NCT03541174
The goal of this clinical trial is to show the blood pressure lowering effect of aprocitentan, a new drug, when added to other anti-hypertensive drugs of patients with difficult to control (resistant) high blood pressure (hypertension), and to show that blood pressure reduction is kept for long period of time.
NCT03427411
Background: In the United States, each year there are more than 30,000 cases of human papillomavirus (HPV) associated cancers. Some of these cancers are often incurable and are not improved by standard therapies. Researchers want to see if a new drug M7824, which targets and blocks a pathway that prevents the immune system from effectively fighting the cancer can shrink tumors in people with some HPV cancers. Objectives: To see if the drug M7824 causes tumors to shrink. Eligibility: Adults age 18 and older who have a cancer associated with HPV infection. Design: Participants will be screened with medical history and physical exam. They will review their symptoms and how they perform normal activities. They will have body scans. They will give blood and urine samples. They will have a sample of their tumor tissue taken if one is not available. Participants will have an electrocardiogram to evaluate their heart. Then they will get the study drug through a thin tube in an arm vein. Participants will get the drug every 2 weeks for 26 times (1 year). This is 1 course. After the course, participants will be monitored but will not take the study drug. If their condition gets worse, they will start another course with the drug. This process can be repeated as many times as needed. Treatment will stop if the participant has bad side effects or the drug stops working. Throughout the study, participants will repeat some or all the screening tests. After participants stop taking the drug, they will have a follow-up visit and repeat some screening tests. They will get periodic follow-up phone calls.
NCT02726581
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of several combination therapies for Multiple Myeloma. Upon entry into the study, patients will be randomized (assigned by chance) to receive either: Group 1: nivolumab, pomalidomide and dexamethasone OR Group 2: pomalidomide and dexamethasone OR Group 3: nivolumab, elotuzumab, pomalidomide and dexamethasone. Enrollment is closed for all groups.
NCT00996970
The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the novel H1Nl influenza (inactivated/killed formulation) vaccine among both HIV-infected and HIV-uninfected persons. The administration of the H1Nl vaccination is not part of the study's procedures, but is being given as part of routine care.
NCT01238172
RATIONALE: Eating a diet high in vegetables may slow down disease progression in patients with prostate cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well diet works in altering disease progression in patients with prostate cancer on active surveillance.
NCT03507452
The purpose of this study is to evaluate, in patients with tumors known to express the protein mesothelin, the following properties of BAY2287411 injection: * safety (to identify, assess, minimize, and appropriately manage the risks associated to the study drug) * tolerability (the degree to which side effects can be tolerated by your body) * maximum tolerated dose * pharmacokinetics (the effect of your body on the study drug) * anti-tumor activity * recommended dose for further clinical development
NCT03616834
Phase 2, open-label study that will evaluate the safety, tolerability, antitumor activities.
NCT02599116
This study analyzes the gastrointestinal microbiome of appendiceal cancer patients with peritoneal spread scheduled to undergo cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC). Participants will provide fecal samples pre- and post-operatively.
NCT03190473
Indication for use: "The Svelte DES is indicated for improving coronary luminal diameter in patients with symptomatic heart disease, including patients with non-ST elevation MI due to discrete de novo native coronary artery lesions. The treated lesion length should be less than the nominal stent length with a reference vessel diameter of 2.25 mm - 4.00 mm
NCT00361296
RATIONALE: Vaccines made from cancer cells may help the body build an effective immune response to kill abnormal cells. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well vaccine therapy works in treating patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).
NCT03204305
All participants will be healthy volunteers and all procedures will be completed for research purposes only. Two groups will be recruited, females who use cannabis (marijuana, MJ), and female who do not use cannabis (controls). Female MJ users will be enrolled in a protocol that includes an outpatient drug administration session and a 4-day/3-night inpatient stay on the Johns Hopkins Bayview Clinical Research Unit (CRU). During outpatient visits, MJ users will have an MRI, and complete MJ self-administration and cognitive performance sessions. MJ users will then reside on the CRU,and complete MJ abstinence, and self-report instruments for withdrawal discomfort. A positron emission tomography (PET) scan of brain cannabinoid type 1 receptors will also be completed. Non-users will complete MRI, PET imaging and cognitive testing under an outpatient protocol (no MJ administration).
NCT03561207
This is a prospective, non-randomized, observational registry study evaluating a patient-specific ex vivo 3D (EV3D) assay for drug response using a patient's own biopsy or resected tumor tissue for assessing tissue response to therapy in patients with advanced cancers, including ovarian cancer, high-grade gliomas, and high-grade rare tumors.
NCT02872701
This is a phase 2, multi-center, single dose, open-label, exploratory study in suspected lung cancer patients scheduled to undergo endoscopic or thoracic surgery per CT/positron emission tomography imaging based on standard of care. This study aims to assess the efficacy of OTL38 and Near Infrared Imaging (NIR) at identifying pulmonary nodules within the operating theater, and to assess the safety and tolerability of single intravenous doses of OTL38.
NCT03060577
This clinical study was designed to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of long-term dosing of inclisiran and evolocumab given as subcutaneous injections in participants with high cardiovascular risk and elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
NCT04732949
The purpose of this Phase III study is to confirm that SNG001 can accelerate the recovery of hospitalised patients receiving oxygen with confirmed Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Safety and other efficacy endpoints will also be assessed.
NCT01059500
Overtesting for Acute Coronary Syndrome(ACS) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) in low risk Emergency Department(ED) patients can increase exposure of nondiseased patients to radiation, intravenous contrast and anticoagulation. This project addresses question of whether quantitative Pre-Test Probability(PTP) assessed from two validated web-based computer algorithms (the project "webtool"), can improve the diagnostic evaluation of adult patients with charted evidence of chest pain and dyspnea. After a validation phase, the main study will randomize patients to either the Standard care group or the Intervention group, which will receive the output of the ACS and PE webtool that includes the PTP estimates of ACS and PE and one of three recommendations regarding next steps: 1. No further testing, 2. Exclusion with a biomarker protocol, or 3. Immediate imaging +/- empiric anticoagulation.
NCT05763758
This study aims to identify spatiotemporal alterations in thalamocortical circuitry functioning in both healthy subjects and patients with chronic pain, combining multimodal neuroimaging.
NCT03775850
This study is being conducted to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of EDP1503 alone and in combination with pembrolizumab in patients with advanced metastatic colorectal carcinoma, triple-negative breast cancer, and checkpoint inhibitor relapsed tumors
NCT04730349
The purpose of this study is to first, in Part A, assess the safety, tolerability and drug levels of Bempegaldesleukin (BEMPEG) in combination with nivolumab and then, in Part B, to estimate the preliminary efficacy in children, adolescents and young adults with recurrent or treatment-resistant cancer.
