NCT01730235
The last mile of the medication use system requires tools to help patients comply with medication administration rules and monitor for side effects. Personal health records (PHR) and emerging user-adopted communication tools promise to change the landscape of medication management. The overarching goal of the MyMediHealth project is to investigate ways in which PHRs and supported applications can improve the safety and quality of medication delivery. Preliminary work in this area by a team of parents, patients and school/clinic health providers created a vision for MyMediHealth, a next-generation medication management system. MyMediHealth was envisioned to allow home-based, school-based, and other caregivers to ensure safe and effective medication delivery. This vision featured just-in-time medication reminders to children with special health care needs, two-way communication to log when doses have been administered or when side effects have occurred, and mechanisms to warn caregivers about side effects and drug interactions. However, much of this work was done using prototypes, storyboards, and vision videos. Recognizing that this vision cannot be carried out without significant changes in processes and policies, the purpose of this proposed study is to evaluate the impact of medication management tools such as MyMediHealth on medication adherence for children with chronic illnesses. Specifically, the investigators hypothesize that compared with usual practice, children using mymedihealth will have improved medication adherence and will report improved (decreased) asthma symptoms.
NCT00542685
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of PD 0332334 for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder.
NCT00725101
The Real World Examination of Fibromyalgia: Longitudinal Evaluation of Costs and Treatments (REFLECTIONS) Study is a 12-month, prospective observational study that will be utilized in approximately 58 care settings in the United States (US) and Puerto Rico. It is designed to examine treatment patterns and health outcomes of adult participants diagnosed by their physician with fibromyalgia (FM) and who are starting any "new pharmacologic agent" for FM. The primary benefit of this study is enhanced understanding of the disease state of FM and the role that pharmacologic treatment plays, which may help to optimize management of FM. This study will address current gaps in a rapidly growing body of literature on FM.
NCT00280072
* The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the RAD to determine whether the RAD is effective in reducing mortality in patients with Acute Renal Failure due to Acute Tubule Necrosis and to evaluate the safety of the RAD * If the RAD works normally when used for as long as 72 hours * If the RAD will provide added benefits to normal CVVH therapy for patients with Acute Renal Failure
NCT00892957
The purpose of this study was to compare safety and efficacy of FS VH S/D 500 s-apr (FS) versus manual compression in prosthetic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) graft placement.
NCT00671879
The purpose of this study is to determine if two sustained released formulations of carisoprodol are more effective than placebo.
NCT00671567
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of Ramelteon, once daily (QD), in adult subjects with chronic insomnia.
NCT00955799
The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of neramexane mesylate in the treatment of subjective tinnitus in comparison to placebo.
NCT01050582
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of risperidone compared with other atypical antipsychotic drugs on the physical maturity, growth and development of children, and the risk of prolactin-related adverse events (side effects) associated to these drugs.
NCT00734435

NCT01177670
The Adiana Post-Approval Clinical Study (APACS) has been designed to compile information on the efficacy and safety of the Adiana Permanent Contraception System in the post market setting. Specifically, data will be collected that is relevant to the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of the Adiana System for women who desire permanent birth control by occlusion of the fallopian tubes. This study is an observational study that is not intended to test specific hypotheses.
NCT00099359
Giving anti-HIV medications to babies born of HIV positive mothers right after birth can lower the babies' risk of contracting HIV. This study will assess the safety and efficacy of two different combinations of anti-HIV medications compared to a one drug standard regimen in preventing mother to baby transmission. The one drug standard treatment and two combinations to be studied are: 1) zidovudine, 2) zidovudine/nevirapine and 3) zidovudine/lamivudine/nelfinavir.

NCT01582282
A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multi-dose clinical study consisting of 2 phases; 1) an 8-week lead-in period during which patients followed a diet judged to be within the acceptable guidelines of the ADA, and 2) a 12-week treatment period, at the beginning of which, Subjects are randomly assigned to 1 of the 3 treatment groups: placebo, 3.4 g psyllium BID for a total of 6.8 g/day (10.4g Metamucil) or 6.8g psyllium BID for a total of 13.6 g/day (20.8g Metamucil). For 12 weeks, Subjects took Metamucil or the fiber-free placebo BID, just prior to breakfast and dinner. Patients visited the clinic 10 times during the 20-week period at Screening, Weeks -8, -6, -4, 0, Day 3, and Weeks 2, 4, 8 and 12, fasting at least 12 hours prior to each visit where a blood sample was taken (all visits except Week -6 and Day 3) for analysis of fasting serum glucose and lipid levels, and HbA1c. Clinical chemistry, hematology and urinalysis were done at Weeks -8, 0 and 12. The completed 7-day food diaries were reviewed by the study dietician at each visit and discussed with the patient to ensure compliance with the recommended diet and the patients' body weights were recorded
