NCT00041054
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Exisulind may make tumor cells more sensitive to chemotherapy. Combining chemotherapy with exisulind may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining chemotherapy with exisulind in treating patients who have extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.
NCT01369329
This study (UNITI-1) will compare the effects (both positive and negative) of an initial treatment with ustekinumab to placebo over 8 weeks, in patients with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease who have either failed or could not tolerate at least one TNF-antagonist medications in the past (specifically, infliximab, adalimumab, or certolizumab pegol).
NCT00667654
This study will evaluate dosing regimens of 4975 in terms of safety and tolerability when delivered as an intra-articular injection in the knee. Secondary objectives will be to explore the efficacy of 4975 in terms of onset, extent and duration of pain relief.
NCT02463279
The goal of this study is to evaluate basic usability and confirm expected safety and effectiveness of SinuSys Dilation System when used to dilate frontal recess and sphenoid sinus ostia in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis.
NCT01762696
The purpose of this study is to further develop and test the Momentary Self-Monitoring and Feedback + Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MOMENT) intervention, a real-time, contextual intervention to reduce marijuana use among primary care patients.
NCT00053053
RATIONALE: Nutritional supplements may help prevent loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue in patients with advanced cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of two nutritional supplements in preventing loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue in patients who have stage III or stage IV solid tumors.
NCT01276197
The purpose of this study is to determine if patients with high blood pressure are better able to control their blood pressure after watching a DVD about blood pressure.
NCT01247961
This pilot trial will evaluate the following in patients with acute pancreatitis: 1. Safety profile of early treatment with intravenous dexamethasone 2. Impact of dexamethasone on systemic inflammation in patients with acute pancreatitis 3. Provide preliminary data on potential impact of early treatment with steroids on clinical outcomes
NCT00577382
The purpose of this study is to evaluate how effective Sunitinib works in treating acral lentiginous and mucosal melanoma which has spread beyond the local region. Suninitib is a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor and acts as a c-kit inhibitor drug. It is believed to work by blocking signals on certain cancer cells which allow the malignant cells to multiply and spread due to a change in the genetic make up of the cancer cell.
NCT01500655
The purpose of this study is to determine whether either a peripheral nerve block under ultrasound (u/s) guidance of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN), versus an u/s guided block of the nerve followed by continuous catheter infusion of local anesthetic, offers better post-operative analgesia in pediatric burn patients undergoing reconstructive surgery, than the current analgesic regimen of subcutaneous local anesthetic infiltration. Eligible subject, pediatric patients having reconstructive surgery for burns, having skin graft donor sites of the lateral thighs, will be randomized into three groups: control (having local infiltration of site), ultrasound guided nerve block, or ultrasound guided nerve block with catheter placement --fascia iliac. Post-operative comfort will be assessed over the next 48 hours.
NCT02120300
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the antiviral efficacy, safety, and tolerability of treatment with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) in participants with genotypes 1 and 4 hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and sofosbuvir (SOF) plus ribavirin (RBV) in participants with genotypes 2 and 3 HCV infection. Participants with an inherited bleeding disorder and chronic HCV infection (either monoinfected or HIV-1/HCV coinfected) will be enrolled.
NCT00113165
This study is being conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of LAMICTAL (lamotrigine) extended-release with placebo in the treatment of partial seizures. LAMICTAL extended-release is an investigational drug. Placebo tablets look like LAMICTAL extended-release tablets but do not contain active medication. In this study, LAMICTAL extended-release or placebo tablets will be added to current seizure treatments.
NCT01112722
The study will identify the efficacy of Apitox, purified honeybee toxin, in 330 patients with diagnosed osteoarthritis of the knee. The subjects will be evaluated for relief of pain using Western Ontario and McMaster Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) and Physician and Patient Global Assessments and primary efficacy measure of relief of pain and inflammation over a 12 week treatment period after randomization into the trial. Secondary efficacy is improvement of mobility Treatment effect will be compared in a 2-1 Apitox vs active control
NCT01045707
This trial is conducted in Asia, Europe and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of NN5401 (insulin degludec/insulin aspart (IDegAsp)) with insulin glargine (IGlar), both as add-on to subject's ongoing treatment with metformin + at least one OAD (oral anti-diabetic drug). The main period is registered internally at Novo Nordisk as NN5401-3590 while the extension period is registered as NN5401-3726.
NCT01410565
This is an international, multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized study. All eligible patients entering the open label phase of the study will receive a single immediate instillation of apaziquone (4 mg in 40 mL diluent), post transurethral resection-bladder tumor (TURBT). Following Central Pathology review of histology and Double Blind Phase qualification, patients with confirmed eligibility will be randomized to receive either 6 weekly intravesical instillations of apaziquone or matching placebo and undergo cystoscopic and safety assessments every 3 months for 24 months from randomization. Patients with histologic evidence of recurrent disease during the study will be treated according to current treatment guidelines or local standard of care. Safety and efficacy assessments will be performed at 3 month intervals for all randomized patients throughout the study. Patients who receive single dose of apaziquone immediately following TURBT and are not eligible for randomization will be followed for 3 months by cystoscopic exam and safety assessments.
NCT00519636
The purpose of this replicate study to FFU105924 is to provide data on subject preference of FFNS as compared with FPNS.
NCT00232596
This Phase 3 study is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of retigabine dosed at 1200 mg/day, in three equally divided doses, compared with placebo in patients with epilepsy who are receiving up to three established antiepileptic drugs (AEDs).
NCT01521143
As \< 10% of the necessary patients required by the protocol were recruited and the data were not intended to support a labeling claim, it was determined that the abbreviated clinical study report (CSR) was the appropriate reporting format. No efficacy analyses were performed as the trial was terminated early with incomplete enrollment of \< 10%. The purpose of this study is to determine if an investigational cell therapy called Cvac can help epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) from returning when administered to patients who are in complete remission after surgical removal of their tumor followed by standard first-line (Part A) or second-line (Part B) chemotherapy. Following remission, patients will undergo leukapheresis for the manufacture of the study agent. After completion of chemotherapy and confirmation of remission, patients will enter the treatment phase of the study.

The study duration will last up to 28 weeks. The study will provide further data on safety and tolerability of roflumilast.
NCT00424476
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, and impact on quality of life of two different doses of belimumab administered in addition to standard therapy in subjects with active, autoantibody-positive systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) disease.
