NCT00984321
The purpose of this study is to examine whether psychoeducation counseling for older cancer patients undergoing treatment is feasible and worthwhile. The investigators will test this in a group or individual phone counseling format. Many cancer patients seek counseling to help with the emotional burden of their illnesses. Counseling often helps them cope with cancer by giving them a place to express their feelings. This geriatric-specific psychoeducation is intended to help older cancer patients cope with the burden of cancer and aging. The purpose of this study is to see if this type of counseling helps reduce depressive symptoms, anxiety, perception of loneliness and isolation. In addition this counseling aims to improve coping and quality of life (QOL). Individuals who choose not to take part in the intervention study will be asked if they are willing to participate in a brief refusal sub study. The purpose of the refusal substudy is to compare levels of distress in patients that choose to participate and those that decline. This will yield valuable data that will help us distinguish between patients that decline due to lack of interest in research and those that decline due to high levels of distress. Participation in the refusal sub study consists of completion of 2 brief questionnaires.
NCT02694809
The main purpose of this study is to determine if taking the study drug, conjugated estrogens/bazedoxifene (Duavee®) causes any changes in the proliferation markers within the breast tissue of the study subjects. The study drug is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in healthy postmenopausal women to treat certain symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes. Since it is not approved in women with DCIS, its use in this study is experimental. This study will also look at whether taking the study drug causes any significant or undesirable side effects in women with DCIS. The researchers hope that this study will help them determine if taking the study drug is safe in women taking DCIS and if it can possibly reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in women with DCIS.
NCT06529302
The aim of this multicenter retrospective cohort study is to determine the safety of omission of axillary lymph node dissection in patients with residual micrometastases after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
NCT03906331
Expanded access for participants with cancer with RET activation who are ineligible for an ongoing selpercatinib (also known as LOXO-292) clinical trial or have other considerations that prevent access to selpercatinib through an existing clinical trial. The treating physician/investigator contacts Lilly when, based on their medical opinion, a patient meets the criteria for inclusion in the expanded access program.
NCT04215146
The purpose of this study is to find out the possible anti-cancer effect of pelareorep in combination with chemotherapy \[paclitaxel\] and avelumab in treating a type of breast cancer called Hormone Receptor positive (HR+)/Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 negative(HER2-) breast cancer, which is either locally advanced or has metastasized (cancer that has spread in your body). The study will investigate if pelareorep in combination with paclitaxel and avelumab is more effective than paclitaxel alone, or pelareorep and paclitaxel. The safety of the combination treatments will also be evaluated.
NCT03206203
This randomized phase II trial studies how well carboplatin with or without atezolizumab works in treating patients with stage IV triple negative breast cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving carboplatin with atezolizumab may work better in treating patients with stage IV triple negative breast cancer
NCT02437318
To determine whether treatment with alpelisib plus fulvestrant prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) compared to fulvestrant and placebo in men and postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2)-negative advanced breast cancer, who received prior treatment with an aromatase Inhibitor (AI) either as (neo)adjuvant or for advanced disease.
NCT00248287
The purpose of this study is to determine the objective response rates produced by irinotecan and carboplatin therapy with or without Erbitux in patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer.
NCT01889238
The purpose of this study is to determine if enzalutamide is safe and effective in the treatment of patients with advanced breast cancer that express the androgen receptor but do not express the estrogen or progesterone receptor and are not Her2 amplified.
NCT03523572
This is a study of trastuzumab deruxtecan for the treatment of HER2-positive unresectable or metastatic breast cancer following two or more prior anti-HER2 based regimens. Participants will receive this study drug along with a cancer drug, an immune checkpoint inhibitor, anti-PD1, called nivolumab. The study will be done in two parts: * Part 1 is to identify the recommended dose to use for treatment. * Part 2 is to find out how well the combination works, and how safe and tolerable it is.
NCT05349227
This study intends to explore feasibility, acceptability, and outcomes related to the use of a digital health coaching intervention for individuals who have completed primary therapy for cancer. Up to 625 individuals with diverse cancer diagnoses will be enrolled across up to 8 clinical sites to participate in a randomized wait-list control study. Those in the intervention group will receive 6 months of digital coaching up front followed by 6 months of ongoing monitoring via patient reported and clinical outcomes, as well as wearable data. Those in the control group will be monitored via patient reported and clinical outcomes as well as wearable data for the first 6 months followed by 6 months of digital health coaching. Both groups will collect fecal microbiome samples at enrollment and month 6. The study aims to explore if and how digital health coaching may be used to enhance outcomes for individuals following completion of primary cancer therapy.
NCT02632045
This is a randomized trial for patients with metastatic hormone receptor (HR)-positive human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative breast cancer who have progressed on an aromatase inhibitor plus a CDK4/6 inhibitor (either palbociclib or ribociclib) to either fulvestrant alone or fulvestrant with ribociclib (LEE-011). The purpose of the trial is to determine whether there is continued benefit for patients to remain on a CDK4/6 inhibitor at the time of switching anti-estrogen therapy. As ribociclib and palbociclib have a similar toxicity and drug profile and mechanism of action, the investigators feel that it is appropriate for patients to receive either drug with an aromatase inhibitor prior to randomization.
NCT06230185
A prospective, multicenter, observational study to evaluate the correlation of Molecular Residual Disease (MRD) detection using circulating tumor DNA guided test to pathological complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in stage I-III triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Results from this study aim to improve MRD detection and disease outcomes for future patients.
NCT03513614
RATIONALE: The use of tailored axillary dissection as a tailored procedure will avoid surgical overtreatment by selectively removing the lymph nodes that are affected by the cancer, thereby sparing many women the unnecessary complications of a radical surgery, providing a better quality of life while keeping the same efficacy. PURPOSE: The phase III trial is evaluating the optimal treatment for breast cancer patients in terms of surgery and radiotherapy.
