DIABAGE (Diabetes Advanced Glycation End products) study was conducted between 2015 and 2017. It included 196 type 1 diabetic patients with more than 10 years of diabetes. It revealed a significant association between the occurrence of vascular complications and tissular Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs) as well as with some circulating AGEs. This protocol is a continuation of that initial research.

L-PLUS (Lightning PLUS) is the code name of a blood glucose monitoring system (BGMS) consisting of a new meter and marketed CONTOUR PLUS® test strip. This clinical trial will assess the performance (accuracy) of the L-PLUS meter by lay users with diabetes enrolled as subjects in the study, and by health care professionals (also called study staff). The trial will follow the requirements and procedures described in ISO 15197:2013 International Standard.

This study is conducted to evaluate validity of Diabetes Risk Assessment in Dentistry Score (DDS) in Indian population as a screening tool to identify patients with prediabetes and undiagnosed type 2 diabetes in dental setting. The DDS score of the patient will be correlated with the HbA1c levels and periodontal status of the patient. Such a study has been conducted in Germany but none has been validated in Indian population. Hence this study aims to assess the performance of DDS screening tool in Indian population.

The study team will examine the effect of a ketogenic diet alone and ketogenic diet supplemented with oral ketones on how the body of individuals with type 2 diabetes respond to insulin, regulates insulin secretion, food intake and energetic pathways and influences body fat distribution.
