NCT00271154
Heart failure is a progressive disease that decreases the pumping action of the heart. This may cause a backup of fluid in the heart and may result in heart beat changes. When there are changes in the heart beat sometimes an implantable heart device is used to control the rate and rhythm of the heart beat. The purpose of the REVERSE clinical trial is to determine whether pacing in both the left and right ventricles using Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) can help slow the progression of heart failure in people who have mild or previous symptoms and poor heart pumping function. This kind of therapy has previously been shown to reduce symptoms and improve exercise capacity in people with more advanced forms of heart failure.
NCT00566787
RESTORE-SR study is a multi-center, prospective, nonrandomized study with case matched concurrent controls to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the AtriCure Bipolar System
NCT00423813
The objective of this trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Xyrem® compared to placebo for the treatment of fibromyalgia in a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, parallel group trial.
NCT00423709
1. To determine the feasibility and toxicity of employing allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation after intensive but non-myeloablative chemotherapy in patients with relapsed Hodgkin's disease (HD). 2. To determine the engraftment kinetics and degree of chimerism that can be achieved with this strategy. 3. To assess the antitumor activity of this approach in high-risk HD patients and the possible presence of a graft-vs-HD effect.
NCT00042250
To determine cell cycle parameters and changes after treatment, the labelling agent is given and a bone marrow aspiration is accomplished before treatment and after treatment for comparison. Participants must be undergoing concurrent therapy for hematologic malignancy.
NCT00772031
The purpose of this study is to compare the reduction in the number of severe headache days at six months in people with chronic migraine treated with topiramate and propranolol versus those treated with topiramate and a placebo.
NCT00501735
This is a Phase II, non-randomized, open-label, single-arm trial that will be conducted at up to 50 sites in North America, Europe and Australia. This study is designed to assess objective response (OR) \[complete response (CR) or partial response (PR)\] in subjects with cutaneous manifestations of CTCL with a requirement for maintenance of such objective response for at least 28 days in subjects with stage IIB, III, and IVA CTCL. Additionally, this study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of CTCL subjects Stages IB, IIA, IIB, III, or IVA treated with oral forodesine.
NCT01514266
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer are leading causes of death and health care use. Diffuse airways inflammation is seen in COPD and is thought to be the reason for deterioration of lung function in COPD. Currently there is no medication available that can modify or reduce this inflammation. Furthermore, from literature review it has been shown that chronic inflammation can result in cancerous changes. Curcumin is a food additive used for centuries. Several studies showed that curcumin suppress the different inflammatory pathways. Specially, the TNF-alpha and the NF kappa-b are down regulated by this substance. This study was designed to evaluate effect of combination of curcumin+Bioprine on sputum cytology in patients with COPD. This is double-blind randomized pilot study.
NCT00289562
A Phase I/II, Multi-Center, Open-Label, Repeat-Dose Study of Forodesine Hydrochloride Infusion in Patients with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with an Option of Extended Use of Forodesine Hydrochloride
NCT00095381
BCX-1777 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. The Phase II trial is designed to study the effectiveness of BCX-1777 in treating patients who have recurrent or refractory advanced T-cell leukemia. Patients will receive an infusion of BCX-1777 on days 1-5. Treatment may be repeated every week for up to six courses. Patients are not required to be hospitalized for the administration of BCX-1777. Some patients may continue to receive an infusion of BCX-1777 twice a week for 6 weeks.
NCT00151749
The purpose of the study is to see how safe and effective and tolerable the use of WelChol® is for type 2 diabetes when added to insulin alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic drugs
NCT00526331
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the early identification and more precise intervention of operating room (OR) patient fluid administration optimization using arterial pressure-based cardiac output (APCO) yields comparable patient outcome as fluid administration optimization using a global standard care method.
NCT00782301
Confirm the safety of maraviroc when used as a component of combination antiretroviral therapy in HIV and Hepatitis co-infected patients.
NCT00772928
This study is designed to evaluate in a controlled manner the effect of Prevnar® on the immune responses of Pentacel™ Primary Objective - Stage I: To compare the immune responses elicited by an infant series of Pentacel™ when given at different times from or concurrently with a Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (Prevnar®). Primary Objective - Stage II: To compare the immune responses elicited by a 4th dose of Pentacel™ when given at different times from or concurrently with Prevnar®.
NCT00295854
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of 8 weeks of treatment with MN-001 at 500 mg bid, 500 mg once daily vs. placebo in patients with Interstitial Cystitis.
NCT01129648
To evaluate safety and efficacy of BCX4208 alone and in combination with allopurinol in subjects with gout.
NCT00985127
The study will be conducted in two parts. The first is a parallel-group design, evaluating doses of 40 mg, 80 mg or 120 mg BCX-4208. The second part is planned as a dose-escalation study, evaluating higher doses including 160 mg, 240 mg and 320 mg BCX-4208. The study's primary endpoint is the change in uric acid in the blood compared to baseline measurement prior to treatment, assessed on Day 22.
NCT00883090
Congenital deficiency of Factor XIII is an extremely rare hereditary disorder associated with potentially life-threatening bleeding. This study will evaluate the safety and recommended (best) amount or level of Factor XIII in a patient's blood. Factor XIII Concentrate (Human) is given to people whose blood is lacking Factor XIII. Factor XIII Concentrate (Human) works by assisting your blood in the usual clotting process, thereby preventing bleeding.
