NCT00304031
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving radiation therapy together with temozolomide may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which schedule of temozolomide when given together with radiation therapy is more effective in treating glioblastoma or gliosarcoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying two different schedules of temozolomide to compare how well they work when given together with radiation therapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma or gliosarcoma.
NCT04444232
This trial examines cancer communication within Hispanic social networks. Hispanics have the lowest colorectal cancer screening rate of any major ethnic group and health interventions are crucially needed among Hispanics. Patient decision aids are health communication interventions designed to provide patients with targeted health information and have shown to improve colorectal cancer screening rates among Hispanics. The goal of this study is to investigate, in a sample of Hispanics, how a colorectal cancer decision aid aimed at increasing individuals' colorectal cancer screening behavior has effects on their alters' intention to get screened for colorectal cancer.
NCT01993186
The primary objectives of the study are to evaluate the efficacy of UX007 compared to placebo as measured by the reduction from randomization to Week 8 in frequency of seizures and to evaluate the safety of UX007 via adverse event (AE) rates, laboratory values, and electrocardiogram (ECG).
NCT01172938
The purpose of this study is to determine whether apremilast is safe and effective in the treatment of patients with psoriatic arthritis, specifically in improving signs and symptoms of psoriatic arthritis (tender and swollen joints, pain, physical function) in treated patients.
NCT02513550
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of ixekizumab dosing regimens in participants with plaque psoriasis.
NCT03326752
This open-label, multicenter, dose-escalation and expansion trial is designed to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of inhaled DV281 in combination with nivolumabfor the treatment of NSCLC and to select a recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D).
NCT03088956
The objectives of the study are to; (1) estimate the change in disease -related cognitive decline over 1 year on a battery of cognitive tests administered to participants with early-stage symptomatic Behavioral Variant Frontotemporal Dementia (bvFTD) phenotypic variant; (2) identify the cognitive test or brief battery of cognitive tests which are the most sensitive to detect bvFTD progression; (3) determine the optimal schedule of administration of cognitive tests to detect bvFTD progression; (4) evaluate the relationship between cognitive tests and measures of behavior, function, caregiver's burden, quality of life (QOL); and (5) obtain blood samples for genetic and exploratory biomarkers correlations.
NCT02415400
The purpose of this study is to determine if Apixaban is safer than a Vitamin K Antagonist given for 6 months in terms of bleeding in patients with an irregular heart beat (atrial fibrillation) and a recent heart attack or a recent procedure to open up a blood vessel in the heart. All patients would also be taking a class of medicines called P2Y12 inhibitors (such as clopidogrel/Plavix) and be treated for up to 6 months. The primary focus will be a comparison of the bleeding risk of Apixaban, with or without aspirin, versus a Vitamin K antagonist, such as warfarin, with or without aspirin.
NCT03864328
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a rare, progressive life-threatening disease that is characterized by exertional dyspnea and persistent dry cough. Cough in IPF is both a presenting and a complicating clinical feature, which affects approximately three quarters of IPF cases. It is often a debilitating symptom that adversely affects quality of life (QoL) and is usually refractory to medical therapy. Inhaled RVT-1601 (formerly, PA101B), a new inhalation formulation of cromolyn sodium delivered via the eFlow® Closed System (CS) nebulizer, is being evaluated in this Phase 2b study for the treatment of persistent cough in patients with IPF.
NCT02277769
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study to confirm the efficacy and safety of Dupilumab monotherapy in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD).
NCT02696798
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ixekizumab in tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor-experienced participants with radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (rad-axSpA).
NCT02441946
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the biological effects of abemaciclib in combination with anastrozole and compare those to the effects of abemaciclib alone and anastrozole alone in the tumors of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer.
NCT00824265
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ofatumumab added to fludarabine-cyclophosphamide in patients with relapsed Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).
NCT03774784
The purpose of this study is to characterize the natural history of leukocyte chemotactic factor 2 amyloidotic (ALECT2) disease. In this observational study participants with ALECT2 disease will be enrolled. Participants, who have already reached end-stage renal disease (ESRD), will provide retrospective chart review data and biological specimens at baseline only. Other participants, in addition to retrospective chart review, will be followed prospectively.
NCT02155777
Use of oral contraceptives (OCs) reduces a woman's risk of ovarian cancer very significantly and the protective effect continues for at least 25 years after use of OCs is stopped; the mechanisms of how this occurs are not understood. We are proposing here to directly study the effect of OCs on the fallopian tube and inclusion cysts within the ovary - sites from which most ovarian cancers are thought to arise - in order to better understand the mechanistic basis for OC protection against ovarian cancer. We think the protection results from reduced cell proliferation. It will lay the foundation for further studies to ensure that the protection against ovarian cancer afforded by 'traditional' OCs is not lost with alterations in OC formulation, and, if possible, to guide development of OC formations to improve further on the protection afforded by OCs.
NCT01315678
A major factor in the respiratory health of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) participants is the prevalence of chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) infections. The Pa infection rate in CF patients increases with age and by age 18 years approximately 85% of CF patients in the US are infected. Liposomal amikacin for inhalation (Arikayce™) was developed as a possible treatment for chronic infection due to Pa in CF patients. The purpose of this study is to determine whether Arikayce™ is effective in treating chronic lung infections caused by Pa in CF participants. The effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of Arikayce™ will be compared to Tobramycin TOBI®, an inhalation antibiotic already available for use.
NCT03166735
The primary objective of this study is the proof of mechanism and support of dose finding, together with the safety evaluation in patients with clinical evidence of NASH. To gain further insight into clinical effects of AOC3 inhibition on NASH further exploratory analyses of biomarkers related to NASH and liver fibrosis will be performed. This will include the effect of BI 1467335 on reduction of secondary biomarker endpoints (ALT, AST, AP, γ-GT and CK18 fragments). Safety will be assessed throughout the study to provide key information regarding the use of BI 1467335 in patients with NASH.
