NCT02682927
Study 1 and Study 3 are the prospective, merged analyses of 2 identical double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, ZX008-1501 and ZX008-1502, to assess the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of ZX008 when used as adjunctive therapy in pediatric and young adult subjects with Dravet syndrome. Study 1501 and Study 1502 were conducted in parallel; Study 1501 was conducted at approximately 30 study sites in North America; Study 1502 was conducted at approximately 30 study sites in Europe, Asia and Australia. Upon completion of the Baseline Period after initial Screening and Baseline charting of seizure frequency, subjects who qualified for the studies were randomized (1:1:1) in a double-blind manner to receive either 1 of 2 doses of ZX008 (0.2 mg/kg/day or 0.8 mg/kg/day; maximum dose: 30 mg/day) or placebo. Randomization was stratified by age group (\< 6 years, ≥6 to 18 years) to achieve balance across treatment arms, with the target of 25% of subjects in each age group. All subjects were titrated to their randomized dose over a 14-day Titration Period. Following titration, subjects continued treatment at their randomly assigned dose over a 12-week Maintenance Period. Subjects exiting the study underwent a 2-week taper, unless they enrolled in a follow-on study. Subjects were followed for post-study safety monitoring.
NCT03701321
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of venetoclax when given together with daratumumab, bortezomib, and dexamethasone, and how well they work in treating patients with multiple myeloma that has come back (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as venetoclax and dexamethasone, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as daratumumab, may help the body's immune system attack the tumor, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving venetoclax with daratumumab, bortezomib, and dexamethasone may work better in treating patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma compared to standard of care treatment, including chemotherapy.
NCT05571033
12 adults with spastic CP will complete 6 baseline sessions and 24 down conditioning sessions held 3 times/week. All clinical and physiological assessments collected at baseline will be reassessed after study completion, and follow ups after 2 weeks, 1 month and 3 months. The soleus H reflex (electric analogue of the stretch reflex) will be elicited in all sessions. In each session, participants will complete 20 baseline trials and 225 down conditioning trials to decrease the magnitude of the H-Reflex.
NCT05873946
This retrospective study aims to assess the utility of 2D non-navigated intraoperative ultrasound (ioUS) as a cost-effective alternative for guiding the surgical resection of gliomas and for detecting residual tumor. The study will analyse the records from consecutive adult patients diagnosed with gliomas, undergoing craniotomy between June 2018 and June 2023. The extent of resection (EOR) will be determined using postoperative MRI as the gold standard. The study will also examine the sensitivity and specificity of ioUS in detecting residual tumor. This research seeks to determine if ioUS can be an affordable and reliable tool that, combined with other intraoperative adjuncts, may aid neurosurgeons in achieving the maximum safe resection in glioma surgery.
NCT01833715
The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of methadone versus morphine in dealing with postoperative pain, in laparoscopic cholecystectomy under total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA); Efficacy is defined in terms of the difference of milligrams in morphine used as rescue analgesia postoperatively. Our hypothesis is that methadone is more effective than morphine for postoperative pain treatment.
NCT02565225
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use, usability and feasibility of an Application (App) for patients with rheumatoid arthritis with diary functionalities, in patient-physician interaction.
NCT05522049
Videolaryngoscopy-guided intubation has become widespread as a means of preventing major complications relating to airway management by improving the glottic view, increasing the first attempt success rate, likely reduce rates of hypoxemic events, while reducing the rate of airway trauma. However, as randomized controlled studies in patients with anticipated difficult intubation undergoing ear nose and throat (ENT) or oral and maxillofacial (OMF) surgery are lacking, it is still unknown if hyperangulated blades improve glottic view and if their use translates into faster intubation. The primary aim of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the percentage of glottic opening (POGO) between hyperangulated blades and Macintosh blades in patients with expected difficult intubation undergoing ENT or OMF surgery who require transoral tracheal intubation. Secondary aims are to compare secondary outcome measures such as time variables, indicators for difficult and successful intubation, number of attempts, view conditions, difficult airway classifications and adverse events between both blade types.
