NCT03233269
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the BEATS music therapy program on the self-efficacy, trust, knowledge, and adherence of young adult patients with SCD. Primary Hypotheses: Compared to baseline, young adult patients with SCD who receive the music therapy interventions will report: Higher sickle cell self-efficacy as measured by the Sickle Cell Self Efficacy Scale (SCSES), Higher trust in health care providers as measured by the Wake Forest Trust in the Medical Profession Scale, and Higher SCD knowledge as measured by the Seidman Sickle Cell Knowledge Quiz. Secondary Hypotheses Compared to the one year prior to the study period, young adults with SCD who receive the music therapy interventions will have a higher rate of adherence to clinic appointments during the one-year study period. Additional Questions Do music therapy interventions influence the rate of hospital utilization as measured by ED visits, Acute Care Clinic (ACC) visits, and admissions during the study period compared to the previous year? Do music therapy interventions influence adherence to hydroxyurea therapy for patients receiving hydroxyurea as measured by change in mean corpuscular volume (MCV) during the study period? Do music therapy interventions influence adherence to iron chelation therapy for patients receiving iron chelation therapy as measured by ferritin count during the study period? Does the schedule of music therapy interventions in this study improve outcomes more significantly than the schedule of music therapy interventions from \[IRB# 03-15-30\]?
NCT01833169
The purpose of this signal seeking study was is to determine whether treatment with BKM120 demonstrates sufficient efficacy in select pathway-activated solid tumors and/or hematologic malignancies to warrant further study.
NCT00744952
Assessing disease activity in people with Takayasu's arteritis is difficult, as most people with the disease do not exhibit visible, measurable symptoms. Combination positron emission tomography/computed axial tomography (PET/CT) is a particularly sensitive, accurate scanning method that may improve researchers' ability to evaluate people with the disease. This study will determine the effectiveness of PET/CT in assessing disease activity in people with Takayasu's arteritis.
NCT03175354
This is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ALX-101 Gel 1.5% and 5% and a matching ALX-101 Gel Vehicle when applied topically twice daily for 42 days to adult and adolescent subjects with moderate atopic dermatitis.
NCT01755546
The purpose of the long-terms study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and analgesic efficacy of EN3409 in subjects with moderate to severe chronic pain requiring continuous around-the-clock opioid analgesia for an extended period of time.
NCT03377426
The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether LYS228 can be developed for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections
NCT01030562
The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the body's response to a human papillomavirus (HPV) (sexually transmitted disease), vaccine and booster shot. The study will also determine factors related to adolescents not following vaccination schedules. The HPV vaccine requires 3 doses (shots). Girls sometimes receive the 3 shots at the recommended time and sometimes girls receive the shots at non-recommended times. This study will evaluate if getting the shots at non-recommended times affects the level of protection provided by the vaccine. Participants will include about 1400 girls 9-17 years old receiving a third dose of HPV vaccine from their primary care clinician. The parent/legal guardian of each subject may answer a questionnaire related to the vaccine schedule. Study procedures include: medical history, questionnaires and blood draws. Participants will be involved in the study for about 6 months from time of enrollment.
NCT00965380
The purpose of this study is to utilize Trinity Evolution in conjunction with an interbody spacer and supplemental posterior fixation of the surgeon's choice and to follow the patients to measure the clinical outcomes and rate of fusion. The hypothesis of the study is that Trinity Evolution combined with an interbody spacer and supplemental posterior fixation will result in fusion rates and clinical outcomes similar to those with other routinely used autograft and allograft materials including: fusion, improvement in pain and function, maintenance of lower extremity neurological function, and absence of serious adverse events related to the use of the Trinity Evolution product.
NCT01406561
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of OMS103HP solution for Injection (OMS103HP-S) and function as measured by the Knee Osteoarthritis Outcome Survey (KOOS) Symptoms subscale through Day 30 compared with vehicle irrigation solution for knee symptoms in subjects undergoing meniscectomy.
NCT01751165
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of the GSK Biologicals' HZ vaccine 1437173A administered on either a 0,2-; 0,6- or 0,12-month schedule in adults aged 50 years or above, as the immunogenicity of the HZ vaccine administered at intervals longer than two months is not known.
NCT02109562
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of RBP-7000 compared with placebo in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia. This will be a double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase III study with 90 mg and 120 mg doses of RBP-7000 compared with placebo over an 8-week treatment period.

NCT00516256
The aims include: 1. To measure the effect of the three study conditions on Quality of Life (QOL). * CHESS and Cancer Information Mentor will not differ initially (6 weeks) or late in treatment (6 months) in QOL * CHESS +Cancer Information Mentor will have the largest impact on QOL (initially and late in treatment) and will be significantly better than either CHESS or Cancer Information Mentor alone. 2. To measure potential intervening or mediating processes, so that we can determine how CHESS and the Cancer Information Mentor produce associated QOL benefits. 3. To conduct exploratory use analyses examining which types of CHESS content, sequential patterns of content use, or other characteristics of use behavior are associated with greater pretest-posttest improvements in QOL. 4. To conduct a secondary analysis exploring whether men whose partners have actively used CHESS do better than those whose partners did not use CHESS.
