NCT01086215
The Registry involves the collection of information for research and educational purposes only on the use of AngioJet in the peripheral vascular system.
NCT01831284
The goal of this study is to learn how injection drug use may affect the immune system.
NCT00123487
This is a phase III study of BMS-354825 in subjects with chronic myelogenous leukemia in accelerated phase, or in myeloid or lymphoid blast phase or with Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia who are resistant or intolerant to imatinib mesylate (Gleevec).
NCT00322101
RATIONALE: Giving chemotherapy, such as fludarabine phosphate, busulfan, and cyclophosphamide, and total-body radiation therapy before a donor peripheral stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the healthy stem cells from a donor are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is not yet known whether low-dose chemotherapy and total-body radiation therapy is more effective than high-dose chemotherapy in treating patients with myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia. PURPOSE: This phase III trial is studying low-dose conditioning to see how well it works compared to high-dose conditioning followed by peripheral blood stem cell transplant in treating patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or acute myeloid leukemia
NCT01683526
The safety and efficacy of a video-laryngoscope as a primary intubation tool in urgent endotracheal intubation of critically-ill patients has not been well-described in the literature. This study will answer whether using a VL will impact on the efficacy and safety of intubation compared with a traditional direct laryngoscopy.
NCT00602771
This randomized phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well giving tipifarnib together with etoposide works in treating older patients with newly diagnosed, previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia. Tipifarnib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving tipifarnib together with etoposide may kill more cancer cells.
NCT00499590
The purpose of this study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of bevasiranib given either every 8 weeks or every 12 weeks after an initial pre-treatment with 3 injections of Lucentis® (ranibizumab injection) compared to Lucentis® given every 4 weeks to people with wet AMD. Patients will be assigned at random (like tossing a coin) to receive one of three treatments options for 104 weeks.
NCT00357500
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as etoposide and cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Thalidomide, celecoxib, and fenofibrate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Celecoxib also may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving combination chemotherapy together with thalidomide, celecoxib, and fenofibrate may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving etoposide and cyclophosphamide together with thalidomide, celecoxib, and fenofibrate works in treating young patients with relapsed or progressive cancer.
NCT00737178
After medication abortion, women may quickly become pregnant again and therefore need an effective birth control method right away. Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are very effective for preventing pregnancy. IUDs are usually placed more than a month after abortion. This study will randomly assign women having a medication abortion to two groups, either having the IUD inserted one week after medication abortion or having the IUD inserted more than four weeks later. Women will be followed for six months to compare how many return for IUD placement in the two groups, how many are using the IUD after six months, experience with pain, bleeding, and cramping, how easy or difficult it is to insert the IUD, how many IUDs are expelled or removed, and how many women are using any birth control six months after the abortion.
NCT00454740
To evaluate the efficacy of 5 and10mg solifenacin succinate in patients with urgency who have OAB syndrome (urgency, with or without urge incontinence, usually with frequency and nocturia) and wish to switch from tolterodine tartrate extended release to solifenacin succinate due to lack of sufficient improvement in urgency episodes
NCT00742625
This phase II trial studies the side effects and best dose of bortezomib when given together with daunorubicin and cytarabine and to see how well it works in treating older patients with previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia. Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as daunorubicin and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving bortezomib together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells.
NCT00206583
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug is safe and effective in the prevention of pregnancies in a large group of volunteers.
NCT01348061
This is an experimental medicine study to evaluate the kinetics of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers in subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD) or progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) compared to healthy controls using a heavy water (2H2O) labeling method. This study is exploring the time profile of appearance and disappearance of pulse deuterium-labeled cargo proteins in CSF of subjects with AD and/or PSP, which is different from healthy controls, due to deficits in fast axonal transport.
NCT00924560
This study is being conducted to compare the effects of a 91-day oral contraceptive (OC) to a 28-day OC regimen on bone mineral density (BMD) in adolescent females.
NCT00888069
This study will investigate how the levels of a single dose of CTAP101 changes in the body over time (pharmacokinetics, PK) and how CTAP101 affects other mineral and hormonal balances (pharmacodynamics, PD) in patients with Stage 3 or 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) with vitamin D insufficiency and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT).
NCT00792857
This study will compare CTAP201 with Doxercalciferol in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), undergoing regular hemodialysis, at different dose strengths. This study will also investigate the levels of CTAP201 in the body over time and determine the safety of CTAP201.
NCT00835627
The investigators propose that patients who receive targeted pharmacotherapy (sertraline) or focused psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy-informed psychotherapy (CBT-ip) for NES) or combined treatment (CBT-ip + sertraline) will report fewer nonepileptic seizures (NES) compared to patients who receive community care / treatment as usual (TAU). The purpose of this study is to provide pilot testing and data to inform the future multicenter randomized controlled trial based on the hypothesis.
NCT00290290
Most cases of infection of clean-contaminated wounds (wounds without gross spillage of organisms from the gastrointestinal tract) are thought to originate from the skin. Therefore, it is conceivable that application of an optimal antiseptic agent can reduce the rate of surgical wound infections. This trial is to compare the impact of disinfecting the skin with Chloraprep (2%chlorhexidine and 70% isopropyl alcohol) vs. Betadine on the rates of infection of clean-contaminated surgical wounds. The study will also assess the occurrence of adverse effects on the skin from either antiseptic agent and the cost-savings associated with the use of Chloraprep vs Betadine.
NCT00264537
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of golimumab, alone or in combination with methotrexate, as compared to methotrexate alone in rheumatoid arthritis subjects who have not been previously treated with methotrexate.
NCT00885820
This multicentre randomized, controlled trial (RCT) compared renal allograft histology and function in subjects treated with Tacrolimus + MMF + prednisone undergoing early protocol biopsies and treatment of subclinical rejection versus a non-protocol biopsy control group.
