NCT01194414
This randomized, double-blind, parallel group study compares the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous (sc) versus intravenous (iv) administration of tocilizumab in participants with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Participants were randomized to receive either tocilizumab 162 mg sc weekly plus iv placebo every 4 weeks, or tocilizumab 8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks plus sc placebo weekly during the double-blind period from baseline to Week 24. The double-blind period was followed by a 72-week open-label treatment with some switching of sc and iv administration. No placebo was administered in the open-label phase. Participants continued on their stable dose of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) throughout the study. Anticipated time on study treatment was 2 years.
NCT01278173
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the change in visual fields by means of automated static perimetry and to evaluate the change in retinal structure by means of spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in adult patients with refractory complex partial seizures (CPS) being treated with vigabatrin (Sabril®)
NCT02755987
This is an expanded access study with ANG1005 treatment for two individual patients from Protocol ANG1005-CLN-03 with WHO Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma and WHO Grade III Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma and one individual patient from Protocol ANG1005-CLN-04 with Recurrent Brain Metastases and Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis.
NCT01960686
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of multiple formulations of an RSV-F protein nanoparticle vaccine, with aluminum, in healthy women of child-bearing age.
NCT01211145
The purpose of this study is to investigate if Zomig® Nasal Spray will help children (age 12-17 years) with migraine headaches feel better. This will be done by comparing 3 different doses of Zomig Nasal Spray with placebo nasal spray (inactive treatment).
NCT01944345
The registry has been designed as a prospective, observational program for patients undergoing lumbar or cervical fusion using VariLift device with the ultimate goal to aid in the development of strategic treatment pathways and improved patient care. All patients who agree to participate in the registry will sign an informed consent form and subsequently be treated by their surgeon with the VariLift device. Potential treatment procedures include bilateral posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF), unilateral transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF), or bilateral anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) for the lumbar spine, or cervical unilateral or bilateral ACDF procedure. Surgical procedures can be performed in either an inpatient or outpatient facility. It is anticipated that the VariLift devices will improve patient outcomes and lead to the development of treatment pathways to improve patient care.
NCT00323518
CG53135-05 (velafermin), a recombinant human fibroblast growth factor-20 (rhFGF-20) protein, is under investigation for the prevention of oral mucositis. Oral mucositis is a commonly occurring side effect of high-dose chemotherapy in patients undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant. The objective of this Phase II trial is to confirm the safety and efficacy of CG53135-05 (velafermin) when administered as a single dose to patients at risk for developing oral mucositis.
NCT01390545
This is a multi-national, multi-centre, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized, 4-arm parallel group trial, comparing three different dose levels (80 mg, 160 mg and 320 mg) of veltuzumab to placebo, administered weekly (days 1, 8, 15 and 22) by subcutaneous (sc) injection to subjects with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) (cumulative veltuzumab doses 320 mg, 640 mg, and 1280 mg, respectively). All subjects will be on continued stable co-medication with methotrexate (MTX).
NCT01458951
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tofacitinib (CP-690,550) in patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis who have failed or be intolerant to one of following treatments for ulcerative colitis: oral steroids, azathiopurine/6-mercaptopurine, or anti-TNF-alpha therapy.
NCT00488631
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of golimumab administered subcutaneously (under the skin) injections in maintenance therapy.
NCT02223039
This is a phase II, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose, multi-center study of AbGn-168H in subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis. The objectives of this study is to investigate efficacy, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of multiple doses of AbGn-168H administered intravenously to patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
NCT00609180
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and acute lung injury (ALI) are medical conditions that occur when there is severe inflammation and increased fluids in both lungs, making it difficult for the lungs to function properly. Hospital treatment for a person with ALI/ARDS often includes the use of a breathing machine, or ventilator, until the person is able to breathe without assistance. Initiating proper nutrition through a feeding tube early in a person's hospital stay may help to improve recovery, but the optimal timing, composition, and amount of feeding treatments are unknown. This study will evaluate whether early or delayed full-calorie feeding through a feeding tube is more effective in reducing recovery time and increasing survival rates in people with ALI/ARDS. The study will also determine whether supplementing the feedings with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants benefits people with ALI/ARDS.
NCT00400478
This is a randomized, open label, phase III study to evaluate the ability of rituximab maintenance therapy to prolong event-free survival in aggressive NHL. Patients will be screened after successful standard induction therapy (CR or Cru following standard R-CHOP-like therapy with 8 infusions of rituximab plus CHOP-like chemotherapy (4-8 cycles). Patients will be followed until an event occurs as defined in the protocol. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of rituximab maintenance therapy as compared to observation in patients with aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkins lymphoma or follicular lymphoma grade 3b who have achieved a complete remission after appropriate first-line therapy, measured by event-free survival (EFS), 440 patients with DLCBL or follicular NHL grade 3 (220 per arm) will be recruited.
NCT01318941
This study will describe the long-term safety and effectiveness, treatment patterns, and patient reported quality of life associated with ranibizumab treatment in routine clinical practice for all approved indication included in the local product label.
NCT01120275
This phase II trial is studying how well gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 works in treating patients with stage IV melanoma. Gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT00566657
Primary objective is to demonstrate the superiority of riferminogene pecaplasmid (XRP0038/NV1FGF) over placebo in the prevention of major amputation above the ankle of the treated leg or of death from any cause, whichever comes first, in critical limb ischemia (CLI) patients with skin lesions. Secondary objectives are to evaluate: * The efficacy of riferminogene pecaplasmid versus placebo for delaying the time to major amputation; * The efficacy of riferminogene pecaplasmid versus placebo for delaying the time to death; * The safety of riferminogene pecaplasmid in the study population.
