NCT02446145
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a disease with a poor prognosis including a 5-year overall survival (OS) of app. 20% for the entire population. In particular, the outcome of elderly patients with AML is dismal and the majority of patients die within the first year after diagnosis. This is also because treatment options for elderly patients with AML significantly differ from patients of younger age. In fact, comorbid conditions are common among the elderly such as heart disease, renal insufficiency and vascular disease thus influencing the ability to withstand intensive therapy. Elderly patients are also more likely than younger patients to develop severe, life threatening infections during the course of treatment. In addition to infectious complications, hemorrhages due to severe thrombocytopenia are responsible for morbidity and mortality in a considerable amount of patients. Compared with younger AML patients, elderly individuals with AML display a higher incidence of poor-prognosis karyotypes, of a preceding myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and greater expression of proteins involved in intrinsic resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. As a result conventional anthracycline based chemotherapy is only infrequently used in patients above the age of 65 years. Based on a recent randomized trial (Kantarjian et al. 2012) low-intensity epigenetic therapy with decitabine (DAC) has become the first-line standard of care in most European countries including Germany. Nevertheless, even with this treatment the 1-year OS is approximately 30 % only. Furthermore, severe thrombocytopenia is a main side effect of this therapy and can prevent adequate continuation of treatment being crucially for treatment success. Supportive care with platelet transfusions is effective primarily only over short periods and often requires hospitalization and therefore lowers the quality of life of these patients in their palliative situation. Therefore, patients could benefit from an approach aiming at an increase of platelet counts through combined use of Azacitidine (AZA) or DAC with an oral thrombopoietin receptor agonist like eltrombopag (EPAG). This could allow for a better adherence to DAC/AZA therapy by preventing dose delays due to prolonged thrombocytopenia. Additionally, the potential antileukemic effect of EPAG could also be beneficial for these AML patients.
NCT06336954
This prospective, single-arm trial explores the efficacy of Adibelimab monoclonal antibody combined with Famitinib and chemotherapy in treating locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC patients with negative driver genes who have progressed after PD-1 monoclonal antibody and chemotherapy treatment. The study focuses on assessing progression-free survival (PFS) in 40 participants. Key objectives include evaluating PFS and understanding the progression patterns post-first-line immunotherapy, with an interest in whether switching from PD-1 to PD-L1 inhibitors can overcome immune resistance.
NCT04167813

NCT01028430
B-CLL is the most prevalent leukemia in the Western hemisphere, accounting for \~25% of all leukemia's (1). This disease occurs virtually exclusively in the aging population, with the median age of diagnosis ranging between the mid 60s and the early 70s. Indeed, its occurrence before the age of 50 is quite unusual. This increase in occurrence with age is not unique to B-CLL; rather, it is characteristic several B cell lymphoproliferative disorders (e.g., non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma). Gender and race also influence the development of B-CLL. Thus, the ratio of men: women is \~2:1 and the prevalence is increased in Caucasians. The rate of occurrence of B-CLL among Asians is significantly lower than for Caucasians and this does not increase with immigration to the West. DNA sequence analyses performed in our laboratory and in those of others indicate that B-CLL cells from unrelated patients share Ig V gene characteristics. These include the use of selected genes, the association of these genes with certain D and JH gene segments that code for unique CDR3 motifs, and the occasional occurrence of highly similar VHDJH + VLJL pairs. In \~50% cases, these rearranged genes are mutated, whereas in the others mutations are infrequent; this difference is related to the VH gene family used by the B-CLL cell.
NCT06323265

NCT06332872
The goal of this clinical trial is to Comparison effectiveness of Oral ivermectin , 1% Permethrin shampoo and 4% Dimeticone liquid gel in the treatment of Pediculosis capitis, to assess the prevalence of lice and associated risk factors between severity groups by using questionnaire-based surveys and diagnostic tests among school children in Baan Nayao, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand. The main questions it aims to answer are * What is more effective between Oral ivermectin , 1% Permethrin shampoo and 4%Dimeticone liquid gel in the treatment of Pediculosis capitis in school children in Baan Nayao, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand? * What is Prevalence and risk factors of being infected with in head lice in school and community? * What is Side effects of Oral ivermectin , 1% Permethrin shampoo and 4%Dimeticone liquid gel? Participants will receive three different drugs are * oral ivermectin * 4% Dimeticone liquid gel * 1% Permethrin shampoo Participants voluntarily received oral ivermectin as per medical prescription, with treatment outcomes, side effects, and satisfaction levels monitored following two treatment cycles. Those exhibiting persistent lice infestations were subsequently treated with 1% permethrin shampoo, the standard treatment, while alternatives were provided for individuals allergic to permethrin. These findings will contribute to formulating tailored, effective, and safe treatment regimens for future patients.
NCT06333509
A Phase 1/2 Open label, multicenter, clinical trial of autologous CAR T-cell therapy targeting GPRC5D, in participants with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma or relapsed/refractory primary plasma cell leukemia.
NCT00381680
This randomized phase III trial is studying low-dose vincristine to see how well it works compared with high-dose vincristine when given together with different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating young patients with intermediate-risk relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving the drugs in different ways and different doses may kill more cancer cells..
NCT06294249
The goal of this split-mouth randomized clinical trial study was to investigate the effect of using a laser on pain and discomfort following flapless dental implant surgery. It was hypothesized that laser did not have any impact on post-op pain. Therefore, the study aimed to compare pain and discomfort following flapless dental implant surgeries with or without a laser.

NCT06331650
To evaluate the safety and tolerability of carbognilumab combined with chemotherapy as the first-line treatment for patients with STK11 mutated advanced or postoperative recurrent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
NCT01684150
The purpose of this study is to determine the safe dose of EPZ-5676, to evaluate the safety of EPZ-5676 in patients with advanced hematologic malignancies, and to conduct a preliminary assessment of the anti-leukemia activity of EPZ-5676 in patients with acute leukemias bearing rearrangements of the MLL gene. Currently this study is in the MLL-r restricted/expansion phase and is only enrolling patients with rearrangements involving the MLL gene, including 11q23 or partial tandem duplications (PTD).
NCT01962948
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of ganetespib when given together with paclitaxel and to see how well they work in treating patients with recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Ganetespib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving paclitaxel and ganetespib may be an effective treatment for ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.
NCT03412409
This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) regimen in elderly or high comorbidity burden patients who receive haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT). Haplo-HSCT is an effective treatment option for patients who did not have identical sibling donor (ISD) or unrelated donor (URD). However, post-transplant transplant-related mortality (TRM) is one of the major causes for transplant failure, and the risk of TRM for old patients or those with high comorbidity burden was higher. RIC regimen may decrease the risk of TRM for haplo-HSCT recipients. The study hypothesis: Using RIC haplo-HSCT regimen in elderly patients or those with high comorbidity burden can reduce TRM and improve survival.
NCT02043964
This is a multicentric and prospective study for the validation of a diagnostic method in multiple sclerosis. Our hypothesis is that there is a characteristic profile of tears that can be recognized in order to help in the diagnosis of this pathology and that could possibly replace the lumbar punction which is an invasive method. Semi-automatic and automatic techniques of isoelectric focusing will be developed for analyzing data from tears. These results will help in the identification of markers of this disease.
