NCT00068250
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy such as methotrexate and temozolomide use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies such as rituximab can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. Combining methotrexate, temozolomide, and rituximab with radiation therapy may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of temozolomide when given together with methotrexate and rituximab followed by radiation therapy and to see how well they work in treating patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma.
NCT01180894
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine whether intravenous iron supplementation of anemic, critically ill trauma patients improves anemia and reduces the need for a red blood cell transfusion.
NCT02228811
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the safety of the investigational drug DCC-2701 and whether it will work to help people who have advanced solid tumors or cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
NCT02020889
The purpose of this randomized, double-blind study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of mepolizumab (300 milligram \[mg\] administered subcutaneously \[SC\] every 4 weeks) compared with placebo over a 52-week study treatment period in subjects with relapsing or refractory Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) receiving standard of care therapy including background corticosteroid therapy with or without immunosuppressive therapy. During the treatment period, in accordance with standard of care, corticosteroid dose will be tapered. The key outcomes in the study focus on evaluation of clinical remission, defined as Birmingham Vasculitis Activity Score (BVAS)=0 with a corticosteroid dose of \<=4 mg/day prednisolone/prednisone, reduction in disease relapse and reduction in corticosteroid requirement.
NCT01460134
This is a study of CDX-1127, a therapy that targets the immune system and may act to promote anti-cancer effects. The study enrolls patients with hematologic cancers (certain leukemias and lymphomas), as well as patients with select types of solid tumors.
NCT00408694
This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with cisplatin, radiation therapy, and fluorouracil works in treating patients with stage IIB, stage III, stage IVA, or stage IVB nasopharyngeal cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of nasopharyngeal cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin and fluorouracil, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Giving bevacizumab together with chemotherapy and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells.
NCT00522548
Myfortic (enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium) has been shown to have similar effectiveness to CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) in preventing rejection in kidney transplant recipients. However, enteric coated mycophenolate sodium has been thought to possibly be associated with fewer gastrointestinal side effects. Mycophenolate mofetil and enteric coated mycophenolate sodium pharmacokinetics (how the drug is absorbed and broken down) have not been well-studied in African American kidney transplant recipients. The investigators are interested in studying enteric coated mycophenolate sodium and mycophenolate mofetil pharmacokinetics and gastrointestinal side effects in African American kidney transplant recipients.
NCT00435942
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Relay thoracic stent-graft system to treat thoracic aortic aneurysms. Efficacy will be evaluated by the device-related adverse event rate of endovascular repair (via Relay Thoracic Stent-Graft) through 1-year. Safety will be evaluated by comparing major adverse events through 1-year in subjects treated with the Relay Thoracic Stent-Graft to those who underwent surgical repair. Long term follow-up is conducted through 5 years.
NCT02210208
Part A The primary objective of Part A will be to verify performance and safety of Mepitel® Ag, a meshed, non- adherent soft silicone wound contact layer containing silver in the treatment of skin grafts in surgical burn patients. Part B The primary objective of Part B will be to examine the usefulness of Mepilex® Transfer Ag as an adequate option for donor site healing.
NCT00360971
RATIONALE: Growth factors, such as palifermin, may lessen the severity of mucositis, or mouth sores, in patients receiving radiation therapy and chemotherapy for head and neck cancer. It is not yet known whether palifermin is more effective than a placebo in lessening mucositis in patients receiving radiation therapy and chemotherapy for head and neck cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying palifermin to see how well it works compared to a placebo in lessening oral mucositis in patients undergoing radiation therapy and chemotherapy for locally advanced head and neck cancer.
NCT02667288
This is an open-label safety study. During this study, the investigator will identify 4 eligible SK Target Lesions on each subject on the trunk, extremities and face.
NCT01722045
This is a phase 4, open-label, single arm, multicenter, clinical study in patients with neovascular AMD designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Intravitreal Aflibercept Injection (IAI) administered over 2 years , and to provide clinical information from the first year in the trial evaluating the adverse effects, if any, on the corneal endothelium following administration of IAI.
NCT00323609
Patients with osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures will be randomly assigned to treatment with balloon kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty. Over 2 years of follow-up, back pain, back function, quality of life, adverse events, subsequent fractures and cumulative healthcare costs will be compared.
NCT02514772
The study objective is to identify potential safety risks of the transition from US-licensed Rituxan® or EU-approved MabThera® to GP2013 (proposed biosimilar product) as compared to continuous treatment with the originator product in terms of general safety and immunogenicity.
NCT01693068
This is a Phase 2, multicenter, randomized, controlled, open-label trial of pimasertib versus dacarbazine aimed to confirm the activity of pimasertib in previously untreated subjects with N-Ras mutated locally advanced or metastatic malignant cutaneous melanoma by comparing the progression-free survival (PFS) of subjects treated with either pimasertib or dacarbazine and by getting a better understanding of the efficacy, safety, pharmacogenomics (PGx) and their relationship with pimasertib exposure.
NCT01418001
The purpose of this study is to see the effects, good and/or bad, of the drug combination of gemcitabine, docetaxel and pazopanib on sarcoma. This is a phase Ib-phase II clinical trial. The goal of a phase Ib part of the clinical trial is to confirm a dose of the drugs that is safe. The investigators determine this by closely checking for side effects that the patient may experience.
NCT01154075
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of a novel method to measure adherence to immunosuppressant medications in predicting rejection episodes in children who had a liver transplant.
NCT01838356
The purpose of the study is to examine if blood flow in the brain before coronary artery bypass graft surgery has an effect on depression after surgery. The main hypothesis of the study states that pre-surgical blood flow in the brain will be an independent risk factor for depression after surgery after adjusting for other risk factors such as gender, pre-CABG depression, social support, medical comorbidity burden, socioeconomic status, and neuroticism.
NCT01622348
The purpose of this study is to evaluate different dose levels of IMO-3100 compared to placebo administered for 4 weeks to patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
NCT02402270
The purpose of this study is to learn about a new bowel preparation that uses food to clean the colon.
