NCT00000895
The purpose of this study is to determine if infection with Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) occurs in other parts of the body before it is found in the blood. This study also evaluates the relationships between the amount of HIV in the blood, immune system functions, and the presence of MAC infection. HIV-positive patients are at risk for MAC infection because their immune systems have been weakened by HIV. It is hoped that aggressive treatment with anti-HIV drugs may improve their immune systems enough to prevent against MAC.
NCT03015961
Primary Objective: The primary objective of this study is to compare postsurgical pain control following local infiltration analgesia (LIA) with EXPAREL admixed with bupivacaine HCl versus LIA with bupivacaine HCl in adult subjects undergoing open lumbar posterior spinal fusion surgery. Secondary Objectives: The secondary objectives of this study are to compare additional efficacy, safety, and health economic outcomes following LIA with EXPAREL admixed with bupivacaine HCl versus LIA with bupivacaine HCl in adult subjects undergoing open lumbar posterior spinal fusion surgery.
NCT03152370
This is a multicenter, open-label, Phase 1b study in participants with locally advanced rectum cancer where primary resection without chemoradiotherapy is unlikely to achieve clear margins as defined by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). It is conducted to assess the safety, to assess the tolerability, and to determine the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of E7046 in combination with pre-operative chemoradiotherapy. The study will also assess the efficacy of the combination in the expansion part at RP2D.
NCT04727216
The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the therapeutic efficacy of intermittent Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG-S) to standard continuous stimulation in patients with chronic intractable pain
NCT02844439
This is a multicenter, Phase 2 study to assess the activity of tesevatinib in patients with recurrent glioblastoma.
NCT02629991
The investigators propose a randomized double-blind 8 week treatment trial of intranasal oxytocin (IN-OXT) vs. placebo in 24 subjects aged 5 to 18 years with PWS in order to assess IN-OXT's affect on (1) Eating behaviors (2) Repetitive and disruptive behaviors and (3) Salivary OXT levels.
NCT03269435
We are comparing a type of nerve block called greater occipital nerve block versus standard therapy among patients who present to an emergency department for acute migraine. This is a randomized, double-blind, double dummy study. The greater occipital nerve block will be performed bilaterally with bupivacaine 0.5%. Standard therapy is metoclopramide 10mg IV.
NCT02508389
The purpose of the phase 2, GT-201 clinical study is to determine if GC4419 administered prior to intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) reduces the incidence, duration, and severity of radiation induced oral mucositis in patients who have been diagnosed with locally advanced, non-metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
NCT00805948
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety and effectiveness of the Talent Thoracic Stent Graft System for treatment of descending thoracic aneurysms (DTA)following U.S. market approval.
NCT00369785
RATIONALE: Donepezil may help lessen confusion and fatigue and improve mood and quality of life in patients who have undergone radiation therapy for brain tumors. It is not yet known whether donepezil is more effective than a placebo in lessening side effects of radiation therapy in patients with brain tumors. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying donepezil to see how well it works in lessening side effects of radiation therapy compared with a placebo in patients who have undergone radiation therapy for brain tumors.
NCT05066685
The study was a retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive study of patients with wet AMD who enrolled in the brolucizumab Patient Support Services (PSS) program. Evidence was generated to describe their baseline demographic and clinical characteristics.
NCT00000793
To assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of amitriptyline hydrochloride versus mexiletine hydrochloride in reducing pain intensity in patients with HIV-related painful peripheral neuropathy. No large-scale controlled clinical trials of symptomatic therapy for painful HIV-related neuropathy have been attempted. Both amitriptyline and mexiletine have been useful in the management of painful neuropathies; however, both are associated with certain toxicities. In this comparative study of amitriptyline and mexiletine, benztropine mesylate also will be included as an active placebo to mimic the side effects of the study drugs.
NCT02266888
In this study, doctors are trying to see if a study drug called rituximab (Rituxan®) will lower the number of B cells in the body. Doctors are also trying to see if decreasing B cells with rituximab (Rituxan®) can prevent injury to the transplanted lung. This treatment has been studied in other types of solid organ transplants.
NCT02808442
This study aims to evaluate the safety and feasibility of UCART19 to induce molecular remission in pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory CD19-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL).
NCT03939364
This study will be the first study investigating the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and efficacy of SBS-101 on oral pre-malignant lesions. As such, no clinical data has yet been generated using SBS-101 oral adhesive film.
NCT03710889
The objective of this study is to measure the early effects of abaloparatide on tissue-based bone formation using samples obtained by transiliac crest bone biopsy after quadruple fluorochrome labeling.
NCT04487301
A cross-sectional, non-interventional study to assess walking performance, vascular function, and lower limb calcification in subjects with peripheral artery disease and end-stage kidney disease (PAD-ESKD) receiving hemodialysis.
NCT04052204
Evaluation of the combination of avelumab + bempegaldesleukin (NKTR-214 ) in locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck ( metastatic SCCHN) and avelumab + bempegaldesleukin (NKTR-214) + talazoparib or enzalutamide in metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
NCT02033408
the etiology of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) is closely associated with the gut microbiome. The results of previous studies on the effectiveness of antibiotics and fecal macrobiota transplantation (FMT) are contradicting. Aims: to evaluate the effectiveness of wide-spectrum antibiotic regimens in acute severe colitis in an addition to standard corticosteroid therapy (UC and isolated "UC-like" Crohn's colitis). The secondary aim is to assess the outcome of FMT in those not responding to five days of therapy (in either arm). As an exploratory aim, any IBD patient with a resistant disease to at least two immunosuppressive medications, may be treated with either interventions.
NCT01646437
The randomized 2x2x2 factorial design placebo controlled trial will enroll 5000 participants (women 60 years or older and men 55 years or older) without known heart disease or prior stroke and without a clear indication or contraindication to any of the study medications. Eligible and consenting individuals will be randomized to receive either the active study medications or placebo (dummy pills) and will be monitored for an average of 5 years. The study will include people from at 10 countries, will be conducted by an international group of scientists and physicians and will be coordinated by the Population Health Research Institute at Hamilton Health Sciences.
