NCT00057720
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate superiority in survival in favor of TLK286 as compared to active control therapy with Doxil/Caelyx or Hycamtin in the intent-to-treat (ITT) populations.
NCT00024661
LErafAON is a liposome encapsulated c-raf antisense oligonucleotide. Raf-1 is a protein produced by human cells, both normal and cancerous, which may help protect tumor cells from radiation. Antisense oligonucleotides are very specific drugs, which can decrease the amount of a certain target protein by blocking the gene that makes it. Antisense oligonucleotide to raf gene can reduce the amount of Raf-1 protein in tumor cells. Liposomes are tiny globules of fat, which can carry drugs in the body. The experimental agent LErafAON is composed of liposomes carrying antisense oligonucleotide against the Raf-1 protein. It is hoped that decreased Raf-1 in the cancer cells will make them more sensitive to the radiation therapy. Patients with advanced solid tumors will receive IV infusions of LErafAON over at least 60 minutes, once per week, for 8 weeks. In the absence of progression, patients may continue on weekly treatment. Pre-medications will be administered prior to each dose of study medication. Cohorts of at least three patients will be entered at escalating dose-levels. Each cohort will be observed for at least ten days after receiving the first dose of treatment before additional patients are treated at a higher dose level. Patients will be followed for one month after receiving the last dose of study medication. The study will stop when a maximum tolerated dose (MTD) is identified. Dose escalation within a patient will not be allowed.
NCT00473577
To determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of CRA-024781 IV given by 2-hour intravenous infusions in patients with refractory solid or hematologic malignancies. To evaluate safety and tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and to evaluate bioavailability of CRA-024781 IV when administered in a single oral dose.
NCT00893217
The purpose of this study is to valuate safety and tolerability of Betaseron.
NCT00087698
This study aims to determine how successful the chemotherapy regimen of Pemetrexed plus cisplatin before surgery is at killing all the tumor so that none is left at the time of surgery. Following surgery, all eligible patients will receive radiation to the chest. How patients respond, whether the cancer returns and if so, where, will also be monitored.
NCT00358930
This is a Phase 2, multi-center, open label study of ARQ 501 in patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic squamous cell cancer of the head and neck (SCCHN).
NCT00243503
The current study is to evaluate: Overall response rate for the combination of trastuzumab and SU011248 in metastatic or locally recurrent breast cancer; evaluate safety and tolerability of the combination; measure duration of tumor control and survival; assess patient reported outcomes; assess PK in combination with trastuzumab and compare efficacy and safety.
NCT00202982
This is a study to test if a new higher dose of Copaxone is more effective in treating relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis than the currently available 20 mg dose.
NCT00191152
This is a phase III randomized study between the docetaxel/gemcitabine and docetaxel/ capecitabine doublets, with crossover to the alternate agent. The experimental arm will receive gemcitabine 1000 mg/m2 intravenous (IV) over 30 minutes days 1 and 8 and docetaxel 75 mg/m2 IV day 1 over 1 hour repeated every three weeks. The comparator arm will receive docetaxel 75 mgm/m2 IV day 1 over 1 hour and oral capecitabine 1000 mg/m2 twice daily, days 1 through 14 repeated every three weeks. Patients who progress on the experimental arm, will be treated with capecitabine as dosed on the comparator arm. Patients who progress on the comparator arm will be treated with gemcitabine as dosed on the experimental arm.
NCT00599274
The purpose of this study is to find out if weekly Avonex works as well as three times a week Rebif in subjects with relapsing multiple sclerosis.
NCT00424788
Natalizumab (TYSABRI) is a protein-based drug that is manufactured by Biogen Idec in partnership with Elan Pharmaceuticals. Natalizumab is approved in the US and Europe for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The purpose of this study is to determine whether the amount of natalizumab (TYSABRI) that is present in your blood (plasma) can be reduced or eliminated by separating and removing the plasma and replacing it with other fluids, a process called plasma exchange.
NCT00511849
The purpose of this study is to test SU011248 (sunitinib) in combination with paclitaxel/carboplatin. This combination regimen will be tested for safety and antitumor activity.
NCT00411723
RTL1000 is a new agent that has not been previously tested in humans. It is thought that RTL may specifically control the abnormal immune response or attack against the insulation on the nerves that occurs in multiple sclerosis. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possible side effects of a single intravenous dose of RTL1000 in subjects with multiple sclerosis. Some subjects will also be asked to participate in one or both of two substudies, one to test blood samples to see how the body's immune system responds after administration of RTL1000, and the other to test blood samples to see how the body absorbs and eliminates the RTL1000.
NCT00095108
This study is being done to see if an experimental drug called recombinant interleukin-21 (rIL-21) when given to patients with stage 4 malignant melanoma or stage 4 kidney cancer is safe and has any effect on these types of cancers.
NCT00300027
The purpose of this study is to define the recommended dose of BMS-582664 that could be safely combined with 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, and irinotecan (FOLFIRI) or 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, and oxaliplatin (FOLFOX) chemotherapy regimens in patients with advanced gastrointestinal malignancies and to evaluate the safety profile, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of these combinations.
NCT00050687
This study will test the safety, tolerance, and efficacy of different doses of oral gallium maltolate. Patients will receive oral gallium maltolate twice daily for 28-consecutive days followed by 14 days off treatment. This dosing cycle will be repeated. Adverse effects will be assessed and the levels of gallium in serum will be measured. Any effect of the drug on the cancer and any improvement in cancer-related symptoms will also be measured.
NCT00077688
Phase 2B, multicenter study evaluating the safety and efficacy of weekly TOCOSOL Paclitaxel in taxane-naive patients receiving second line chemotherapy for metastatic or locally advanced, unresectable transitional cell carcinoma of the urothelium
NCT00251992
The aim is to evaluate if the resolution of upper abdominal symptoms (pain or burning) during an acid suppressive test trial of esomprazole given daily for 7 days predicts symptoms resolution at the end of a subsequent treatment period of 7 weeks.
NCT00063570
The purpose of the study is to determine if the two drugs can help patients feel better while causing the tumor to become smaller or disappear; evaluate the safety of giving both pemetrexed and gemcitabine in patients with advanced breast cancer.
NCT00417079
This is a randomized, open-label, multi-center study comparing the safety and efficacy of XRP6258 plus prednisone to mitoxantrone plus prednisone in the treatment of hormone refractory metastatic prostate cancer previously treated with a Taxotere®-containing regimen. The primary objective is overall survival. Secondary objectives include progression free survival, overall response rate, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response/progression, pain response/progression, overall safety, and pharmacokinetics. Patients will be treated until disease progression, death, unacceptable toxicity, or for a maximum of 10 cycles. Patients will have long-term follow-up for a maximum of up to 2 years.
