NCT00108251
The primary purpose of this study is to determine whether eplerenone has a beneficial effect on improving exercise ability in patients with diastolic heart failure.
NCT01290380
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential inhibitory effects of ASA404 on CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP3A4 and CYP2C19 mediated metabolism on the respective probe drugs caffeine, diclofenac, simvastatin, and omeprazole, respectively. This will be accomplished by the simultaneous administration of four substrates as part of a cocktail in order to characterize the potential for in-vivo drug-drug interactions. This cocktail approach has been proposed per FDA guidance as a screening tool for potential in-vivo drug-drug interactions Compared to the individual administration of specific probes in multiple studies, simultaneous administration of multiple in-vivo probes of drug-metabolizing enzymes offer several distinct advantages such as minimizing the confounding influence of inter-individual and intra-individual variability over time. Substrates for the CYP enzymes were chosen based on the FDA guidance recommendations taking into account that 1. The substrates are specific for the individual CYP enzymes, 2. There are no interactions among these substrates; and 3. The study will be conducted in a sufficient number of subjects.
NCT00137436
This is a multi-center, open-label, Phase 1/2 study of SU011248 (sunitinib malate, SUTENT) in combination with docetaxel and prednisone for the first-line treatment of metastatic hormone-refractory prostate cancer (mHRPC).
NCT00050167
Primary Objectives: * Determine the impact of each regimen on the disease free and overall survival of patients with operable breast cancer. * Determine the ability of docetaxel/capecitabine to downstage primary breast cancer when administered in the neoadjuvant setting when compared with weekly paclitaxel. * Determine the ability of each regimen to enhance breast conservation therapy when administered in the neoadjuvant setting. (See protocol text for additional objectives and details).
NCT00195702
The purpose of the study was to assess the safety, immunogenicity, and clinical efficacy of adalimumab compared with placebo (during double-blind phase) and to to evaluate the long-term safety and maintenance of efficacy following repeated administration of adalimumab (during open-label extension phase) in patients with persistently active rheumatoid arthritis who were receiving concurrent methotrexate therapy.
NCT00877383
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of indacaterol (150 µg once daily \[od\]) when combined with tiotropium (18 µg od) versus tiotropium (18 µg od) treatment alone in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00369928
This will be a 12-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter study to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and PK of oral administration of PG-760564 in adult patients with active RA receiving treatment with MTX. Two oral doses of PG-760564 will be evaluated: 25 mg BID and 100 mg BID. The study will consist of a screening visit followed by a washout period for all disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and anti-cytokine therapies except MTX. After the washout period, patients determined to be eligible will be randomized to receive either 25 mg BID or 100 mg BID of oral PG-760564, or placebo for 12 weeks. There will be 6 treatment visits and a follow-up visit 4 weeks after the last treatment visit. The primary efficacy endpoint will be the proportion of patients meeting the ACR 20 response criteria after 12 weeks of treatment.
NCT00916565
The purpose of this study is to look at the function of infant formula components to optimize the nutritional content and functionality of a marketed routine infant formula.
NCT01293201
The overall development plan is to show that the combination of tried-and-proven decongestant/antihistamine ingredients (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and chlorpheniramine maleate), plus a very small amount of belladonna alkaloids (.24 mg atropine sulfate) is a comprehensive, safe and effective B.I.D. drug treatment regimen, indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Treated symptoms include nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose, itchy/watery eyes, and post nasal drip syndrome \[reduction in tickly cough (acute or chronic), mucus in the back of the throat, sore throat, and hoarseness\]. Considering the favorable safety and efficacy results of Phase 1 and Phase 2, the purpose of Phase 3 is to assess and compare the safety and efficacy of the study drug in a larger group comparatively with a placebo control group. Objectives: A) To report and compare total symptom scores (TSS) by SAR subjects rating the efficacy of STAHIST vs. placebo in relieving nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, nasal itching, sneezing, and post-nasal drip over the two-week study period. B) Report any side effects or adverse drug reactions and rate the severity of any incident. C) Compare and report each symptom score, total nasal symptom scores (TNSS), and post-nasal drip symptom scores (PND-S) between the two study arms.
NCT00454181
This is a study to test lozenges of interferon-alpha that are dissolved in the mouth as a treatment of oral warts in HIV-positive adults. The hypothesis of this study is that interferon-alpha will be safe and that a higher percentage of subjects given interferon-alpha will experience a complete or nearly complete remission of their oral warts compared to subjects given placebo.
NCT00847990
The purpose of this study is to determine if a laboratory test developed by the Sequenom Center for Molecular Medicine (SCMM) that uses a new marker found in the mother's blood can better identify pregnancies that have a child with a chromosome abnormality such as Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18), or other chromosome abnormality.
NCT01299415
This trial is designed to study the drug-drug interaction between ASA404 and fluvoxamine, an inhibitor of its metabolic pathway (CYP1A2). The study will consist of two phases. The purpose of the Core Phase is to study the drug drug interaction between fluvoxamine and ASA404. The purpose of the Extension Phase is to provide continued treatment for those patients that have not progressed during the Core Phase and to collect safety data on ASA404 when given in combination with paclitaxel, docetaxel or the paclitaxel plus carboplatin chemotherapy regimen.
NCT01408095
The study is designed to see if once daily oral dosing of LY2608204 will help control diabetes as measured by the glycosylated fraction of hemoglobin A (HbA1c) level. It will also help to determine the safety of the medication and the most useful doses of the medication.
NCT00484536
The objective of the study is to evaluate the effect, safety and tolerability of CDP323 in patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis
NCT01055574
The purpose of this study is to compare the physical capability outcomes of patients who undergo single-level ProDisc-L disc replacement with those of patients who undergo stand-alone, single-level anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF). This study will be the first multi-center clinical study to use clearly measurable outcomes from physical tests to compare the results of lumbar disc arthroplasty with disc fusion.
