This is a prospective, cross-sectional observational study designed to evaluate the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ) as a screening tool for sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) risk in a pediatric dental setting. Children aged 8-13 years will be classified as low- or high-risk for SDB based on PSQ scores and compared using physiologic sleep parameters obtained from a wearable, FDA-cleared home sleep monitoring device, alongside psychosocial assessments and craniofacial measurements derived from lateral cephalometric radiographs. Findings will inform the feasibility and accuracy of incorporating validated SDB screening into routine pediatric dental care.

This randomized controlled trial evaluates a family-centered comfort intervention for children hospitalized in a pediatric intensive care unit. The intervention consists of listening to the mother's voice, environmental light regulation, and use of a weighted blanket, delivered in addition to routine nursing care. Outcomes include child comfort, anxiety, fear, and sleep parameters, as well as parental anxiety and satisfaction with care. The study will determine whether the intervention improves child and parent outcomes compared with routine care.

The purpose of this study is to test whether a dietary supplement (low-dose melatonin) commonly used to treat night owls, administered in conjunction with a behavioral sleep intervention, will help to shift the brain clock earlier and improve mood and sleep in bipolar disorder. Eligible participants will be randomized to receive melatonin plus a behavioral sleep intervention or placebo plus a behavioral sleep placebo. The hypotheses for this study include: * Melatonin plus behavioral sleep intervention (compared to placebo plus behavioral sleep placebo) will produce a greater advance of dim light melatonin onset (DLMO), between pre- and post-treatment. * Melatonin (compared to placebo) will produce a greater reduction in Patient Health Questionnaire-9 score between pre- and post-treatment.

The overall goal of this project is to advance a biologically-based approach to treatment of reading disorders after stroke, which will expand the limits of cognitive rehabilitation. Using a novel brain imaging technique, called real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) neurofeedback combined with right hand motor imagery, this project will re-instate brain activity in the left language-dominant hemisphere. Stroke patients will practice modulating their own brain activity using fMRI neurofeedback signal and will select the most effective mental strategies that help them maintain brain activation patterns associated with better reading recovery.

This study aims to evaluate the burden and phenotypic spectrum of periodontal disease in patients with rare kidney disorders (such as Alport syndrome, Fabry disease, and tuberous sclerosis complex) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), compared with chronic kidney disease (CKD) controls and population controls. This is a cross-sectional, case-control observational study. Participants will undergo a single structured evaluation including a full-mouth periodontal examination, a clinical questionnaire, and collection of relevant clinical and nephrological data. The primary objective is to compare the prevalence of periodontitis across study groups. Secondary objectives include characterization of periodontal disease severity, prevalence of gingivitis and xerostomia, and identification of disease-specific oral phenotypes. Exploratory analyses will assess associations between periodontal disease and clinical variables such as kidney function, proteinuria, and immunosuppressive exposure.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common and associated with impaired daytime functioning, reduced quality of life and increased cardiovascular, metabolic and perioperative risk. Mandibular advancement devices (MADs) are a guideline-supported, non-invasive alternative to CPAP for patients with mild to moderate OSA and for those with severe OSA who refuse or cannot tolerate CPAP. MAD therapy relies heavily on patient engagement and sustained use over time. However, in usual care, patients typically have limited access to objective information about their treatment response. Titration is often based on intermittent assessments and subjective symptom reporting, with little real-time feedback to patients on treatment effectiveness. This lack of visibility may limit patient understanding of their condition, reduce engagement with therapy, and delay optimisation of treatment. Advances in nocturnal oximetry now enable multi-night, home-based assessment of oxygen desaturation and related metrics. The myNarval CC solution provides patients, alongside clinicians, with access to objective oximetry data during MAD therapy. By increasing patient awareness of treatment response, this approach has the potential to enhance engagement, support adherence, and improve the overall treatment experience. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether access to oximetry data through the myNarval CC solution improves patient-reported experience measures (PREMs) compared with standard care in patients treated with MADs for OSA.

