NCT05267158
The incidence of brain metastases is expected to increase because of better treatments of primary tumours. Novel diagnostic and therapeutic techniques are continuously being developed, all of which need thorough evaluation before they can be implemented in clinical routine. Randomized Controlled Trials are the gold standard to do so, but they have shown many challenges, especially when applied in a cancer setting. .The 'cohort multiple Randomized Controlled Trial (cmRCT)' design is a promising design for multiple (simultaneous) randomized evaluations of experimental interventions, with potential for increased recruitment, comparability and long-term outcomes as a standard. This design will speed up the process of translating treatment innovations to the daily clinic.
NCT04627376
The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a multifactorial education and support program for the prevention of cancer-related cachexia syndrome, for patients and their family caregivers during anti-cancer treatment.
NCT04676204
STATURE is a prospective observational six-arm translation multi-site study that will run for approx. 4.5 years. The primary aim is to measure treatment burden and its relationship to medication adherence across six self-administered oral disease-modifying therapies (cladribine, dimethyl fumarate, fingolimod, teriflunomide, ozanimod, and diroximel fumarate) in multiple sclerosis (MS). The information gained will assist prescribing decision-making; accounting for medication burden at a patient level and potential implications on medication adherence and persistence, thus minimising primary and secondary healthcare costs. Three-hundred and twenty-three individuals with MS will be recruited into the study. Patient-reported outcome measures will be administered via Qualtrics, a secure online data collection tool. Medicare and pharmaceutical benefits scheme (PBS) data will also be collected.
