NCT00395018
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if the study drug entecavir will prevent the recurrence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in participants who receive an orthotopic liver transplant (OLT) due to HBV infection.
NCT00004912
RATIONALE: Megestrol helps improve appetite. Exercise may decrease cancer-related fatigue, improve strength, and build up lost muscle tissue. Exercise plus megestrol may be effective treatment for cancer-related weight loss. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of megestrol plus exercise to improve appetite, increase strength, gain lean body tissue, and decrease fatigue in patients who have cancer-related weight loss.
NCT00813527
The purpose of this study is to compare changes in cholesterol levels in patients with elevated blood cholesterol with administration of lapaquistat acetate, once daily (QD), and fenofibrate.
NCT00286481
The purpose of this study is to evaluate lapaquistat acetate, once daily (QD), taken alone or with simvastatin on cholesterol levels in treating patients with elevated cholesterol.
NCT00865228
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of time of dosing on the lipid-lowering effects of lapaquistat acetate, once daily (QD) or twice daily (BID), in subjects with hypercholesterolemia.
NCT00143676
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of lapaquistat acetate, once daily (QD), on lowering cholesterol in subjects already taking atorvastatin.
NCT00143663
The purpose of this study is to determine if patients with elevated cholesterol, but not taking any other lipid medication, could lower their cholesterol with administration of lapaquistat acetate, once daily (QD).
NCT01463085
The purpose of this study is to determine if increased consumption of low-fat dairy can reduce blood pressure and improve endothelial function in men and women with pre or stage-1 hypertension.
NCT00813488
Evaluate the efficacy of treatment with the fentanyl buccal tablet (FBT) compared with immediate release oxycodone treatment in alleviating breakthrough pain (BTP) in opioid tolerant patients with chronic pain.
NCT00345631
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Ensure Medical Vascular Closure Device is more effective than standard manual compression at sealing the puncture made in the femoral artery following a cardiac or peripheral diagnostic or interventional procedure while maintaining the same level of safety.
NCT00463047
Evaluate the efficacy of treatment with Fentanyl Buccal Tablets (FBT) compared with immediate release oxycodone in alleviating breakthrough pain in opioid tolerant patients with chronic pain.
NCT00488267
ThermoProfen is a transdermal ketoprofen patch that is integrated with a long-lasting CHADD (Controlled Heat-Assisted Drug Delivery) unit for the treatment of chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis. This study will evaluate ThermoProfen for the treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee in adults.
NCT00110799
SB497115 is an oral agent which activates the thrombopoietin receptor and increases platelet counts in healthy volunteers. This study is examining several different doses of SB497115 as a treatment for patients with chronic hepatitis C-related thrombocytopenia who are potential candidates for antiviral treatment with pegylated interferon and ribavirin. The study will be conducted in two phases, Parts 1 and 2. In Part 1, study subjects will be randomized to 4 weeks of SB-497115-GR or placebo administered daily without antiviral therapy. Subjects who successfully complete Part 1 (platelet count 70,000/µL for Pegasys and platelet count 100,000/µL for PEG-Intron) will then proceed to Part 2. In Part 2, subjects will receive an additional 8 weeks of SB-497115-GR or placebo administered daily with antiviral therapy.
NCT01204996
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and dose regimen of CNTO 888 when administered to patients with solid tumors in combination with 4 standard of care chemotherapy regimens.
NCT00130390
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nitazoxanide compared to a placebo in reducing the signs and symptoms of mild to moderate active Crohn's disease in adults.
NCT00240747
Open-label, multicenter, multiple-dose, study of population pharmacokinetics of I.V. Synercid (7.5 mg/kg every 8 hours) in 75 pediatric patients. The purpose is to assess the population pharmacokinetics of Synercid in pediatric patients and to collect additional safety and efficacy data in pediatric patients.
NCT00088556
The purpose of this trial is to study the efficacy and safety of the triplet combination of TLK286, carboplatin and paclitaxel as first-line therapy for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT01234701

NCT00053248
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth. Combining chemotherapy with imatinib mesylate may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining arsenic trioxide with imatinib mesylate in treating patients who have chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia.