REM sleep behavior disorder is a parasomnia that reflects the presence of alpha-synucleinopathy in the brain and is highly predictive of eventual phenoconversion to Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, or multiple system atrophy over the course of years to decades. Neuroplastic adaptations in the brain during the prodromal stage of disease are thought to mask the expression of motor and non-motor signs and may substantially delay diagnosis during a potentially critical time window. This study will examine the state and progression (over 30 to 36 months) of neuroplastic changes in the excitability of the motor and prefrontal cortex (using transcranial magnetic stimulation), the structural and functional connectivity of the brain (using highfield, 7T, magnetic resonance imaging), and the relationship of these changes to the expression of motor and neuropsychological signs, in a cohort of individuals with REM sleep behavior disorder and matched controls.

This study will investigate if an intra-nasal nose spray of the drug oxytocin can decrease the amount of pressure needed from the automatic Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device while sleeping decreasing some of the harmful effects of low oxygen in people with sleep apnea. This study will last 35 nights and involves spending three nights in the sleep lab at George Washington University. There are no additional costs to participants and no compensation for being involved in the study.

Bruxism is a repetitive jaw-muscle activity characterized by teeth clenching and/or grinding, often associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction, pain, and impaired jaw function. This cross-sectional comparative study aims to investigate the relationship between jaw functionality, posture, muscle stiffness, pain, perceived stress, and sleep quality in young adults with bruxism. A total of 48 participants will be included: 24 individuals with clinically confirmed bruxism and 24 healthy controls. Clinical and sociodemographic characteristics will be recorded using a Bruxism Assessment Form developed by dentists and physiotherapists. Posture will be assessed with the PostureScreen Mobile® application; pain intensity and thresholds will be measured using a digital algometer; masseter, temporalis, and trapezius muscle stiffness will be evaluated with a MyotonPro device. Perceived stress will be assessed using the Perceived Stress Scale-10, sleep quality with the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and functional jaw limitation with the Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-20. Statistical analysis will be performed using SPSS (Version 20.0). Between-group comparisons will be made using t-tests or Mann-Whitney U tests depending on distribution. Correlation analyses (Pearson or Spearman) will be used to evaluate associations among variables. The primary outcome is to determine the relationship between jaw functionality, posture, muscle stiffness, and pain in individuals with bruxism. Secondary outcomes include the associations of sleep quality and perceived stress with these parameters. This study will provide novel insights into the multidimensional impact of bruxism and may guide future preventive and rehabilitative strategies.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect that melatonin lotion has on sleep quality, the nervous system, and mental health. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the brain that regulates sleep and might improve depression and anxiety symptoms. The goal is to determine whether melatonin in lotion form is an effective treatment for young adults with inadequate sleep and might improve mental health. Participants will fill out surveys, wear an actigraph (a wrist-worn device that measures sleep), wear a heart rate monitor (a strap worn around one's chest), and provide nightly saliva samples during treatment weeks. In one of the two treatment weeks, participants will receive a lotion that contains melatonin. During the other week they will receive a control treatment that will be lotion with no melatonin, and there will be a week in between with no treatment at all.

Sleep-disordered breathing including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is an extremely common medical disorder associated with important morbidity. The purpose of this study is to understand the clinical features and course of patients with sleep apnea in Korea. Participants who are suspected of sleep apnea due to symptoms such as snoring, witnessed apneas, waking up with a choking sensation, excessive sleepiness, non-restorative sleep, difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, fatigue or tiredness, and morning headache will be prospectively recruited at the outpatient clinic of Seoul National University Hospital. After polysomnography (PSG) or respiratory polygraphy, patients with sleep apnea including OSA and central sleep apnea (CSA) will be followed regularly. Participants not having sleep apnea (apnea-hypopnea index \< 5/hour) will only have a baseline visit. For only participants with the informed consent of donating blood, their blood samples will be collected and stored in the Seoul National University Hospital-Human Biobank (SNUH-HUB).

This is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of 4 weeks of study supplement N-acetylcysteine (NAC) versus placebo in persons with significant obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who are receiving positive airway pressure therapy (PAP), the standard of care therapy. The purpose of the study is to determine if NAC is associated with sex-specific changes in overnight oxidative stress, inflammation, as well as endothelial dysfunction in persons with OSA.
