NCT00308711
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the misoprostol vaginal insert (50 mcg and 100 mcg) can safely and effectively speed time to vaginal delivery compared to Cervidil (R) in women who need to have cervical ripneing and induction of labor.
NCT00267046
Primary: 1. To evaluate the preliminary efficacy of palifermin in reducing the incidence and severity of oral mucositis (OM) in patients with sarcoma receiving multicycle chemotherapy. 2. To evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) of palifermin when given pre chemotherapy. 3. To evaluate the safety profile of palifermin when combined with multicycle chemotherapy. Exploratory: 1. To evaluate the biologic effect of palifermin on oral mucosa. 2. To investigate potential biomarker development by biochemical analysis in blood cells, serum, and plasma. 3. To investigate the effects of genetic variation in mucositis genes, drug metabolism genes, and drug target genes on patient response to the treatment regimen.
NCT00064454
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the drug OPC-6535 compared to a placebo in patients with active Ulcerative Colitis. Depending on their response, participants will be offered the investigational medication for up to one year after the study's completion at select sites.
NCT00965172
The goal of this clinical research study is to find out if Caphosol® (calcium phosphate) mouthwash is more effective than a baking soda solution at preventing and treating mucositis, in patients with sarcoma who are to be treated with chemotherapy. The safety of this drug will also be studied. Researchers also want to learn about the way calcium phosphate may affect mucous membranes. The goal of this clinical research study is to see if Caphosol® (calcium phosphate) mouthwash is better than baking soda solution in patients with sarcoma who are to be treated with chemotherapy . Caphosol will also be studied to see if it lessens the incidence and severity of oral mucositis (painful sores in the mouth).
NCT00877383
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of indacaterol (150 µg once daily \[od\]) when combined with tiotropium (18 µg od) versus tiotropium (18 µg od) treatment alone in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00846586
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of indacaterol (150 µg once daily \[od\]) when combined with tiotropium (18 µg od) versus tiotropium (18 µg od) treatment alone in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
NCT00520429
The primary objective of this research is to pilot test a brief mental heath treatment specifically tailored to meet the needs of chronically ill patients with anxiety and/or depression. Using an open-trial format, the proposed study will examine the feasibility of a brief psychosocial intervention. Primary outcomes will assess intervention effects on patient and clinician rated symptoms of anxiety and depression. If proven feasible and effective among this group of participants, the intervention (due to its brief format and focus on medically ill patient needs) will possess unique characteristics that will increase the ability of medical care settings to implement mental health treatments, and will provide valuable pilot data for the development of a larger research project to determine the efficacy of this intervention among a larger group of chronically ill patients relative to usual care.
NCT00808574
The current study was a pilot, double blind, randomized controlled trial to (1) evaluate the feasibility of an online obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) screening intervention, (2) estimate effect size for planning of future studies, and (3) test the hypothesis that the intervention, compared to a control condition, would lead more individuals to discuss OSA with their healthcare provider.
NCT00669747
The primary objective of this study is to compare the safety of 100 mg carboplatin administered intraductally once on Day 1 or twice on Days 1 and 15 in women with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) undergoing surgical management 2 to 4 weeks following the Day 15 intraductal infusion. Secondary objectives are to characterize the biologic and clinical effects with respect to: pharmacokinetics, extent of disease on MRI and mammogram, histopathological assessment of DCIS, and biomarker measurement of Ki-67, TUNEL and G-actin.
NCT00121147
The purpose of this study is to compare the additive effect on eye pressure of Azopt and Alphagan P to Travatan.
NCT00583986
This is a study to investigate the reliability, ruggedness and safety of the top mounted actuation indicator (TMAI) when used with Levalbuterol HFA MDI.
NCT00092508
This dose comparison study, taking place at over 200 sites worldwide, will compare the dosing, safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine OPC-6535 to the dosing, safety and efficacy of Asacol ® in the maintenance of remission in subjects with ulcerative colitis.
NCT01100151
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of RDC-1036 (ALKS 37) in adults with opioid-induced constipation (OIC) following repeat dose administration
NCT00295282
This is a Phase I dose-escalation study of MDX-1100. patients with ulcerative colitis will be enrolled into one of four dose cohorts, to receive of MDX-1100 at 0.3, 1.0, 3.0 or 10mg/kg. Three to six patients will be enrolled at each dose level, starting at the lowest dose level, for a maximum of 24 patients to be enrolled into the study. The study is designed to establish the safety and tolerability of single doses of MDX-1100 administered in dose-escalating cohorts to patients with ulcerative colitis. Other study objectives include characterizing a pharmacokinetic profile and pharmacodynamic effects of MDX-1100 and determination of immunogenic response to MDX-1100.
NCT00567996
This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of 26 weeks treatment with indacaterol, placebo or salmeterol in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
NCT00263874
This initial proof of concept, phase II study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of UK-500,001 for the chronic maintenance treatment of adults with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
