NCT03723434
The purpose of this study is to understand the physiology of connectivity between cortical regions in the human brain in healthy participants and in patients with white matter lesions. Specifically, the investigators will examine the effects of paired associative stimulation (PAS) which consists in delivering brief (\< 1 ms) current pulses separated by a short millisecond-level time interval ("asynchrony") to two cortical areas. The used techniques are all non-invasive and considered safe in humans: transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electroencephalography (EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and functional MRI (fMRI). Based on prior literature in animals and human studies, it is hypothesized that PAS may increase or decrease effective connectivity between the stimulated areas depending on the asynchrony value. The main outcome measure is source-resolved EEG responses evoked by single-pulse TMS; this is a more direct measure of neuronal changes occurring at the targeted cortical area than motor evoked potentials (MEPs) or sensor-level EEG responses used in previous studies.
NCT02841787
The goal of this field trial is to tailor and test a web-based intervention in adults 65 years of age or older. Two versions of the web-based intervention have been created and will be tested--one with an online social network and one without an online social network. The purpose of this study is to: pilot a novel intervention, examine methods to improve adherence to web-based interventions (e.g., peer network); collect data on feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of an web-based intervention for late life depression; and ultimately, to overcome the numerous barriers to treating depression in later life.

NCT00003677
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of dolastatin 10 in treating patients who have metastatic pancreatic cancer.
NCT00413699
The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term effectiveness and safety of CP-690,550 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Subjects are eligible for this study only after participating in another "qualifying" study of CP-690,550 A sub-study will be conducted within the A3921024 study, this study will evaluate the immune response to pneumococcal and influenza vaccines in patients receiving CP-690,550
NCT00965380
The purpose of this study is to utilize Trinity Evolution in conjunction with an interbody spacer and supplemental posterior fixation of the surgeon's choice and to follow the patients to measure the clinical outcomes and rate of fusion. The hypothesis of the study is that Trinity Evolution combined with an interbody spacer and supplemental posterior fixation will result in fusion rates and clinical outcomes similar to those with other routinely used autograft and allograft materials including: fusion, improvement in pain and function, maintenance of lower extremity neurological function, and absence of serious adverse events related to the use of the Trinity Evolution product.
NCT00068432
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Celecoxib may stop the growth of pancreatic cancer by stopping blood flow to the tumor and blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth. Combining gemcitabine with celecoxib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving gemcitabine together with celecoxib works in treating patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
NCT00516256
The aims include: 1. To measure the effect of the three study conditions on Quality of Life (QOL). * CHESS and Cancer Information Mentor will not differ initially (6 weeks) or late in treatment (6 months) in QOL * CHESS +Cancer Information Mentor will have the largest impact on QOL (initially and late in treatment) and will be significantly better than either CHESS or Cancer Information Mentor alone. 2. To measure potential intervening or mediating processes, so that we can determine how CHESS and the Cancer Information Mentor produce associated QOL benefits. 3. To conduct exploratory use analyses examining which types of CHESS content, sequential patterns of content use, or other characteristics of use behavior are associated with greater pretest-posttest improvements in QOL. 4. To conduct a secondary analysis exploring whether men whose partners have actively used CHESS do better than those whose partners did not use CHESS.
NCT02472977
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the combination of Ulocuplumab and Nivolumab is safe and effective in the treatment of pancreatic cancer and small cell lung cancer.
NCT00100659
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of peginterferon alfa-2a (PEG-2a) in combination with ribavirin (RV) and PEG-2a alone for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (CHC) infection in children. The purpose of this study is also to determine whether PEG-2a in combination with RV or PEG-2a alone will result in a longer response rate in children with CHC.
NCT01655823
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a major dose-limiting side effect of many chemotherapeutic agents including vincristine, paclitaxel, cisplatin, oxaliplatin, bortezomib and ixabepilone. Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy commonly occurs in greater than 40% of patients. To improve the peripheral neuropathy, the chemotherapy dosing is often either decreased or discontinued potentially affecting tumor responsiveness, prognosis, and survival. There is an unmet medical need for treatment of cancer patients with chemotherapy induced neuropathic pain (CINP) and the proposed study will investigate the efficacy and safety of multiple dose levels of tetrodotoxin (TTX) versus placebo in moderate to severe neuropathic pain caused by chemotherapy.
NCT03377426
The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether LYS228 can be developed for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections

NCT01030562
The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the body's response to a human papillomavirus (HPV) (sexually transmitted disease), vaccine and booster shot. The study will also determine factors related to adolescents not following vaccination schedules. The HPV vaccine requires 3 doses (shots). Girls sometimes receive the 3 shots at the recommended time and sometimes girls receive the shots at non-recommended times. This study will evaluate if getting the shots at non-recommended times affects the level of protection provided by the vaccine. Participants will include about 1400 girls 9-17 years old receiving a third dose of HPV vaccine from their primary care clinician. The parent/legal guardian of each subject may answer a questionnaire related to the vaccine schedule. Study procedures include: medical history, questionnaires and blood draws. Participants will be involved in the study for about 6 months from time of enrollment.
