NCT02279290
This randomized controlled trial uses a modularized cognitive behavioral resilience training (MCBRT) intervention to probe risk and resilience mechanisms linked to post-trauma psychopathology. Ninety participants with a history of interpersonal trauma during childhood or adolescence and mild to moderate distress will be randomized to MCBRT or a health education control condition. The primary aims of this proposal are to examine whether individuals who receive MCBRT demonstrate increases in psychological resilience, biological resilience, and extinction learning compared to those in the control group. This study will also explore associations between these psychobiobehavioral risk and resilience factors.
NCT03062345
Virtual reality is a video game in which a person and their real-time movements are represented on a screen in a virtual environment. This study will compare the use of multi-user virtual reality (VR) to single-user VR to determine if either provides superior engagement in upper extremity therapy and greater motivation to perform repetitive training. Stroke survivors will participate in a longitudinal study in which they will have the opportunity to perform rehabilitative training with multi-user VR and single-user VR modes in their homes. They will use each mode for 2 weeks, completing 4 session per week, each session is 1 hour long. Upper extremity motor control, level of engagement, and active range of motion will be assessed at time points during the intervention period. Subject evaluations will take place before the intervention, at the midpoint of intervention (between switching from multi-user to single-user modes, or vice versa), and at the end of the intervention. The investigators hope to address two aims: Aim 1: To determine if the use in-home multi-user virtual reality treatment results in greater engagement in therapy compared with in-home single user virtual reality treatment. Aim 2: To determine if in-home virtual reality treatment results in greater practice The investigators hypothesize that stroke survivors will be more engaged in therapy when training with the multi-user VR system and this will translate into greater practice.
NCT03203304
External beam photon stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) using a linear accelerator to a total dose of 40 Gy in 5 fractions delivered once daily with at least 48 hours between each fraction. SBRT treatment will be completed within a 21-day window. Starting within 14 days after completion of SBRT, intravenous nivolumab 240 mg will be given every 2 weeks as monotherapy or in combination with ipilimumab 1 mg/kg IV every 6 weeks.
NCT01259726
The objectives of this study are: (1) to evaluate the safety and tolerability of VP 20621 dosed orally for up to 14 days in adults previously treated for CDI; (2) to characterize the frequency and duration of stool colonization with the VP 20621 strain of C. difficile; (3) to evaluate the efficacy of VP 20621 for prevention of recurrence of CDI; and (4)to select a dose regimen of VP 20621 to be used in future studies.
NCT01529268
CyNCh is a multi-center, placebo-controlled clinical trial of children ages 8 to 17 years with biopsy-confirmed moderate to severe nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The primary objective is to evaluate whether 52 weeks of treatment with cysteamine bitartrate delayed-release capsules will result in improvement in liver disease severity.
NCT03897634
Despite improvements in digital hearing aid technology, many hearing aid users continue to report difficulty understanding speech in challenging listening environments. Remote microphones have been shown to provide benefit in the most common of these challenging listening environments: distant speakers, background noise, and reverberation. Despite demonstrated benefit, there is a low rate of remote microphone use among adult hearing aid users. One reason for low uptake may be an uncertainty among hearing healthcare providers and potential users regarding expected clinically relevant benefit. This clinical trial will attempt the following: 1. To describe the range of remote microphone benefit among adults with mild-to-moderate sensorineural hearing loss 2. To determine specific individual factors beyond the audiogram that are associated with greater benefit from remote microphones
NCT02284516
Evaluate the efficacy and safety of Lifitegrast in subjects with dry eye disease and a recent history of artificial tear use.
NCT02669121
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the Norovirus (NoV) GI.1/GII.4 bivalent virus-like particle vaccine against moderate or severe acute gastroenteritis (AGE) due to genotype-specific (GI.1 and GII.4) NoV strains.
NCT01620255
To determine the dose or doses of PF-00547659 that will be the most effective to improve or halt the disease symptoms in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
NCT00630747
Study TKT024EXT was a long-term, single-arm, open-label extension of Study TKT024, a one year Phase 2/Phase 3 registration study. The primary objective of this extension study was to collect long-term safety and clinical outcome data in Mucopolysaccharidosis II (MPS II), also known as Hunter Syndrome, from the Phase 2/Phase 3 Study TKT024. All patients enrolling into this study received weekly active treatment with idursulfase, the primary dosing regimen investigated in Study TKT024. Hunter Syndrome is an X-linked recessive lysosomal storage disease caused by a deficiency of iduronate-2-sulfatase, an enzyme required to catabolize glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) in cells. As a result, GAGs accumulate in the lysosomes leading to cellular engorgement, organomegaly, tissue destruction, and organ system dysfunction. Hunter Syndrome is a rare disease with an estimated incidence of 1 in 162,000 live births.
NCT00289536
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of 3 doses of ADVATE rAHF-PFM on initial recovery (% increase \[IU/dL\] per IU/kg infused) and major single-infusion pharmacokinetic parameters. The 3 doses are 15, 30, and 50 IU/kg. Prior to each infusion, subjects will not have received treatment with a factor VIII concentrate for at least 3 days. Blood samples will be drawn within 30 minutes pre-infusion and at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 9, 24, 28, 32 and 48 hours post-infusion. A washout period of at least 3 days, but no more than 30 days between the last blood draw and the next infusion will be observed. During participation, subjects will maintain their preexisting treatment regimens with ADVATE rAHF-PFM or other factor VIII concentrate. A secondary objective is to investigate the relationship between pharmacokinetic parameters at each dose level and the levels of von Willebrand factor ristocetin cofactor activity and von Willebrand factor antigen at baseline.
