NCT00004933
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known if homoharringtonine is more effective than hydroxyurea for chronic myelogenous leukemia that has not responded to interferon alfa. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of homoharringtonine with that of hydroxyurea in treating patients who have chronic myelogenous leukemia that has not responded to interferon alfa.
NCT01798485
The purpose of this study is to determine whether combining ganetespib (STA-9090) with docetaxel is more effective than docetaxel alone in the treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT00053885
RATIONALE: PTK787/ZK 222584 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of PTK787/ZK 222584 in treating patients with unresectable malignant mesothelioma.
NCT01330316
The objective of this trial is to collect evidence for the safety and efficacy of 24 weeks of treatment with BI 201335 240 mg in combination with 24 or 48 weeks of Pegylated Interferon (PegIFN) and ribavirin (RBV) in treatment experienced patients who have been withdrawn from PegIFN and RBV treatment due to lack of efficacy in the 1220.7, 1220.30 and 1220.47 trials.
NCT00426660
To provide access to maraviroc to patients who have limited or no therapeutic treatment options and to collect more safety data in a broader patient population.
NCT00002622
RATIONALE: Talc may relieve malignant pleural effusion. It is not yet known whether wet talc is more effective than dry talc in treating patients with malignant pleural effusion. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of wet talc with dry talc in treating patients with malignant pleural effusion.
NCT00983749
The purpose of this study is to determine if external counterpulsation (ECP) is feasible to perform, tolerable, and safe as a treatment for patients with acute ischemic stroke (i.e., a blockage of one of the arteries supplying a part of the brain), and to assess what type of effect it might have on 1) the velocity of blood flow in the arteries supplying the brain and 2) stroke symptoms. The hypothesis of the study is that ECP will be feasible and safe to perform, and will be tolerable for patients with acute ischemic stroke at pressures that increase the velocity of arterial blood flow to the brain.
NCT00360243
This trial is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of flibanserin in the treatment of premenopausal women with Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) that meet standard diagnostic criteria. Efficacy for flibanserin will be assessed vs. a parallel placebo group.
NCT01284192
This study is to evaluate the safety and anti-tumor activity of ASP3026 in patients with advanced malignancies (solid tumors and B-cell lymphoma).
NCT01092325
A Phase 1-2a Study of CXL-1020-01 in Patients with Stable Heart Failure
NCT00360555
This trial is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of flibanserin in the treatment of premenopausal women with Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) that meets standard diagnostic criteria. Efficacy for flibanserin will be assessed vs. a parallel placebo group.
NCT00002494
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy and alternating regimens of chemotherapy in treating patients who have non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or acute lymphocytic leukemia.
NCT00003931
RATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as genetic testing, may improve the ability to detect acute myeloid leukemia and determine the extent of disease. PURPOSE: Diagnostic study to try to detect changes in the genes of patients who have acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT01587079
The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of Glycopyrrolate/Formoterol Fumarate MDI relative to individual components (GP MDI and FF MDI) in subjects with moderate to severe COPD
NCT00087607
This study will examine the viral kinetics and pharmacokinetics of Pegasys plus ribavirin and PEG-Intron plus ribavirin in interferon-naive patients with CHC. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT01955707
The primary objective of the study is to determine whether one 300 mg dose of intravenous (IV) natalizumab reduces change in infarct volume from Baseline to Day 5 on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in participants with acute ischemic stroke when given at ≤6 hours or at \>6 to ≤9 hours from when they were last known normal (LKN). The secondary objectives of this study in this study population are as follows: to assess the efficacy of natalizumab on change in infarct volume from Baseline to Day 30; to assess efficacy of natalizumab on change in infarct volume from 24 hours to Day 5 and Day 30; to assess the efficacy of natalizumab on clinical measures of stroke outcome; to assess the safety of natalizumab in participants with acute ischemic stroke.
NCT00002527
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development or recurrence of cancer. The use of aspirin may be an effective way to prevent the recurrence of polyps in colorectal cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of aspirin in treating patients who have stage I, stage II, or stage III colorectal cancer that has been surgically removed.
NCT00025025
RATIONALE: Screening tests may help doctors detect cancer cells early and plan more effective treatment for colorectal cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized screening trial to compare the effectiveness of fecal occult blood testing with that of DNA-based testing of stool and blood in identifying colorectal cancer.
NCT00948961
The main purpose of this study is to examine the safety and tolerability of CDX-1401 when given in combination with an immune stimulant (resiquimod) to patients with advanced cancers that are known to express the NY-ESO-1 protein.
NCT00701415
The purpose of this study was to determine whether 2 alternative dosing regimens of Fabrazyme (Agalsidase beta) (1.0 mg/kg every 4 weeks or 0.5 mg/kg every 2 weeks) were effective in treatment-naïve pediatric participants without severe symptoms. Participants were to be treated for 5 years.
