NCT06156215
The goal of this cluster randomized clinical trial is to test the efficacy of messaging interventions to increase booster vaccine uptake in adults in the emergency department(ED). The main question\[s\] and goals of this study are: * does the intervention of vaccine messaging increase booster vaccine uptake at 30 days post ED visit? * does the intervention of asking about vaccine acceptance increase booster vaccine uptake at 30 days post ED visit? * considering recent national changes to funding and availability of updated vaccines, the investigators will examine the effects of these changes on vaccine acceptance and uptake in ED populations. Specifically, they will stratify EDs and ED patients according to the ED availability of vaccines, and they will also examine whether costs and availability of vaccines are a deterrent to patient acceptance and uptake of vaccines
NCT04798027
The primary objectives of the study are: * To describe the safety profile of all participants in each age group and each study intervention group up to 12 months post-last dose. * To describe the neutralizing antibody profile at Day 1, Day 22, and Day 36 of each study intervention group. The secondary objectives of the study are: * To describe binding antibody profile from Day 1 to Day 387 of each study intervention group. * To describe the neutralizing antibody profile from Day 91 to Day 387 of each study intervention group. * To describe the occurrence of virologically-confirmed coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19)-like illness and serologically-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. * To evaluate the correlation/association between antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine and the risk of virologically-confirmed COVID-19-like illness and/or serologically-confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.
NCT05822583
COVID-19 can trigger a dysregulated immune response, and previous studies have shown that immune modulation can improve outcomes in hospitalized patients. This trial is designed to determine whether intensification of immune modulation early in the course of the disease (while patients are on low flow oxygen) with abatacept (active arm) combined with standard of care (SOC) improves recovery as compared with placebo + SOC (placebo arm). For both groups, intensification of immunomodulation will be provided as part of SOC in case of signs of disease progression (patient requires high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) or more support) and/or if the patient has rapidly increasing oxygen requirement.
NCT06683352
This study is to learn about flu and COVID vaccines, either alone or when mixed together. Healthy people aged 18 or older can join. Participants will get one shot in each arm, either a flu or COVID vaccine, alone or mixed. The study lasts about 6 months, and participants need to visit the research site at least 3 times.
NCT04761822
Background: Allergic reactions have been reported to occur after vaccination with both the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine. Allergic reactions range from mild to severe and include life- threatening anaphylactic reactions, although no deaths have been reported with either vaccine. This study is designed with two principal aims: * To estimate the proportions of systemic allergic reactions to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine in a High-Allergy/Mast Cell Disorder (HA/MCD) population, and * If the risk in the HA/MCD is demonstrable, to determine whether the proportions are higher in the HA/MCD in comparison to a representative population without severe allergies or mast cell disorders
NCT05897541
The purpose of this study is to measure the proportion of participants who are infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (positive reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction \[RT-PCR\] test) and have coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) symptom(s) with S-217622 tablets compared with placebo tablets in participants who are household contacts of an individual with symptomatic COVID-19.
NCT06821100
The goal of this research is to learn more about ZADAXIN® (trade name; thymalfasin generic; Ta1 for short) and determine if Ta1 has any benefit in increasing the immune response to the COVID-19 vaccine. Ta1 has been shown to stimulate the immune system to fight infections. This research study will test the safety and possible harms of Ta1 when it is given to people at different dose levels before COVID-19 vaccination.
NCT05965752
This platform protocol is designed to be flexible so that it is suitable for a wide range of settings within health care systems, for remote settings, and in community settings where it can be integrated into COVID-19 programs and subsequent treatment plans. This protocol is a prospective, multi-center, multi-arm, randomized, controlled platform trial evaluating potential interventions for PASC-mediated cognitive dysfunction. The hypothesis is that PASC associated dysfunction in cognitive domains, such as executive function and attention, may be improved by interventions that selectively focus on enhancing those domains.
NCT05261139
The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety, pharmacokinetics (pharmacokinetics helps us understand how the drug is changed and eliminated from your body after you take it), and efficacy (how well a study treatment works in the study) of the study medicine (called nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) for potential treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The study medicine will be given to patients under 18 years of age with COVID-19 that are not hospitalized but are at risk for severe disease.
NCT05606016
Antigen self-testing kits are more available at this stage in the pandemic, but among vulnerable populations, use is still low and instructions for antigen testing are not typically designed for low health literacy populations. Studies are needed to explore access and use of antigen tests among vulnerable populations and examine if low-health-literacy-designed interventions improve COVID-19 testing decisions and behaviors. This study will focus on understanding factors associated with rapid COVID-19 testing, specifically. The primary objectives of the embedded study are to 1) Determine the effectiveness of community-level intervention using door-to-door recruitment and education in increasing COVID-19 testing and 2) Compare the effectiveness of the CHW- Facilitated Self-Sampling Intervention (FSSI) vs. CHW Testing Navigation Intervention (TNI).
