NCT02872493
The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not the total length of small intestine effects outcomes after bariatric surgery in a cohort of patients preoperatively and up to ten years postoperatively. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and vertical sleeve gastrectomy will be the surgical groups in this study. We aim to determine if bowel length has a significant effect on long term weight loss or other nutritional deficiencies in this bariatric cohort.
NCT01757535
This study enrolled 472 participants, aged 55 or older, with a diagnosis of de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or AML secondary to prior myelodysplastic disease or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), and who have achieved first complete remission (CR)/ complete remission with incomplete blood count recovery (CRi) following induction with or without consolidation chemotherapy. The study is amended to include an extension phase (EP). The EP allows participants who are currently receiving oral azacitidine and who are demonstrating clinical benefit as assessed by the investigator, to continue receiving oral azacitidine after unblinding by sponsor until the participant meets the criteria for study discontinuation or until oral azacitidine becomes commercially available and reimbursed. In addition, all participants in the placebo arm and participants who had been discontinued from the treatment phase (irrespective of randomization arm) and continuing in the follow-up phase will be followed for survival in the EP.
NCT01776840
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ibrutinib given in combination with bendamustine and rituximab in patients 65 years of age or older with newly diagnosed mantle cell lymphoma.
NCT05812755
The goal of this mechanistic clinical trial is to learn about the effects of medications called soluble guanylyl cyclase stimulators on vascular function and markers of kidney and brain injury in patients having heart surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does soluble guanylyl cyclase stimulation improve blood vessel function compared to placebo? 2. Does soluble guanylyl cyclase stimulation decrease markers of kidney injury and brain injury compared to placebo? Participants will be randomized to a soluble guanylyl cyclase stimulator called vericiguat or placebo, and researchers will compare vascular function and markers of brain and kidney injury to see if vericiguat improves vascular function and reduces markers of injury. This will provide important information to determine the underlying reasons that patients have some kidney and brain function problems after having heart surgery.
NCT04547712
The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of adaptive DBS (aDBS) for Parkinson's disease.
NCT00624234
The goal of this trial is to determine if children with neurofibromatosis type 1 who have reading disabilities respond the same way-both behaviorally and neurobiologically-to specialized treatment programs as children with idiopathic reading disabilities do, and to determine which intervention is best for particular learner profiles.
NCT02922036
This study is a prospective, multi-center, pivotal trial to study the safety and efficacy of the WiSE-CRT System for Cardiac Re-synchronization Therapy.
NCT05259033
This study will compare the new medicine IcoSema, which is a combination of insulin icodec and semaglutide, taken once a week, to semaglutide taken once a week in people with type 2 diabetes. The study will look at how well IcoSema controls blood sugar level in people with type 2 diabetes compared to semaglutide. Participants will either get IcoSema or semaglutide. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. IcoSema is a new medicine that doctors cannot prescribe. Doctors can already prescribe semaglutide in many countries. Participants will get IcoSema or semaglutide, which they must inject once a week with a pen, which has a small needle, in a skin fold in the thigh, upper arm, or stomach. The study will last for about 1 year and 1 month. Participants will have 18 clinic visits, 34 phone/video calls with the study doctor, and 4 contacts with the site that can either be clinic visits or phone/video calls. At 11 clinic visits participants will have blood samples taken. At 7 clinic visits participants cannot eat or drink (except for water) for 8 hours before the visit. Women cannot take part if pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to get pregnant during the study period.
NCT06150924
This is a randomized, double-blind (DB), placebo controlled, crossover study with a two-period, two-sequence (2x2) design evaluating the efficacy and safety of 25 mg QD lorundrostat (an aldosterone synthase inhibitor \[ASI\]) in addition to a SGLT2i for the treatment of hypertension in subjects with CKD and albuminuria while receiving stable treatment with an Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) or an Angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). Subjects will be at least 18 years old with hypertension, and mild to severe CKD with albuminuria at the Screening Visit.
NCT06971939
The purpose of this global, multicenter, open-label, Phase 4 clinical extension study is to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of revakinagene taroretcel-lwey (Encelto™; hereinafter referred to as NT-501), in participants with macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel) who previously received the intraocular implant in a Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 clinical study. In addition, this study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of NT501 in participants who previously underwent the sham procedure in a Phase 3 MacTel clinical study and elect to have NT-501 implanted intraocularly in this Phase 4 study.
NCT04999020
This is a Phase 2/3, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity of ravulizumab in adult participants with dermatomyositis (DM).
NCT02675452

NCT04136366
The GUARD Trial is a multi-center, randomized, controlled, adaptive Phase 3 clinical trial of repeated intravitreal injections of ADX-2191 versus standard-of-care for the prevention of proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
NCT03347253
The purpose of the study is to evaluate changes in key clinical outcome measures (eg, motor, respiratory, fatigue) in adult subjects with late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD) subjects receiving standard-of-care enzyme replacement therapy (ERT). Additionally, information gained may be used in the design and conduct of future studies in LOPD subjects.
NCT04460937
This phase I trial investigates the side effects and best dose of adavosertib and how well it works when given in combination with radiation therapy in treating patients with esophageal or gastroesophageal junction cancer for which no treatment is currently available (incurable). Adavosertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving adavosertib together with radiation therapy kill more tumor cells than radiation therapy alone in treating patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal junction cancer.
NCT04987775
This mechanistic study will test if NAC affects chronic oxidative stress and depletion of antioxidants in GWI participants. Blood specimen collection and neuroimaging will be used to determine whether NAC affects serum glutathione (GSH) concentration and oxidative stress in the CNS when compared to placebo.
NCT04402957
To evaluate the proportion of subjects alive and free of respiratory failure (e.g. need for non-invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation, high flow oxygen, or ECMO) and free of the need for continued renal replacement therapy (RRT) on Day 28. The need for continued RRT at Day 28 will be defined as either dialysis in the past 3 days (Day 26, 27, or 28) or an eGFR on Day 28 \<10 mL/min/1.73 m2.
