NCT01849874
The MILO Study (MEK Inhibitor in Low-grade Serous Ovarian Cancer) is a Phase 3 study during which patients with recurrent or persistent low-grade serous (LGS) carcinomas of the ovary, fallopian tube or primary peritoneum will receive either investigational study drug MEK162 or a chemotherapy chosen by the physician (liposomal doxorubicin, paclitaxel or topotecan). Patients will be followed to compare the effectiveness of the study drug to that of the selected chemotherapies. Patients may be eligible to crossover from physician's choice chemotherapy to MEK162 if they meet certain inclusion criteria including centrally confirmed disease progression. Approximately 360 patients from North America, Europe and Australia will be enrolled in this study.
NCT00007735
In 1990 and 1991, the U.S. deployed approximately 700,000 troops to the Persian Gulf to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation. While there were few casualties associated with the Gulf War, many individuals returned from this conflict with unexplained symptoms and illnesses. This constellation of symptoms has been termed Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses (GWI). Although several explanations have been offered as to the cause of GWI, none of the putative etiologic agents or conditions is currently supported by sufficient evidence. One explanation that has received fairly widespread attention is systemic Mycoplasma fermentans infection. It is the purpose of this study to determine if antibiotic treatment directed against Mycoplasma species (i.e. doxycycline) will improve functioning and symptoms in deployed Gulf War veterans with GWI.
NCT04667377
This study is open to adults, aged 18 to 75 years, with overweight or obesity. People with body mass index (BMI) of 27 or higher to join the study. People who have diabetes cannot participate. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 456906 helps people lose weight. Participants are put into 5 groups by chance. 4 groups get different doses of BI 456906. The fifth group gets placebo. Participants get BI 456906 or placebo as injections under the skin once a week. Placebo injections look like BI 456906 injections but do not contain any medicine. Participants are in the study for about a year. During this time, there are about 20 in-person visits to the study site. At the study site visits, doctors measure participants' body weight. Results are compared between the BI 456906 groups and the placebo group. The doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.

NCT04627038
This study is being done to test the safety and efficacy of LY3556050 for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain. This trial is part of the chronic pain master protocol, H0P-MC-CPMP (NCT05986292), which is a protocol to accelerate the development of new treatments for chronic pain.
NCT00414648
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease of women that is caused by genetic mutations. It results in the uncontrolled growth of an unusual type of smooth muscle cell in the lung. These cells invade lung tissue, including the airways, blood vessels, and lymph vessels, and restrict the flow of air, blood, and lymph, respectively. Respiratory failure, lung collapse (pneumothorax), and pleural effusions (chylothorax) are hallmarks of the disease. This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of sirolimus, an inhibitor of the mTOR pathway, in stabilizing or improving lung function in people with LAM.
NCT01967888
The study is a phase 2/3, multicenter, double-blind, parallel assignment study. It involves 100 adult recipients of an intra-hepatic pancreatic Islet Auto-Transplantation (IAT). The objective of this clinical trial is to assess whether reparixin leads to improved transplant outcome as measured by the proportion of insulin-independent patients following IAT. The safety of reparixin in the specific clinical setting will be also evaluated.
NCT04163458
Development of multiple follicles and pregnancy in ovulatory women undergoing controlled ovarian stimulation as part of an assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycle.
NCT05721898
Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and structural deterioration of bone tissue leading to bone fragility (i.e., weakness) and an increased risk for fracture. Bone strength is a critical factor in a bone's ability to resist fracture and is clearly an important outcome in studies of osteoporosis. The current standard for assessing bone health and diagnosing osteoporosis is to use dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) to quantify the areal bone mineral density (BMD), typically at the hip and spine. However, DXA-derived BMD has limited discriminatory accuracy for distinguishing individuals that experience fragility fracture from those who do not. One well known limitation of DXA-derived BMD is that it does not adequately assay bone strength. There is a critical unmet need to identify persons more accurately with diminished bone strength who are at high risk of experiencing a fragility fracture in order to determine an appropriate therapy. A potential new diagnostic approach to assess skeletal health and improve osteoporosis diagnosis is the use of Cortical Bone Mechanics Technology (CBMT). CBMT leverages multifrequency vibration analysis to conduct a noninvasive, dynamic 3-point bending test that makes direct, mechanical measurements of ulnar cortical bone. Data indicates that CBMT-derived ulnar flexural rigidity accurately estimates ulnar whole bone strength and provides information about cortical bone that is unique and independent of DXA-derived BMD. However, the clinical utility of CBMT-derived flexural rigidity has not yet been demonstrated. The investigators have designed a clinical study to assess the accuracy of CBMT-derived ulnar flexural rigidity in discriminating post-menopausal women who have suffered a fragility fracture from those who have not. These data will be compared to DXA-derived peripheral and central measures of BMD obtained from the same subjects.
