This open-label feasibility trial evaluates the use of the Keen2 awareness bracelet for adults with trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder). Participants will use the bracelet for eight weeks. During the first four weeks, they will wear the device and log contextual information (such as emotions, location, and activity) after each detected hair-pulling episode. Based on these data, participants will then receive tailored predictive alerts designed to support use of stimulus control, competing responses, and coping strategies. The study will assess usability, adherence, and changes in self-reported hair-pulling severity and awareness.

This project will examine the effect using the Keen 2 on hair pulling styles (automatic and focused), the severity of hair pulling behaviors, and related psychiatric symptoms. Given that the Keen2 is anticipated to increase awareness of pulling behavior (but not necessarily change pulling behavior), the investigators hypothesize that the Keen 2 will increase awareness of pulling behaviors and reduce automatic pulling behavior. The investigators will explore reductions in overall hair pulling severity and related psychiatric symptoms.

Trichotillomania is characterized by recurrent hair pulling resulting in hair loss causing significant distress and impairment which persists despite repeated attempts to stop. Behavioral based therapies focused on increasing awareness of hair pulling followed by the use of an incompatible behavior have proven effective. In an effort to enhance awareness, a wrist worn motion detection device was created. In this study, we will test the feasibility of the HabitAware device and accompanying app as a system for delivering self-administered habit reversal training (HRT).

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of inositol for the treatment of compulsive hair pulling, also known as trichotillomania. Inositol is used for diabetic nerve pain, panic disorder, high cholesterol, insomnia, cancer, depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, promoting hair growth, a skin disorder called psoriasis, and treating side effects of medical treatment with some medications, including lithium. The hypothesis to be tested is that Inositol will be effective and well tolerated in patients with trichotillomania compared to placebo. The proposed study will provide needed data on the treatment of the disabling disorder that currently lacks a clearly effective treatment.

The goal of the proposed study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dronabinol in trichotillomania and other body-focused repetitive behaviors such as skin-picking disorder. 50 subjects with DSM-5 trichotillomania or skin-picking disorder will receive 10 weeks of double-blind dronabinol or placebo. The hypothesis to be tested is that dronabinol will be effective and well tolerated in patients with trichotillomania and/or skin-picking disorder compared to placebo. The proposed study will provide needed data on the treatment of disabling disorders that currently lacks a clearly effective treatment.

This study will be the first randomized controlled trial of Comprehensive Behavior Modification (ComB) as a treatment of trichotillomania (TTM). ComB treatment (12 weekly sessions, following a manual developed in an earlier treatment development project) will be compared to Minimal Attention Control among adults (N = 42) with TTM.

The primary purpose of the current study is to evaluate the effectiveness of providing treatment for adolescents with trichotillomania through the use of telehealth. Parent or legal guardians' psychological flexibility scores will be assessed to determine if their levels of flexibility potentially moderate treatment outcomes. The study will test the following hypotheses: Hypothesis 1: Telepsychotherapy will result in significantly better trichotillomania symptom outcomes for adolescents than a waitlist control condition. Hypothesis 2: Telepsychotherapy will result in significantly better psychological flexibility outcomes for adolescents than a waitlist control condition. Hypothesis 3: Telepsychotherapy will result in significantly better overall wellbeing outcomes for adolescents than a waitlist control condition. Hypothesis 4: Within-group changes (that include both conditions following treatment) will be significant from pre-treatment to post-treatment and will not significantly differ from post-treatment at 3, 6, and 12-month follow-up.

The principal aim of this study is to establish the impact of Cognitive Training in patients with primary Hair-pulling Disorder. Half of the participants will be training with the true training intervention and the other half with the active control intervention. Study findings will also provide information on whether an internet based CT intervention, done at patients' homes, is feasible as a mode of treatment for HPD patients in SA.

The purpose of this study is to better understand the long-term progress of people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related conditions such as anorexia nervosa, Tourette syndrome, and trichotillomania. This study involves the screening and follow-up of individuals with OCD and OCD-related disorders. Participants will be screened with a medical and psychiatric evaluation, questionnaires, and neurological testing. Participants will then have study visits every 4 to 12 weeks to undergo symptom and daily functioning evaluations, personality tests, blood and urine tests, memory tests, brain scans, and other clinical exams. Participants will be assessed with interviews and paper-and-pencil or computer-assisted tests. Participants may have the opportunity to participate in drug studies and to join a monthly OCD support group. At the end of the study, participants will be referred to community or private treatment centers.

Objective: Trichotillomania is a psychiatric condition characterized by chronic pulling and plucking of one's own hair. Cognitive behavioral therapy shows promise as a treatment. However, there have been no randomized, controlled studies of the efficacy of group cognitive-behavioral therapy. Methods: We evaluated 44 subjects, whom met the criteria for a diagnosis of trichotillomania. Subjects were randomized to receive 22 sessions of either group cognitive-behavioral therapy or group supportive therapy (control).

This pilot study is being conducted in order to help make the case for later, more systematic research on the effectiveness of the Comprehensive Behavioral (COMB) model of treating trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling). The goals are to standardize COMB treatment techniques in the form of a clear written manual for therapists; determine whether therapists can use these guidelines in a consistent manner in making treatment decisions; develop and test the reliability of measures of how well therapists are conducting the treatment; and collect preliminary data on the acceptability of the treatment to patients.

This study tests a computerized cognitive training program designed for young individuals with compulsive hair pulling (also known as trichotillomania;TTM). Research suggests that individuals with TTM are characterized by poor cognitive abilities to suppress irrelevant response. This ability is called response inhibition. The current study tests a cognitive training program designed to improve individuals' cognitive abilities of response inhibition through a 8-session computerized training program. The investigators hypothesize that those who complete the response inhibition training program will show a greater reduction in hair pulling symptoms, compared to those assigned to a waitlist group.
