician awareness of test results finalized after discharge compared to usual care. Specific Aims: (Study #2, funded by CRICO, completed July 2012) 1. To identify a cohort of discharged patients with potentially actionable results of tests pending at discharge (TPAD). 2. To determine if automated email notification of the finalized results of potentially actionable TPADs affects the rate of post-discharge actions taken as documented in the electronic medical record (EMR). Hypothesis: Automated email notification of the finalized results of potentially actionable TPADs increases the rate of actions taken post-discharge.

Taking anti-HIV medication consistently and properly is a critical issue for patients with HIV. Drug regimens are complex; when regimens are not taken properly, HIV can become resistant to the drugs. Taking anti-HIV medication properly leads to improved health. Children and adolescents with HIV face unique challenges to taking HIV medication properly. This study will look at the relationship between how children cope with the responsibility for taking medication and the child's language, memory, attention, behavior, and academic skills. This study is open to children and adolescents who are currently enrolled in the PACTG 219C study (Long-Term Effects of HIV Exposure and Infection in Children).

This randomized phase III clinical trial studies combination chemotherapy with high dose cyclophosphamide and recombinant interferon alfa-2b to see how well it works compared to combination chemotherapy alone in treating patients with previously untreated stage I-III multiple myeloma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vincristine sulfate, carmustine, melphalan, cyclophosphamide, and prednisone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Recombinant interferon alfa-2b may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. It is not yet know whether giving combination chemotherapy with or without alternating high-dose cyclophosphamide and recombinant interferon alfa-2b is more effective in treating multiple myeloma.

Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) has been shown to be effective in reducing drug use, criminal activity and recidivism. Given this effectiveness, maintaining individuals who are enrolled in community MMT when committed to the Department of Corrections for short term incarceration would improve post release outcomes. However, this is rarely practiced in the United States. Current practice at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections is to detox inmates on methadone within 30 days of being incarcerated. More than 75% of these individuals are incarcerated for less than six months. The period immediately after release from incarceration is a particularly high-risk time for HIV and other problems including drug relapse and overdose. The investigators hypothesize that inmates who are incarcerated for 6 months or less will have better outcomes and cost the state less money if they are maintained on their methadone dose and relinked to their community clinic at release, than the current practice of detoxification.

The use of surgery with or without medroxyprogesterone may be an effective way to prevent the development of endometrial cancer in patients who have endometrial hyperplasia. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of surgery alone with that of medroxyprogesterone followed by surgery in preventing endometrial cancer in patients who have endometrial hyperplasia.