NCT04860492
Following informed consent, all recruited patients will have a baseline non-contrast CT scan performed at the radiology department of "G. Gennimatas" hospital and reported by the same dedicated uroradiologist for evaluation of stone volume, location, and consistency. All patients will also have a free flow mid-stream urinalysis and culture before randomization. The level of pain related to stones will be evaluated in all patients with the VAS tool completed before commencement of treatment and at the end of the study. Patients with a DJ stent at study entry will also complete the mini-Ureteral Stent Symptoms Questionnaire (m-USSQ) and the PUF questionnaire completed one week into study, before commencement of treatment and at the end of the study after taking either RENALOF® or placebo. Patients with a DJ stent in situ at study entry, will have both ends of the DJ cut and send for culture during scheduled DJ stent change. Approximately 90 days after recruitment, all patients will have a follow up CT scan, done at "G. Gennimatas" hospital radiology department and evaluated by the same dedicated uroradiologist , and a mid-stream urinalysis and culture. Patients with a DJ in situ will have their catheters changed and cut ends from the distal and proximal stent coils of the removed DJ stents will be send for culture and sensitivity analysis. All patients will complete the VAS and the cohort of patients with DJ stents will complete both the mini-USSQ and PUF questionnaires. During the study period patients will be instructed to report to the research team any cases of upper or lower urinary tract infection documented with a positive urine culture and any treatment related adverse events.
NCT05859542
The aim of the study was to determine the impact of the videolaryngoscope on reducing the time needed to intubate on a low-fidelity manikin for beginners. The investigators conducted a randomised crossover study, which took place in the simulation department of the medical school of Tunis. They used a low-fidelity manikin designed for learning airway management. The first part of our session consisted in a theoretical training. The second part was the practical training with procedural simulation.
NCT05991128
This study will address whether the additional use of Ferric Derisomaltose on top of standard care will improve exercise capacity and quality of life in patients with acute heart failure and iron deficiency. One group of participants will receive treatment with Ferric Derisomaltose and the other group will receive normal saline 0.9% as placebo.
NCT05101239

The patients will be recruited from the eligible population at military medical centers in the National Capital Region.
NCT01428635
This phase II/III trial studies how well eltrombopag olamine works in treating thrombocytopenia in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia or myelofibrosis receiving tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy. Eltrombopag olamine may cause the body to make platelets after receiving treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia or myelofibrosis.
NCT02095132
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of adavosertib and irinotecan hydrochloride in treating younger patients with solid tumors that have come back (relapsed) or that have not responded to standard therapy (refractory). Adavosertib and irinotecan hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT05295589
This phase II trial compares copanlisib and olaparib to standard of care chemotherapy in treating patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer that did not respond to previous platinum-based chemotherapy (platinum resistant) and that has come back (recurrent). Copanlisib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Olaparib is a PARP inhibitor. PARP is a protein that helps repair damaged deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Blocking PARP may prevent tumor cells from repairing their damaged DNA, causing them to die. PARP inhibitors are a type of targeted therapy. Chemotherapy drugs work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving copanlisib and olaparib may extend the time that the cancer does not progress compared to standard of care chemotherapy in patients with recurrent platinum resistant ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.
NCT04923230
The randomized clinical trial involves the pilot-testing of a theory-guided, empirically based, and low-cost intervention designed for legal medical marijuana-using parents to enhance parenting behaviors that limit youth exposure to marijuana, reduce or halt youth marijuana use, and increase youth awareness of the harmful consequences of marijuana during the youth years. Parents will be randomized to an intervention condition or to a wait list control condition. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will evaluate parent and youth marijuana and other substance use, perceptions and attitudes about marijuana, parenting and family functioning, and youth behavioral health.
NCT06055335
The patients were randomized into two groups medium flow anesthesia (MeFA) and minimal flow anesthesia (MiFA). While MeFA received medium flow anesthesia with 2 lt/min, MiFA received minimal flow anesthesia with 0.5 lt/min fresh gas flow. In both groups dynamic compliance values, peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) values, total inhalation anesthetic drug consumption, total remifentanil drug consumption, duration of anesthesia, and duration of surgery were recorded. The FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC values of the patients in both groups were evaluated and noted 24 hours before the operation, after the operation 2nd, 8th, and 24th hours.
