NCT00489411
RATIONALE: Duloxetine may lessen peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. It is not yet known whether duloxetine is more effective than a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying duloxetine to see how well it works compared with a placebo in treating peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer.
NCT00909428
Urinary urgency is a key symptom of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) and may be more bothersome to a patient than the symptom of urinary frequency. Unfortunately, controversy continues to surround the term 'urgency' and there is no good tool to evaluate the severity of urgency. This fact has constrained the performance of clinical research in this field. The cause of urinary urgency is not fully understood and may vary from patient to patient. Although clinicians regularly obtain measures of bladder sensation during cystometry, little attention has been paid to the patient experience of urinary urgency. In this study, the researchers will use a non-significant risk device (i.e., an Urgeometer) to measure urinary urgency in women with overactive bladder.
NCT00434213
This is a study designed to characterize the dermal response of DAYTRANA. Subjects will visit the study site over a period of approximately 14 weeks.
NCT01458574
The study proposes to assess whether compared to placebo, CP-690,550 is effective, safe, and tolerable maintenance therapy in subjects with Ulcerative Colitis (UC). The study proposes to assess whether compared to placebo, CP-690,550 maintenance therapy more effectively achieves mucosal healing and improves quality of life in subjects with UC.The study proposes to assess CP-690,550 pharmacokinetic exposure during maintenance therapy in subjects over the age of 18 years with UC.
NCT00488514
This study was designed to determine long-term safety of TREXIMET (sumatriptan/naproxen sodium) in adolescents for the acute treatment of migraine.
NCT01122901
This phase II trial is studying how well gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 works in treating patients with recurrent or progressive glioblastoma. Gamma-secretase/Notch signalling pathway inhibitor RO4929097 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
NCT00925600
This is a phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate new or worsening lens opacifications in men with non-metastatic prostate cancer receiving denosumab for bone loss due to androgen deprivation therapy.
NCT00351468
An open-label, dose-adjustment, extension study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of eltrombopag for the treatment of subjects with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) who have previously been enrolled in an eltrombopag trial. This study will allow adjustment of the eltrombopag dose to achieve an individualized dose and schedule for each subject. In addition, the ability to reduce the dose of concomitant ITP medications in the presence of eltrombopag, while maintaining platelet counts = 50,000/μL will be investigated.
NCT01342926
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of GSK933776 in the treatment of geographic atrophy secondary to age-related macular degeneration.
NCT00642616
Examine the effects of TI in combination with an anti-diabetic regimen including inhaled insulin versus anti-diabetic treatment without inhaled insulin on lung function \& pulmonary safety
NCT00673153
RATIONALE: Vorinostat may stop the growth of cancer cells by interfering with various proteins needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as gemtuzumab ozogamicin (GO), can block cancer growth in different ways. GO finds cancer cells and helps kill them by carrying a cancer-killing substance to them. Giving vorinostat together with gemtuzumab ozogamicin may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving vorinostat together with gemtuzumab ozogamicin works in treating older patients with previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT01453491
The purpose of this research study is to: * 1\) Test the safety and tolerability of 2 different oral doses of SRT2104 in subjects with ulcerative colitis * 2\) Determine the amount of SRT2104 measured from a single blood sample in addition to colon and/or rectal tissue samples (biopsies) * 3\) Determine whether SRT2104 has any anti-inflammatory effect on the colon and/or rectum when taken orally for 8 weeks * 4\) Determine whether SRT2104 causes any detectable changes to specific biomarkers. A biomarker is a biological marker (or substance such as a protein) that is used as an indicator of changes in a biological state that corresponds to the risk or progression of a disease.
NCT01821118
Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA) is a condition caused by the build-up of a protein called amyloid, predominantly Aβ40, within the walls of brain blood vessels, especially those blood vessels in the occipital lobe of the brain. Probable CAA may be defined as two or more hemorrhages in the brain cortex in individuals 55 years of age or older. This study will examine the study drug (PF-04360365) vs. placebo (saline) at 10 mg/kg - Day 1 and the maintenance dose of the study drug (PF-04360365) vs. placebo (saline) at 7.5mg/kg on Days 30 and 60. Subjects will be followed for 6 months after receiving the last dose of study medication.
NCT00104299
Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is the most common type of small blood vessel inflammation in adults. ANCA-associated vasculitis includes Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) and microscopic polyangiitis (MPA). Rituximab is a man-made antibody used to treat certain types of cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of rituximab in treating patients with WG and MPA. Study hypothesis: Rituximab is not inferior to conventional therapy in its ability to induce disease remission by Month 6.
NCT01267240
This partially randomized phase II trial studies giving capecitabine and vorinostat in treating patients with head and neck cancer that has come back after previous treatment or that has spread to other areas in the body. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Vorinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving capecitabine together with vorinostat is more effective than capecitabine alone in treating patients with cancer of the head and neck cancer.
NCT01254565
The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety and tolerability and efficacy of multiple ascending doses of etelcalcetide in hemodialysis patients for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT).
NCT00825500
Assess the safety and efficacy of Staccato Loxapine in patients with moderate to severe migraine headache with or without aura in an outpatient setting.
NCT02227459
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of multiple doses of ND-L02-s0201 in subjects with moderate to extensive hepatic fibrosis.
NCT01114529
The purpose of this study was to determine whether an early Calcineurin Inhibitor (CNI) to everolimus conversion at 10-14 weeks post transplantation improves renal allograft function without compromising efficacy compared to standard CNI treatment in de novo renal allograft recipients. In addition, the study was designed to evaluate the impact of a CNI-free regimen on evolution of cardiovascular parameters in de novo renal allograft recipients
