Mental illness stigma has been a concerning issue globally due to its adverse effects on the recovery of people with mental illness and may delay help-seeking for mental health out of the concern of being stigmatized. With technological advancement, Internet-based mental health stigma reduction interventions have been developed to combat mental illness stigma and the effects have been promising. The present study aimed to examine the differential effects of Internet-based storytelling programs varied on level of interactivity and stigma content in reducing mental illness stigma. In the present study, the investigator hypothesized that an Internet-based storytelling program with a combination of interactivity and stigma content would lead to the most significant reduction in public stigma, microaggression, and social distance from people with mental illnesses, followed by Internet-based storytelling program with stigma content-only and interactivity-only, compared with control. Secondly, the investigator hypothesized that the effects observed in stigma reduction would be mediated by perceived autonomy and immersiveness due to the presence of interactivity.

It is an observational study in patients with chronic noncommunicable diseases (i.e. cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma ) and control group with no signs of these conditions. The study has a prospective part planned for 2021 and a retrospective part which includes the patients enrolled between 2018-2020. The aim of the study is to investigate gut microbiota composition, its metabolites, levels of inflammatory and other markers of the disease in prospective groups (arterial hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and control patients) as well as in retrospective groups (chronic heart failure with preserved and reduced ejection fraction, obstructive atherosclerosis of any vascular bed, arterial hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and control patients). Also we are planning to investigate the association between gut microbiota composition and its metabolites, levels of inflammatory and other markers of the disease in retrospective and prospective groups.

Corneal astigmatism is refractive error that impairs uncorrected visual acuity. When patients undergo cataract surgery, implantation of toric IOL is deemed the most effective choice for correcting corneal astigmatism and reducing postoperative spectacle dependence. The IOL-capsular complex is formed after cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Early postoperative mechanical wrapping of the anterior and posterior capsules plays a significant role in preventing IOL decentration and tilt, as well as formation of the IOL-capsular complex which reduces the incidence of posterior cataract opacity. IOL decentration ≥ 0.4 mm or/and IOL tilt ≥7degree were considered clinically significant because of poor post-surgery visual quality especially for optical sophisticated IOLs such as toric IOLs. IOL instability could decrease the curative effect of toric IOL. There are numerous types of toric IOLs; however, AcrySof IQ and TECNIS toric IOL are most frequently used in the Ophthalmology Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. AcrySof IQ IOL has some differences compared with TECNIS toric IOL. IQ has a modified L haptic design while TECNIS® toric IOL has a modified C haptic design. AcrySof IQ IOL has a discontinuous 360˚ posterior square edge while TECNIS toric IOL has a continuous 360˚ posterior square edge. The AcrySof IQ IOL cylinder power models include 1.00, 1.50, 2.25, 3.00, 3.75, 4.50, 5.25 and 6.00 D. The Tecnis IOL cylinder power models include 1.00, 1.50, 2.25, 3.00 and 4.00 D. Previous study pointed that patients with cataracts with corneal astigmatism achieved comparable improvement in visual acuity, astigmatism correction, CS(sensitive contrast), rotational stability and satisfaction, following AcrySof and TECNIS toric IOL implantation. However,some other studies found that the Acrysof toric IOL showed significantly greater rotational stability than the Tecnis toric IOL and the rate of surgical IOL repositioning was higher in eyes implanted with TECNIS than with AcrySof toric IOLs for astigmatic correction. Currently, there is no literature guidance to compare the results of cataract surgery combined various types of toric IOLs implantation in patients using CASIA2. The novel anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) device, CASIA2 can accurately evaluate the IOL capsule bending and the lens position after cataract surgery. Also, CASIA2 can be used to documented the dynamic changes of IOL-capsular complex after surgery.