NCT04348435
Hope Biosciences is conducting a research study of an investigational product called allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (abbreviated as HB-adMSCs) to provide immune support against COVID-19. The study purpose is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of five IV infusions of HB-adMSCs in subjects with no signs of COVID-19.
NCT05386472
The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about how study medicine (Paxlovid, which contains nirmatrelvir and ritonavir) is changed and eliminated from the body, as well as its safety, and the extent to which side effects can be tolerated for treatment of pregnant women with mild or moderate COVID-19 compared to non-pregnant women with mild or moderate COVID-19. This study is seeking participants who: * are expecting a healthy baby and are in their second or third trimester pregnancy and have mild or moderate COVID-19 * are not pregnant and have mild or moderate COVID-19. All participants in this study will take Paxlovid by mouth every 12 hours for 5 days. We will study the experiences of people receiving the study medicine. This will help us decide if the study medicine is safe. All participants will take part in this study for at least 34 days; pregnant participants will take part until their delivery, so that the study duration may be up to 6 months, depending on their delivery date. During this time, participants will have 7to 8 visits and, if pregnant, a visit at delivery. Around 2 to 3 visits and the delivery visit will be done in person (at the clinic or at the participant's home). The other 5 visits may be done over the phone, unless in-person visit is necessary as decided by the doctor. Blood samples will be collected on the first 4 to 5 study visits (and at other study visits, if necessary).
NCT04765384
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and reactogenicity of Ad26.COV2.S administered intramuscularly (IM) as a 1-dose schedule at the standard dose level in adult participants during the second and/or third trimester of pregnancy and (potentially) post-partum; to assess the humoral immune response in peripheral blood of adult participants to Ad26.COV2.S administered IM as a 1-dose schedule during the second and/or third trimester of pregnancy, 28 days after vaccination.
NCT04762680
The primary objectives of the study are: To assess the safety profile of the study vaccines in each study intervention group. To assess the neutralizing antibody profile after primary series vaccination in SARS-CoV-2-naïve adults. To demonstrate that a booster dose of monovalent or bivalent SARS-CoV-2 vaccine given to adults previously vaccinated with an authorized/approved COVID-19 vaccine induces an immune response that is non-inferior to the response induced by a twodose priming series with the monovalent vaccine, and superior to that observed immediately before booster. The secondary objectives of the study are: To assess the neutralizing and binding antibody profiles after primary series vaccination at pre-defined time points during the study. To assess the neutralizing and binding antibody responses of booster vaccination. To describe the occurrences of laboratory-confirmed symptomatic COVID19 after primary series and booster vaccination. To describe the occurrences of serologically-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection after primary series vaccination.
NCT05972993
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, reactogenicity and immune responses of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mRNA-CR-04 vaccine construct when administered in healthy adults previously vaccinated with SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines.
NCT04402957
To evaluate the proportion of subjects alive and free of respiratory failure (e.g. need for non-invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation, high flow oxygen, or ECMO) and free of the need for continued renal replacement therapy (RRT) on Day 28. The need for continued RRT at Day 28 will be defined as either dialysis in the past 3 days (Day 26, 27, or 28) or an eGFR on Day 28 \<10 mL/min/1.73 m2.
NCT05091307
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the non-inferiority (NI) of the humoral immune response of the 4 influenza vaccine strains after concomitant administration of the Ad26.COV2.S vaccine and a seasonal quadrivalent standard-dose influenza vaccine versus the administration of a seasonal quadrivalent standard-dose influenza vaccine administered alone; and to demonstrate the NI of the binding antibody response after concomitant administration of Ad26.COV2.S vaccine and a seasonal quadrivalent standard-dose influenza vaccine versus the administration of Ad26.COV2.S vaccine administered alone.
NCT04193878
This research study seeks to establish the effectiveness of a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid and a beta agonist compared to placebo for the prevention of acute respiratory failure (ARF) in hospitalized patients with pneumonia and hypoxemia.
NCT05872958
This is a dose exploration study to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics (PK) of AZD3152 in healthy adult male and female participants, across different dose levels and routes of administration (ie, Intramuscular \[IM\] injection and Intravenous \[IV\] infusion).
NCT06680375
This study will evaluate the reactogenicity, safety, and immune response of Flu Seasonal/SARS-CoV-2 mRNA (mRNA Flu/COVID-19) combination vaccine. The flu portion will target multiple strains of the flu virus, while the COVID-19 part will focus on the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Both parts of this vaccine have been tested individually before. This will be the first study to test the combined vaccine in humans in healthy adult participants.
