NCT02239120
This trial will enroll approximately 6,000 patients with recent embolic stroke of unknown source (ESUS). Patients will be randomized to dabigatran or acetylsalicyclic acid (ASA) (1:1 ratio) and have visits every three months. The study doctor may prescribe blinded concomitant ASA for pts with coronary artery disease but this is not mandatory. All Adverse Events (AEs), Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), outcome events will be recorded. The trial will conclude when the required number of stroke events are positively adjudicated which is estimated to take 3 years (including 2.5 years of enrollment).
NCT04073914
Type 1 Diabetes (T1DM) is a common chronic illness in children which presents difficult and often stressful management concerns for parents. As children approach adolescence, this burden increases with the desire for independence and self-management. No tool exists that addresses in a user friendly, easy to access and socio-culturally appropriate way, the psychosocial needs of parents as they move through this transition. This program targets the parents to help them at the very point where this transition is occurring.
NCT03869489
The purpose of this study is to determine whether anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) applied to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex induces approach motivation, and whether anodal tDCS applied to the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex induces avoidance motivation. This study consists of three experiments: one in which an approach/avoidance video game is validated, one in which the effect of anger and fear on approach/avoidance is studied, and one in which the effect of tDCS is studied. Only the experiment in which the effect of tDCS is studied involves tDCS.
NCT01941745
Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) is a multi-factorial disease process that is the end result of an immature, surfactant deficient lung that has been exposed to hyperoxia, mechanical ventilation and infection. These conditions initiate an inflammatory response characterized by elevated inflammatory cell infiltrates and proinflammatory cytokines that lead to the development of significant acute and chronic lung injury. The study drug, rhCC10, is a recombinant version of natural human CC10 protein. Native CC10 is produced primarily by non-ciliated respiratory epithelial cells, called Clara cells and is the most abundant protein in the mucosal fluids in normal healthy lungs. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, tolerability and anti-inflammatory effects of a single intratracheal (IT) dose of rhCC10 to intubated premature infants receiving positive pressure ventilation for treatment of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) to prevent long term respiratory complications referred to as bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and, more recently, as Chronic Pulmonary Insufficiency of Prematurity (CPIP; asthma, cough, wheezing, multiple respiratory infections). CC10 regulates inflammatory responses and protects the structural integrity of pulmonary tissue while preserving pulmonary mechanical function during various insults (eg. viral infection, bacterial endotoxin, ozone, allergens, hyperoxia). Together these properties suggest that administration of rhCC10 may help to facilitate development of normal airway epithelia and prevent the inflammation that leads to CPIP in these infants. This study is funded by the FDA Office of Orphan Product Development (OOPD).
NCT03552523
Our goal is to conduct an outpatient study testing the bionic pancreas in the insulin-only configuration at a set-point of 100 mg/dl in 10 adult (≥ 18 years of age) subjects with type 2 diabetes in a random-order crossover study versus usual care with daily injections or an insulin pump.
NCT01842581
The purpose of the study is to evaluate if rifaximin alone or rifaximin plus lactulose delays the onset of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) in participants with cirrhosis who have had a previous episode of HE.
NCT02307240
This is a Phase I, open-label, multi-center trial designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of CUDC-907 administered orally to subjects with advanced/relapsed solid tumors.
NCT01703039
The investigators are doing a research study to find out if riluzole, when taken along with a standard antidepressant (sertraline) can help people with major depression. This research study will compare riluzole + sertraline to placebo + sertraline. The investigators hypothesize that adding riluzole will lead to a better antidepressant response, in less time, then sertraline alone.
NCT00265109
The purpose of this study is to assess the usefulness of a medication (Levetiracetam) for people with body dysmorphic disorder.
NCT02891070
The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FS VH S/D 500 s-apr for use as an adjunct to sutured dural repair in cranial surgery.
NCT03988114
The reason for this study is to see if the drug abemaciclib in combination with nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole or letrozole) is effective in participants with Hormone Receptor Positive (HR+), Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 Negative (HER2-) advanced breast cancer that have certain disease characteristics.
NCT03212521
A study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of glecaprevir(GLE)/pibrentasvir(PIB) in treatment-naïve participants with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes 1-6 infection and with an aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index (APRI) of less than or equal to 1.
NCT02688764
This is a Phase 3, Open-label, Randomised, Active-controlled, Parallel Group, Multicentre Study to Investigate the Safety and Efficacy of PA21 (Velphoro®) and Calcium Acetate (Phoslyra®) in Paediatric and Adolescent CKD Patients with Hyperphosphataemia. The aim of this Phase 3 clinical study is to demonstrate similar efficacy of PA21 (Velphoro) in paediatric and adolescent patients with CKD, and to provide safety and dosing information for this patient population. The Phoslyra (comparator) group provides information for a descriptive comparison of PA21 against a commonly used calcium-based phosphate binder (calcium acetate).
NCT01287585
This is a study of ADI-PEG 20 (pegylated arginine deiminase), an arginine degrading enzyme versus placebo in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who have failed prior systemic treatment (chemotherapy). Hepatocellular carcinomas have been found to require arginine, an amino acid. Thus the hypothesis is that by restricting arginine with ADI-PEG 20, the hepatocellular carcinoma cells will starve and die.
NCT03785184
This study will evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of venetoclax when combined with lenalidomide and dexamethasone for participants with newly diagnosed, active t(11;14) positive multiple myeloma (MM). This study will consist of 2 parts: Part 1 Dose Escalation and Part 2 Dose Expansion.
NCT02262052
The Theia-study is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm management (cohort) study. Consecutive patients with clinically suspected acute, recurrent, ipsilateral, proximal deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of the leg, who fulfil all the inclusion criteria and meet none of the exclusion criteria, are eligible for inclusion and will be managed according to the result of a magnetic resonance direct thrombus imaging (MRDTI) of the affected leg. The MRDTI is to be performed and adjudicated within 24 hours of study inclusion. The final treatment decision will be made based on this ruling of the MRDTI. In case of a positive MRDTI signal, patients will be treated with therapeutically dosed anticoagulants or modified in patients with a recurrent DVT on anticoagulant therapy. Patients with a negative MRDTI ruling will be left untreated, or treatment will be remained unadjusted if they are on anticoagulant treatment at inclusion. All patients with negative MRDTI will be subjected to a standardized compression ultrasonography (CUS) within 48 hours after initial presentation. The latter CUS serves as a reference test in case the patient returns with symptoms of ipsilateral recurrence in the future, and will not be used for management decisions at baseline. The study flowchart can be found in Appendix A. All patients will be followed for three months for the occurrence of acute recurrent venous thrombo-embolism (VTE). In case of suspected recurrent VTE, objective testing including either computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) for PE or CUS for DVT will be performed. Additionally, in case of a proven ipsilateral recurrent DVT during follow-up, MRDTI will be repeated.
NCT03409679
This is a phase 3, multicenter, open-label, randomized active-controlled, parallel group to investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of intravenous murepavadin combined with of one anti-pseudononas antibiotic with that of two anti-pseudomonas antibiotics in the treatment of ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP) in adult subjects.