Protective ventilation strategy has been widely applied in the field of thoracic surgery requiring one-lung ventilation to reduce postoperative pulmonary complications. Low tidal volume, positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), and intermittent recruitment maneuver are key components of protective ventilation strategy. Recent evidence suggests that a tidal volume of 4-5 ml/kg should be applied during protective one-lung ventilation. However, optimal level of PEEP is still unclear. This study aims to investigate optimal level of PEEP to minimize postoperative atelectasis by comparing modified lung ultrasound score in patients applied protective one-lung ventilation using PEEP of 3, 6, or 9 cm of water during thoracic surgery.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility and initial clinical safety of eCLIPs device use for the treatment of wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms. The eCLIPs device is a novel shield like implant that is placed across the neck of the aneurysm and not only facilitates coil retention but also partly obstructs the flow of blood into the aneurysm. This is an early feasibility study, which is a small study investigating an innovative device to gather more clinical data before conducting a larger study. The safety and the effects of the device on the aneurysm will be studied for 12 months after the procedure among 15 patients at approximately 4 participating hospital centers. A larger study will be required to determine the safety and efficacy of the eCLIPs device for the treatment of wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms.

Transversalis fascia plane block (TFPB) is a relatively new, easy-to-apply and safe regional anesthesia technique used to provide postoperative analgesia in various surgeries. It has been shown that TFPB and rectus sheath block (RSB) administration reduces opioid consumption and related side effects in patients undergoing surgery with general anesthesia. To our knowledge, there is no study examining TFPB in donor nephrectomy. The investigators aimed to prospectively examine the effect of TFPB and RSB on opioid consumption in postoperative period on donors who will undergo laparoscopic nephrectomy in renal transplantation surgery.

This feasibility study tests if patients find incremental HD acceptable, whether they tolerate the treatment as planned and to evaluate its safety. Over a period of 18-months, 20 participants will be recruited in to the study who are about to start HD therapy for ESRD. The participants will start HD incrementally (incremental HD group) reaching full dose HD over a period of approximately 15 weeks. The outcomes will be compared to a cohort of 40 matched patients who previously started HD in the conventional manner (historical controls, conventional HD group). All patients will be followed-up for 6 months after first dialysis. Participants will be reviewed regularly during this time, and will undergo laboratory and bed-site monitoring tests. Acceptability and tolerance will be tested by documenting the numbers and percentages of patients who agree to participate and continue in the study. Patients who decline the invitation to join the study will be given the opportunity to express their reasons for declining to go on incremental HD (they will not play further part in the study). The safety of incremental HD will be tested by comparing the rates of pre-defined safety events in the incremental HD vs. conventional HD groups. The impact of incremental HD on patients' residual renal function will be monitored using serial 24-hour urine collections, bio-impedance testing will be conducted to estimate changes in fluid load, measurements of quality-of-life will be undertaken by using patient KDQOL-SF v1.3 questionnaires. These tests will be repeated at regular intervals. Blood tests for estimation of residual renal function and markers of renal anemia, bone disease and cardiac load will be performed at regular intervals and will be compared between the two groups (incremental HD vs. conventional HD groups). These measurements will help in the evaluation of impact of incremental HD on patients' health and well-being. The completion rates of these tests will provide important information about whether they should be included in a future larger trial of incremental HD. Participants undergoing incremental HD will be invited to take part in semi-structured interviews aimed at exploring patients' experiences of receiving incremental HD and their participation in the study. Data from this study will be used to test if it is feasible to use deaths (or a combination of deaths and cardiovascular events) as the main outcome measure in a future definitive trial on incremental HD. The data should enable a sample-size calculation for a future full-scale trial.

