The HeartMate PHP System is a temporary (\<6 hours) ventricular assist device indicated for use during high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) performed electively or urgently in hemodynamically stable patients with severe coronary artery disease, when a heart team, including a cardiac surgeon, has determined high-risk PCI is the appropriate therapeutic option. Use of the HeartMate PHP Systems in these patients may prevent hemodynamic instability, which can result from repeat episodes of reversible myocardial ischemia that occur during planned temporary coronary occlusions and may reduce peri-and post-procedural adverse events.

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of the Thoratec HeartMate II Left Ventricular Assist System (LVAS) as a bridge to cardiac transplantation in end-stage heart failure patients who are listed for cardiac transplant but are at imminent risk of dying. The HeartMate II LVAS was approved by the US FDA on April 21, 2008, as a bridge to cardiac transplantation (reference PMA P060040). It was approved for commercial distribution in Canada on May 20, 2009 (reference Medical Device Licence #79765). Patients enrolled into the clinical trial will continue to be followed until all have reached a clinical outcome.

The purpose of this study is to compare health-related quality of life (HRQOL) outcomes in older (60-80 years) advanced heart failure (HF) patients who undergo heart transplantation (HT) or mechanical circulatory support (MCS) as a permanent implant (i.e., destination therapy \[DT\]) and their caregivers. Our study will contribute to better patient-centered care of older advanced HF patients and their caregivers, by informing decision making and guiding strategies to enhance post-operative HRQOL.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of a PB no- added-fat and the AHA and MED in obese (BMI \>95%) children ages 9-18 with hypercholesterolemia (\>169 mg/dl) and a parent or guardian. Eligible patients will be identified by utilizing the Pediatric Obesity Registry. When possible, in-person discussions or phone calls with their primary or tertiary care physicians will introduce eligible patients and their parents to the study. All eligible patients and parents will receive letters describing the study and requesting their participation. Subjects can choose not to participate in the study, and their health care will not be affected in any way. Subjects not participating will be asked if they are willing to answer a brief questionnaire about why they chose not to participate. The proposed study will be carried out for a total of 52 weeks. The investigators expect to recruit a total of 180 participants (30 children and 30 parents/guardians in each of the three groups). Each child and parent/guardian pair will be randomly assigned to either PB no-added-fat, AHA or MED.

SCORE is an active, prospective, non-randomized, multi-center outcome-oriented registry of patients implanted with St Jude Medical (SJM) market-released cardiac rhythm management (CRM) products. This registry will be conducted in the United States (US). The primary purpose of the registry is to evaluate and publish acute and long-term performance of market-released SJM CRM products by analyzing product survival probabilities. Product status and any related adverse events will be collected to measure survival probabilities.

This is an 8-week randomized controlled trial to help address health, resilience, and well-being. Participants are randomized into either a health education group or an arts-based health education group. Both groups will attend for 8 weeks and various study assessments will be conducted in order to measure the experience and impact of the program. Anyone 18 years and older with a chronic health condition (for example, diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, asthma, weight, anxiety, depression, cardiac, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and many more) are eligible to participate.
