NCT01272219
This trial is conducted in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America. The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the potential of liraglutide to induce and maintain weight loss over 56 weeks in obese subjects or overweight subjects with co-morbidities. Furthermore, the aim is to investigate the long term potential of liraglutide to delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in subjects diagnosed with pre-diabetes at baseline. Based on body mass index (BMI) and pre-diabetes status, subjects will be randomised to either 68 weeks (56 weeks of randomised treatment followed by a 12 week re-randomised treatment period) or 160 weeks of treatment (160 week treatment will only be applicable to subjects with pre-diabetes status at baseline).
NCT02649478
A Randomized, Parallel-Group, Placebo-Controlled, Clinical Endpoint Bioequivalence Study of Generic Fluticasone Propionate 100 µg and Salmeterol Xinafoate 50 µg Inhalation Powder Compared with Advair Diskus® 100/50 in Subjects with Asthma
NCT01086384
This study will establish the safety as well as demonstrate benefit of the addition of a LABA to an ICS by utilizing an endpoint (time to first severe asthma exacerbation) that informs on both safety and efficacy.
NCT01000506
The purpose of this study is to show whether mepolizumab given every 4 weeks intravenously (i.v.) can reduce the frequency of asthma exacerbations in subjects with severe asthma despite receiving high doses of standard asthma medications. The study will look at different doses of mepolizumab in comparison to a placebo.
NCT00200967
The purpose of this trial is to determine whether regularly scheduled use of an inhaled long-acting beta agonist (salmeterol) in the setting of concomitant use of inhaled corticosteroids (beclomethasone hydroflouroalkane (HFA) inhaler) will have a detrimental effect on asthma control in people who bear the B16-Arg/Arg genotype of the beta-2 adrenergic receptor gene, as compared to people with asthma of similar severity who bear the B16-Gly/Gly genotype.
NCT01685372
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Fluzone High Dose increases the immune response to the influenza antigens contained in the vaccine compared to standard-dose Fluzone in immunocompromised children and young adults. Safety and efficacy data will also be collected.
NCT02649777
The role of oxidative stress in disease pathology is increasingly recognized. At present, the development of biomarkers of this state is in its infancy and the availability of clinically validated assays is lacking. This study will better determine normal values for specific biomarkers of oxidative stress. It will also investigate normal values of taurine, a natural occurring oxidative stress protectant. A primary and specific application of this data is for the evaluation of oxidative stress, levels of the natural protectant taurine, and of associated inflammation in the context of cystathionine β-synthase (ClinicalTrials.gov study: Oxidative Stress Markers in Inherited Homocystinuria and the Impact of Taurine).
NCT02137226
Primary Objective: The primary objective of this trial is to establish an equivalence in efficacy between BI 695501 and US-licensed Humira® in patients with active Rheumatoid arthritis based on a statistical comparison of the proportion of patients meeting American College of Rheumatology 20% (ACR20) response rate at Week 12 and ACR20 response rate at Week 24 between BI 695501 and US-licensed Humira®. Secondary Objectives: The secondary objectives of this trial are to compare the efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of BI 695501 and US-licensed Humira® in patients with active RA including those undergoing the transition from US-licensed Humira® to BI 695501 after 24 weeks.
NCT02537470
This is a dose-ranging study to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of a range of doses of a biphasic formulation of remogliflozin etabonate compared to placebo, administered over 12 weeks in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
NCT00897663
RATIONALE: Studying samples of tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors predict how patients will respond to treatment. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is looking at tissue samples from patients with glioblastoma multiforme to identify biomarkers that may improve the selection of patients for epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor therapies.
NCT02348723
The primary objective of this trial is to assess the safety of an uninterrupted dabigatran etexilate periprocedural anticoagulant regimen compared to an uninterrupted warfarin regimen in Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation (NVAF) patients undergoing Atrial Fibrillation (AF) ablation in a PROBE (Prospective, randomized, open label, blinded end point) active controlled study. Secondary objectives are to assess additional safety endpoints and efficacy in this clinical setting. It is not intended to assess confirmatory hypothesis, this is an exploratory study.
NCT01764841
The purpose of this study is to evaluate if the time to first pulmonary exacerbation of bronchiectasis or its frequency can be prolonged by inhalation of ciprofloxacin for 28 days every other 28 days or for 14 days every other 14 days over 48 weeks.
NCT02257619
The primary objectives of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of itacitinib in combination with docetaxel and to select doses for further evaluation (Part 1, safety run-in portion).
NCT01777334
The purpose of this 24 week study is to evaluate the spirometric lung function effect (trough FEV1) of Umeclidinium/Vilanterol 62.5/25 once daily compared to Tiotropium 18 mcg once daily along with safety assessments in subjects with COPD.
NCT00718718
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of subcutaneous (under the skin) administration of anti-interleukin-6 monoclonal antibody (CNTO 136) in reducing signs and symptoms of participants with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with methotrexate (MTX) therapy.
NCT02471183
This study enrolls patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) treated with inhaled treprostinil. During the study, the treatment with inhaled treprostinil will be tapered off and simultaneously replaced with an oral treatment (selexipag) targeting the disease in a similar way. The purpose of the study is i) to investigate the safety and tolerability of oral selexipag in patients who transition from inhaled treprostinil, ii) to investigate the effects of oral selexipag on PAH severity and exercise ability before and after transition, and iii) to gain new information about the patients experience taking oral selexipag compared to inhaled treprostinil. Study participants may stay in the study until the FDA has granted marketing authorization.
NCT02352467
The aim of this trial is to demonstrate the effectiveness of complete wound healing in a prospective, open-label, randomized trial in which pressure ulcers will be treated using Aurix and standard care and compared 1:1 to patients receiving undefined Usual and Customary Care.
NCT02934360
The TR(ACE) Assay is a quantitative in vitro diagnostic test run on the TR(ACE) Instrument intended for the measurement of high molecular weight human DNA from plasma as an aid to monitoring disease progression or response to therapy or recurrent or residual disease.
NCT02105974
This is a Phase IIIa, multicenter, randomized, stratified (reversibility status), double-blind, parallel-group study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of FF/VI 100/25 micrograms (mcg) once daily (QD) compared with VI 25 mcg QD, administered in the morning via the ELLIPTA™ inhaler. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the contribution on lung function (as measured by trough forced expiratory volume in one second \[FEV1\]) of FF 100 mcg to the FF/VI 100/25 mcg QD combination by comparison of the latter with VI 25 mcg QD and the safety of FF/VI 100/25 mcg over a 12-week treatment period in subjects with COPD. ELLIPTA™ is a registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline.