Dry eye disease (DED) is a widely spread disorder of tears and ocular surface affecting hundreds of millions around the world. Manifestations resulting from moderate to severe DED have significant effects on the patient's quality of life (QOL). These patients may suffer pain, role limitation, sleep disorders, anxiety, and depression. QOL affection may be comparable to serious illnesses such as renal failure, angina, and disabling fractures. Evaporative form is the commonest form of DED and it is mainly caused by meibomian glands dysfunction (MGD). The usual traditional treatment options for MGD include warm compresses, expression of meibomian glands (MG), anti-inflammatory drugs, and lubricant eye drops. In many instances, the traditional treatment with artificial tears is not effective. Non-pharmacological intervention such as punctal occlusion was advocated in these patients. Punctal plugs are designed to block lacrimal drainage, which helps in the preservation of lubricant drops, improving the tear film quantitively and qualitatively. Intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) is another option that has been used by many investigators for the treatment of evaporative dry eye due to MGD safely and effectively. This study was conducted to compare the improvement of patients' QOL after treatment of severe to moderate evaporative DED with IPL therapy versus silicone punctal plug insertion. The study included 30 patients with severe to moderate evaporative dry eye secondary to MGD. The effect of DED on patients' QOL was evaluated with the aid of ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire. Fifteen patients were treated with IPL therapy. The treatment consisted of 3 sessions, with 15 days between the first and second sessions, and 30 days between the second and third sessions. And 15 patients were treated by silicone punctal plug insertion. After the completion of treatment, the Improvement of patients' QOL was evaluated by OSDI questionnaire. The results of both treatments were compared.

Cognitive impairment (such as memory problems) due to cancer and its treatment can interfere with quality of life and can linger long after treatment has ended, yet research examining cognitive rehabilitation approaches has produced limited clinical benefit. The proposed study will provide information about systematic light exposure for the treatment of cognitive impairment in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) survivors and will investigate how it works. This study would facilitate the development of this potential treatment, giving health care providers and cancer survivors a much-needed tool to help with cancer-related cognitive impairment.

This study will be a randomized control trial and will be conducted in Pakistan Railway Hospital Rawalpindi. A sample of 36 participants will be taken. Patients will be divided into two groups by sealed envelop method. Patients in group A will receive Active Release Technique along with conventional therapy while Patients in group B will receive instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization along with conventional therapy. The study includes intervention protocol of 4 weeks. The sessions will be given 3 times a week for 4 weeks. The outcome measures Numeric pain rating scale(NPRS), Hand Dynamometer and Patient-Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation (PRTEE) will be measured at baseline and at the end of 4th week. Kuvan® is a synthetic copy of a body's own substance called tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). BH4 is required by the body to use an amino acid called phenylalanine in order to build another substance called tyrosine. Kuvan® received marketed authorisation in Europe in December 2008 and is now available in several European countries for the treatment of Hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA). The primary objective is to assess the long-term safety in subjects treated with Kuvan®. Secondary objectives are to provide additional information regarding: * Safety in specific subject groups (elderly, pediatric, pregnant women and subjects with renal or hepatic insufficiency). * Growth and neurocognitive outcomes for subjects with hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA) who are receiving treatment with Kuvan®. * Progress and outcome of pregnancy for women with HPA who become pregnant while receiving treatment with Kuvan® (these women will be enrolled in a dedicated sub-registry). * Assessment of adherence to diet and to Kuvan®. * Assessment of long-term sensitivity to Kuvan®treatment.

Perioperative stroke is a devastating complication of surgery that is currently poorly characterized with limited clinical tools available to detect and prevent its occurrence. The current literature has identified that patients who experience a stroke after surgery have a higher rate of mortality, length of stay and discharge to a facility, but given the rare nature of this complication relatively little is known about which factors predict these outcomes amongst those who experience a perioperative stroke. The study objectives are to identify predictors of mortality, length of stay and discharge disposition after perioperative stroke in non-cardiac, non-neurological surgery using the prospectively-collected American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database between 2004 and 2020.

The present study aims to evaluate and compare with the histopathological analysis the various margin-assessment systems, including ultrasound, florescence, brightfield vision, new optical filters and microscope image post-processing systems, for the treatment of High Grade Gliomas (HGGs)
