Peripheral nerve blocks have been well studied in the literature with generally good results for controlling post operative pain following orthopaedic surgery. Regional anesthesia has many benefits. It provides excellent intraoperative anesthesia and muscle relaxation as well as analgesia that continues into the post-operative period. These regional blocks are also effective in controlling pain in the immediate post-operative period. However, as the block wears off, patients begin experiencing increased pain. Compared to patients treated without regional blocks, these patients will often experience a "rebound pain"--pain occurring 12-24 hours after surgery that is subjectively worse than that in patients treated without regional blocks. Therefore, the investigators propose to use a continuous infusion of anesthetic in order to provide sustained pain control post-operatively. Preoperatively, patients will be randomized into a single shot peripheral nerve block versus a continuous infusion of peripheral nerve block. Post-operatively, pain will be assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (1-100) prior to being discharged from PACU. Time to discharge and amount of pain medication taken will be recorded. Patients will be contacted at certain time intervals postoperatively to assess their pain scale and pain medication intake. Patients will be seen for routine post-operative follow-up visits where they will be assessed for satisfaction, pain, residual neurological symptoms, and signs of infection.

This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, two-arm parallel, single-center study. One hundred subjects (50 in each arm) will be enrolled. Subjects, between the ages 18 and 65, undergoing laparoscopic gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy will be recruited and consented during the preadmission visit prior to surgery.

This treatment intervention trial is designed for men and women with either alcohol misuse (e.g. hazardous or binge drinking) or alcohol use disorders (alcohol abuse or dependence) and comorbid PTSD. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two treatments (a cognitive behavioral treatment intervention called "Seeking Safety" + Medication ("Zoloft") or Seeking Safety + placebo) and will be evaluated at baseline, at completion of the treatment (12 sessions over 12 weeks), and again at 6 months and 12 months post-treatment.

The purpose of the Patient and Provider Assessment of Lipid Management Registry (PALM) is to gain a better understanding of physicians' cholesterol medication prescribing practices, patient and physician attitudes and beliefs related to cholesterol management, and current utilization of cholesterol-lowering therapies given the new ACC/AHA guideline recommendations. The PALM Registry hopes to allow for the design of ways to improve cholesterol management and decrease the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the US.

This clinical trial is designed to evaluate the effectiveness and collect additional safety information on AZEDRA® (iobenguane I 131) for the treatment of metastatic or relapsed/refractory (to other treatment) or unresectable pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma. The purpose of this trial is to test the use of AZEDRA® as a treatment for pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, a rare disease. This Phase II study will help determine primarily if using the drug reduces the amount of blood pressure medication being taken as a result of the cancer and secondarily to determine such things as the effectiveness of the study drug in treating the cancer, additional safety measures, and to assess if the drug helps the quality of life and use of pain medication. All subjects will receive an imaging dose with scans followed by two therapeutic doses given approximately 3 months apart.

We will prospectively compare change in ONSD during anesthesia with sevoflurane-only versus anesthesia with propofol-only in two groups of patients undergoing urologic and gynecologic surgery in the steep Trendelenburg position. We hypothesize that there will be a significant decrease in the size of ONSD during transition from sevoflurane-only anesthesia to propofol-only anesthesia.

This pilot clinical trial studies how well voxel based diffusion tensor imaging in predicting response in patients with brain metastases undergoing whole-brain radiation therapy or stereotactic radiosurgery. Voxel based diffusion tensor imaging (VB-DTI) may allow doctors to measure response to whole brain radiation therapy or stereotactic radiosurgery earlier than is possible with a standard magnetic resonance imaging. The earlier ability to measure response may allow for consideration of alternative therapies at an earlier stage.
