NCT01644877
This protocol will seek to enroll immunocompromised patients who are on supplemental oxygen and diagnosed with a parainfluenza infection.
NCT02609568
By studying individual biomarkers in body fluids such as saliva, there is a potential for detecting injury to the brain resulting from an acute traumatic even that may not be detectable by conventional neuroimaging like CT scans.
NCT01793246
Patients will be enrolled that are undergoing bronchoscopy for diagnosis of discrete lung lesions or for detection of acute rejection following lung transplants. The hypothesis is that bronchoscopy together with probe-based endomicroscopy (pCLE)results in improved and/or incremental diagnostic yield (definitive diagnosis) over conventional bronchoscopy.
NCT02276209
This is a randomized, double blind, multicenter, parallel group, outpatient study evaluating the efficacy and safety of dasotraline in adults with ADHD.
NCT01922843
The goal of this study is to test a new vitamin D compound for its ability to reduce parathyroid hormone levels in patients who are on hemodialysis.
NCT01289717
There is a need to develop blood and/or urine tests that will help to detect early signs of rejection in people who have had kidney transplant. Researchers will examine blood, urine, and tissue samples and try to identify genetic markers for certain conditions like rejection, response to therapy, and scarring of the kidney. By studying gene patterns, researchers hope to be able to diagnose these conditions earlier and improve kidney survival.
NCT00017004
Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Epoetin alfa may stimulate red blood cell production to treat anemia in patients who have received chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy for cervical cancer. Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of epoetin alfa in treating anemia in patients who have cervical cancer.
NCT01467882
The study will investigate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of triptorelin 22.5 mg 6-month formulation in 44 patients suffering from central precocious puberty. The total study duration per patient will be 12 months (48 weeks).
NCT01999192
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of three different Tregalizumab doses in combination with Methotrexate (MTX) in subjects who have active rheumatoid arthritis and an inadequate response to MTX alone. The overall study duration is 24 weeks followed by a 24 week extension phase.
NCT01369849
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog 1 (Akt) inhibitor MK2206 when given together with bendamustine hydrochloride and rituximab and to see how well they work in treating patients with refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma. Akt inhibitor MK2206 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as bendamustine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Giving Akt inhibitor MK2206 with bendamustine hydrochloride and rituximab may be an effective treatment for relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma.
NCT00432159
This study is intended to treat patients with symptomatic degenerative disc disease at one level of the cervical spine. The patients will be randomized to the DISCOVER Artificial Cervical Disc (total disc replacement) or SLIM-LOC™ (cervical fusion) to determine the safety and efficacy at 2 years post operative. Follow-up on patients treated with total disc replacement will be continued to 5 years post operative.
NCT00016523
This multicenter trial tested whether inhaled nitric oxide would reduce death or the need for oxygen in preterm infants (less than 34 weeks gestational age) with severe lung disease.
NCT00005776
Respiratory failure in term newborns is associated with increased rates of death and long-term neurodevelopmental problems. This large international multicenter trial randomized newborns who had failed to respond to intensive care, including high levels of ventilator support, to receive either inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) or 100 percent oxygen to test whether iNO would decrease their risk of dying or requiring temporary lung bypass. Infants were followed during their initial hospitalization; their outcome was assessed at 18 to 24 mos of age.
NCT00764530
Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the CeramTec Acetabular Alumina Insert and CeramTec Alumina head when used with the Foundation Porous Coated Acetabular Shell and an Encore hip stem.
NCT00354965
Clinical research study to test amoxicillin and clavulanate tablet formulation for use in Acute Bacterial Sinusitis (ABS) in adolescent patients weighing at least 40 kilogram (kg) and no more than 16 years old. ABS is an acute bacterial infection of the sinus. The purpose of this study is to find out how children tolerate Augmentin XR and what happens to Augmentin XR in the body after it has been swallowed by children.
NCT01226628
The main purpose of this study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of CNTO 2476 administered subretinally (beneath the retina) using the iTrack Model 275 micro catheter in patients with visual acuity (acuteness or clearness of vision) impairment associated with the geographic atrophy (GA: partial or complete wasting away of retinal layer below the retina) manifestation of age-related macular degeneration (AMD: medical condition which usually affects older adults and results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field \[the macula\] because of damage to the retina).
NCT00263341
The purpose of this 1-year study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a new contraceptive vaginal ring (CVR) delivering low doses of Nestorone (NES), a new, nonandrogenic progestin, and ethinyl estradiol (EE), an estrogen used in oral contraceptives. The CVR, which is made of silicone rubber, is designed to be used for 1 year (13 menstrual cycles) before replacement is required.
NCT01381549
This study is being conducted to evaluate the safety, efficacy (clinical and microbiological), pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of GSK2251052 and to assess whether it would be a suitable antibiotic for the treatment for febrile lower cUTI and pyelonephritis(complicated and uncomplicated). GSK2251052 will be compared to imipenem-cilastatin, which is an antibiotic commonly used to treat serious cUTI infections. GSK2251052 has a spectrum of microbiological activity that includes pathogens responsible for cUTI.
NCT00045110
Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of erlotinib in treating patients who have recurrent malignant glioma or recurrent or progressive meningioma. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth.
NCT00282503
The purpose of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of ECP treatment combined with high dose corticosteroids versus high dose corticosteroids alone, in the treatment of patients with newly diagnosed acute GvHD (Grades II to III) that developed within 100 days following an allo HPCT.
