NCT01338818
This study will evaluate the long-term safety of methylphenidate hydrochloride extended release in adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder
NCT00963157
The purpose of this study is to see how the body reacts to different strengths of the H1N1 flu shot when it is given with or without an "adjuvant." An adjuvant is a substance that may cause the body to produce more antibodies when it is given with a vaccine. This study will also compare how age affects the body's response to the H1N1 flu shot. In this study, 3 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested combined with an adjuvant. In addition, 2 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested without adjuvant. Two H1N1 flu shots of the same strength, with or without adjuvant, will be given about 3 weeks apart. Participants will include up to 800 healthy adults, approximately 500 individuals ages 18-64 and 250 individuals greater than or equal to age 65. Study procedures include: physical exam, blood samples, completing a memory aid to record vaccine side effects, medications and daily oral temperature. Participants will be involved in study related procedures for up to 13 months.
NCT01477021
This phase I trial studies the side effects and how well giving autologous T cells with cyclophosphamide works in treating patients with soft tissue sarcoma that is metastatic or cannot be removed by surgery. Biological therapies, such as cellular adoptive immunotherapy, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving autologous T cells together with cyclophosphamide may kill more tumor cells.
NCT01781325
Our objective is to develop an IBEHR (Image-Based Electronic Health Record) to show patients how to reproduce at home the exercises prescribed by their physical therapist (PT) in clinic. The IBEHR can also record home exercise sessions for review by and feedback from the PT. The HEALTH CARE BENEFITS of the IBEHR for patient self monitoring are: improved transfer of physical therapy exercise from clinic to home, increased adherence to the exercise prescription, and recording home exercise to assist PT decision making.
NCT02306668
The investigators seek to characterize the identity of all microorganisms residing on the eye's surface (conjunctiva) in healthy eyes and those with dry eye syndrome, using a combination of analyses. Dry eye disease is thought to have an inflammatory basis and in the vast majority of cases the cause of the chronic inflammatory condition is unknown.
NCT00762125
Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) refers to a set of symptoms that include exhaustion, muscle pain, and tender points, where slight pressure can cause pain. Doctors do not know what causes FMS or how to cure it, but some treatments have helped relieve its symptoms. Progressive exercise, in which exercise is started at low levels and then increased, is one of the most reliable treatments, but people with FMS often avoid exercise or stop after completing exercise programs. This research will focus on the idea that people with FMS do not exercise because they are afraid of injury or have had a negative experience exercising. Participants will undergo one or a combination of several different treatments that aim to reduce fear of exercising. The different treatments will then be evaluated on their effectiveness in reducing disability among people with FMS.
NCT01650805
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of ponatinib and imatinib in patients with newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in the chronic phase.
NCT00378235
IL13-PE38QQR is an oncology drug product consisting of IL13 (interleukin-13) and PE38QQR (a bacteria toxin). IL3-PE38QQR is a protein that exhibits cell killing activity against a variety of IL13-receptor positive tumor cell lines indicating that it may show a therapeutic benefit. In reciprocal competition experiments, the interaction between IL13-PE38QQR and the IL13 receptors was shown to be highly specific for human glioma cells.
NCT00582010
This blinded, placebo-controlled study will administer inhaled nitric oxide to patients undergoing liver transplantation. The purpose of the study is to test if inhaled nitric oxide prevents liver injury associated with the restoration of blood flow. The premise of the current study is provided by previous studies which document a protective effect of inhaled nitric oxide in this clinical setting.
NCT01104584
The purpose of this study is to look at the efficacy (how does it work) and safety of gadobutrol when used for obtaining MR images of both breasts.Women with a recent diagnosis of breast cancer by mammogram (X-ray examination of the breasts) may benefit from MRI of the breasts as MRI may detect additional breast cancers
NCT01703923
The purpose of this study is to determine the antitussive effect size and dose response of FP01 lozenges in subjects with chronic cough and to demonstrate the safety and tolerability of FP01 lozenges in subjects with chronic cough.
NCT01438814
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of the combination therapy of linagliptin and metformin at submaximal doses in reduction of Glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) and metformin pre-specified gastro-intestinal (GI) side effects in treatment naive patients of with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
NCT00847470
The purpose of this study was to document the reasons for placing the first restoration ("filling") on a previously un-restored surface in a permanent ("adult") tooth.
NCT01573286
This protocol outlines a randomized, open label trial examining the safety, pharmacology and efficacy of Glucagon like peptide 2 (GLP-2) in infants and children with intestinal failure. The investigators hypothesize that GLP-2 given subcutaneously in these patients will be well tolerated, and have similar metabolism to what has been shown in adults. The investigators also expect to show an improvement in the tolerance of enteral nutrition, and a decreased requirement for intravenous feeding.
NCT01701934
The purpose of this study is to determine whether roflumilast can improve metabolic profile and reduce visceral adiposity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00665327
This study was to assess the safety of sequential intravenous (IV)/oral (PO) moxifloxacin (Avelox®) compared with sequential IV/PO levofloxacin (Levaquin®) in the treatment of elderly subjects (aged \≥ 65 years) with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) who required initial IV therapy. This study also included an assessment of the clinical and bacteriologic effectiveness of both drugs.
NCT00059462
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of the experimental drug Bay 50-4798 in HIV positive patients receiving HAART and to test the drug's effect on the CD4+ T-cell count.
NCT00791479
This is a study to demonstrate that different doses of once-weekly LY2189265 injected subcutaneously will have dose proportional effect on hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) at 12 weeks in participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
NCT00787995
This multicenter, multinational, longitudinal study will quantify endurance and respiratory function in subjects diagnosed with MPS IVA and will better characterize the spectrum of symptoms and biochemical abnormalities in MPS IVA disease over time.
NCT00427934
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether maraviroc, an investigational drug given with methotrexate (MTX) is safe and effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in adult patients.
