NCT00608881
The goals of this trial are to determine if coenzyme Q10 is effective in slowing the worsening symptoms of Huntington's disease and to learn about the safety and acceptability of long-term coenzyme Q10 use by determining its effects on people with Huntington's disease.
NCT01082549
To evaluate the overall survival (OS) of patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer receiving the combination of gemcitabine/carboplatin either with or without Iniparib. Based on data generated by BiPar/Sanofi, it is concluded that iniparib does not possess characteristics typical of the PARP inhibitor class. The exact mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, however based on experiments on tumor cells performed in the laboratory, iniparib is a novel investigational anti-cancer agent that induces gamma-H2AX (a marker of DNA damage) in tumor cell lines, induces cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase in tumor cell lines, and potentiates the cell cycle effects of DNA damaging modalities in tumor cell lines. Investigations into potential targets of iniparib and its metabolites are ongoing.
NCT01727141
This study will assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of QVA149 in patients with moderate to severe airflow limitation.
NCT00580216
The objective is to evaluate whether once weekly subcutaneous (SC) injection of idrabiotaparinux sodium (biotinylated idraparinux) is at least as efficient to prevent clots in brain and in the other organs than oral international normalized ratio (INR) adjusted-dose warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).
NCT00024167
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radioactive substances such as strontium-89 may relieve bone pain associated with prostate cancer. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy is more effective with or without strontium-89 in treating bone metastases. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying giving chemotherapy together with strontium-89 to see how well it works compared to chemotherapy alone in treating patients with prostate cancer that has spread to the bone.
NCT02255123
This study is a multicenter, non-randomized, retrospective study to collect long term (4 years post-transplant) clinical outcome data on subjects previously enrolled in the CTOT-05 study (NCT00466804) to evaluate participant and graft survival.
NCT02156375
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) (blood levels) comparability of 2 different formulations of ustekinumab, 90 milligram per milliliter (mg/mL) liquid in vial (LIV) and 5 mg/mL LIV, following a single intravenous administration of 6 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) ustekinumab, diluted in saline, in healthy participants.
NCT01128452
This study is a 4-week, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled monotherapy study in patients with treatment-resistant major depression. After confirmation of treatment-resistance in a prospective treatment period with citalopram, each patient will be treated with either EVT 101 once daily or placebo for 28 consecutive days.
NCT01433354
The purpose of this study is to generate long-term safety, tolerability and efficacy data for AFQ056 in eligible adolescent patients with FXS who have participated in the CAFQ056B2214 study, the PK study CAFQ056B2131, or another study of AFQ056 which included FXS patients below 18 years of age provided the patient is at least 12 years of age at the time of entry into the current study.
NCT01305564
The Bard® Denali™ Retrievable Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) study is a prospective, multi-center study which is intended to provide evidence of safety of the placement and retrieval of the Bard® Denali™ Retrievable Inferior Vena Cava Filter in subjects requiring IVC interruption to protect against pulmonary embolism (PE).
NCT01825330
The study tests the effect of the NeuroAD on Alzheimer patients' cognitive function. The NeuroAD uses non-invasive stimulation of both magnetic and cognitive training.
NCT00311090
The three purposes of this study are the following: * To compare during a 6-month treatment the safety and effectiveness of idrabiotaparinux (SSR126517) with that of idraparinux (SR34006), taking into account new events of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and bleeding risk; * To compare the activities of idrabiotaparinux and idraparinux directly in blood during and after a 6-month treatment; * To check the ability of avidin (SSR29261) to reverse the blood thinning activity of idrabiotaparinux at the end of a 6-month treatment period.
NCT02013531
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of flexibly dosed adjunctive brexpiprazole treatment in subjects with major depressive disorder and anxiety symptoms, who are experiencing an inadequate selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)/serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) response.
NCT00543725
The purpose of this trial is to compare the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of TMC278 given at a dose of 25 mg once daily versus efavirenz (EFV) at a dose of 600 mg once daily, when combined with a background regimen containing 2 nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors ( investigator choice of ABC/3TC, TDF/FTC or AZT/3TC) in HIV-1 infected patients who have not yet taken any anti-HIV drugs. The following evaluations will be done: antiviral activity, immunologic changes, and viral geno-/phenotype evolution, relationship of Pharmacokinetics (PK) and PK/Pharmacodynamics and Medical resource utilization and treatment adherence.
NCT00983892
Given the growing strain on the Veterans Administration resulting from increasing caseloads of cancer patients, interventions are badly needed that assist patients in managing their illness, improve quality of life and avoid acute episodes that result in urgent care use and increased mortality. Previous studies have found that cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy can effectively manage their own symptoms when monitored using automated telephone calls. Such technology, however, may challenge the number of Veterans who lack social support and/or independence. The goal was to develop and test a technology that not only monitors patients automatically by telephone, but also gives them self management advice and engages a friend or family member to serve as a CarePartner willing to play a limited role in identifying patient symptoms and psychosocial needs to reinforce self management and provide social support. The investigators found that this technology indeed helped patients better control their symptoms, especially when a caregiver participated in the program along with them.
NCT02228850
The purpose of this study is to evaluate pharmacodynamics (PD) in adult subjects with a diagnosis of Raynaud's Phenomenon secondary to Systemic Sclerosis (SSc).
NCT01377233
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of once weekly dosing of zicronapine, compared to daily dosing of zicronapine.
NCT00567541
The goal of this research study is to investigate safety and gather initial effectiveness data for a new implanted device designed to treat chronic shoulder pain in chronic post-stroke subjects. The BBPM weighs less than 0.03 ounces and measures 1" x 0.1". It is implanted into the shoulder to stimulate the axillary nerve. Stimulation of this nerve may reduce shoulder pain, reduce shoulder subluxation, improve motion, improve function, and possibly decrease use of pain medication. CAUTION--Investigational device. Limited by Federal law to investigational use.
NCT00954486

The secondary objectives of this study are to assess the ability of epoetin alfa to improve physical function; cognitive function; and quality of life, and to assess the safety of epoetin alfa in the study population.
NCT02723071
This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and anti-tumor efficacy of ocrelizumab in participants with progressive follicular NHL.
