NCT00115505
This research trial studies quality of life, employment, and informal care cost analysis in patients with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy. This trial assesses how quality of life has been affected by cancer, if cancer and its treatment have caused in changes in the patient's or their spouse's employment and how they have affected the patient and their extended family, and the impact of peripheral neuropathy caused by chemotherapy on quality of life. Learning about quality of life and informal care costs may help doctors better understand how patients feel during treatment, what effects the medicines are having, and in the future may help both patients and doctors as they decide which medicines to use to treat cancer.
NCT01922843
The goal of this study is to test a new vitamin D compound for its ability to reduce parathyroid hormone levels in patients who are on hemodialysis.
NCT00099203
This 2 arm study will compare the efficacy of intravenous Bondronat with that of zoledronic acid in patients with malignant bone disease experiencing moderate to severe pain. Patients will be randomized to receive either Bondronat (6mg iv on days 1, 2 and 3 and then every 3-4 weeks) or zoledronic acid (4mg iv on day 1 and then every 3-4 weeks). The anticipated time of study treatment is 6-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT01001299
This open-label single-arm study will evaluate the effect of RO5185426 \[RG7204; PLEXXIKON: PLX4032\] on the pharmacokinetics of five CYP450 substrates (caffeine, warfarin + vitamin K, omeprazole, dextromethorphan, midazolam) administered as a drug cocktail to patients with metastatic melanoma. The study will also evaluate efficacy and safety of RO5185426. On day 1, patients will receive the drug cocktail. On days 6 to 19, patients will receive RO5185426 twice daily. On day 20, patients will receive RO5185426 and the drug cocktail and on days 21 to 25, patients will receive RO5185426. Assessments will be made at regular intervals during the dosing periods and at follow-up. Patients may continue on study treatment (RO5185426) until the development of progressive disease or unacceptable toxicity. Target sample size \<50.
NCT00828139
This randomized phase II trial is studying topotecan to see how well it works when given with or without aflibercept in treating patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as topotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Combinations of biological substances in aflibercept may be able to carry tumor-killing substances directly to small cell lung cancer cells. Aflibercept may also stop the growth of small cell lung cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether topotecan is more effective with or without aflibercept in treating patients with small cell lung cancer.
NCT01039987
The Division of Kidney Urology and Hematology Disease (DKUHD) of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) funded a cooperative agreement (UO1) for a consortium of participating clinical centers (PCCs) and a data coordinating and imaging analysis center (DCIAC) to develop and implement studies to test whether imaging techniques can provide accurate and reproducible markers of progression of renal disease in patients with polycystic kidney disease. The awarded participating clinical centers are Emory University, University of Kansas, and Mayo Foundation (with a subcontract to the University of Alabama). The awarded DCIAC is Washington University in St. Louis. Due to the relocation of the DCIAC P.I. from Washington University to the University of Pittsburgh, the DCIAC for CRISP II is located at the University of Pittsburgh.
NCT02759692
Adaptive, randomized, subject-masked, dispensing study to evaluate the short-term, clinical performance of two FDA-approved contact lens.
NCT01466179
The purpose of this study is to confirm whether the bispecific T cell engager antibody blinatumomab (MT103) is effective and safe in the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
NCT01606579
PRI-724 is a new investigational drug being studied to treat subjects with cancer who have advanced myeloid malignancies. PRI-724 is thought to work by blocking the Wnt signaling pathway that cancer cells need to grow and spread (metastasize).
NCT02157948
This study will compare the effect of denosumab produced by two different manufacturing processes on bone mineral density at the lumbar spine in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
NCT02142504
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of the norovirus bivalent virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine for further development by assessing the rates of serious adverse events (SAEs), unsolicited adverse events (AEs), solicited local and solicited systemic AEs, Adverse Events of Special Interest (AESIs) and AEs leading to participant's withdrawal from the trial.
NCT00054613
The purpose of this study is to determine whether extracorporeal photoimmune therapy with UVADEX (ECP) added to standard therapy is effective in the treatment of chronic graft-versus-host disease (GvHD).
NCT00099177
This 2 arm study will compare the efficacy of a regimen of intravenous (iv) and oral Bondronat with that of zoledronic acid in patients with malignant bone disease experiencing moderate to severe pain. Patients will be randomized to receive either Bondronat (6mg iv on days 1, 2 and 3 followed by Bondronat 5Omg po daily from day 22 to week 24) or zoledronic acid (4mg iv on day 1, and then every 3-4 weeks). The anticipated time of study treatment is 6-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT02477579
This study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of the a novel device called NovaCross to help cross Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) lesions in coronary arteries.
NCT02251600
Study to characterize the single-state and steady-state dosing of oral deflazacort in pediatric and adolescents subjects.
NCT01265511
This study will examine the effectiveness of 28 days of triple combination therapy including SCY-635 with peginterferon alfa 2a and ribavirin in reducing serum HCV RNA levels. An additional 20 weeks of treatment with the currently approved standard of care will be offered to all participants. The Week 24 visit will be the last on-study visit. After the Week 24 visit, all subjects with undetectable HCV RNA will be given the option to continue treatment with standard of care for an additional 24 weeks (out to Week 48) under the care of their Principal Investigator.

NCT01764477
Laboratory studies suggest that the study drug may stop cancer cells from growing by affecting an interaction between proteins in the cells referred to as cAMP-response element-binding protein and ß-catenin. The purpose of this research study is to determine the highest safe dose of study drug that may be used when it is given together with a chemotherapy drug to patients with cancer of the pancreas.
