NCT00055120
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of starting anti-HIV drugs in HIV infected patients who are being treated for opportunistic infections (OIs). This study will follow two patient groups: those who received anti-HIV drugs soon after being diagnosed with an OI and patients with OIs who deferred beginning anti-HIV drugs until after recovering from the OI.

NCT01279044
The purpose of this study is to determine if persons randomized to receive adapted Personalized Cognitive Risk-reduction Counseling (PCC) will report greater reductions in unprotected anal sex behavior compared with persons who do not receive Personalized Cognitive Risk-reduction Counseling (PCC).
NCT01243060
In recent years, there has been increased focus on cognitive side effects of sleep-inducing medications that may contribute to unusual behavior during unexpected awakenings during the night. Concerns regarding these side effects have led to a class Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warning for all sleep-inducing medications. Almorexant is an experimental sleep-inducing medication in a new class of medications that is being extensively developed by multiple pharmaceutical companies. Medications in this class block wake/arousal centers in the brain that function with proteins called hypocretins. The goal of this study is to evaluate the impact on cognitive performance of almorexant vs. zolpidem (an approved sleep aid) or placebo.
NCT01140022
The purpose of this study is to conduct a quality improvement intervention to improve the ability of health care providers to deliver an important preventive health service (CT screening) in order to meet the goal of universal CT screening for young women age 25 or younger as recommended by the CDC and virtually all major health organizations. This novel approach utilizes a bilingual (English-Spanish) computer kiosk module to deliver education about CT and allow patients to request a CT screening test. This module should significantly increase CT screening among at risk women (18-25yo) attending urgent care clinics and emergency departments.
NCT00109928
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, etoposide, gemcitabine, and methylprednisolone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II, stage III, or stage IV T-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT02091596
This will be a randomized, double-blind (evaluator-blind), vehicle-controlled study of 50 enrolled subjects. Adult subjects (greater than 18 years old) who present with a mildly infected diabetic foot ulcer (IDSA criteria) having full thickness (i.e., through the dermis but not involving joint capsule, tendon, and bone). Subjects must also provide informed consent and meet all other entry criteria to be enrolled and randomly assigned to receive PluroGel N or PluroGel vehicle.
NCT00700622
The objective of this study is to demonstrate that TI® Inhalation Powder combined with Lantus® is as effective as Humalog® combined with Lantus® on HbA1c.
NCT00097708
The purpose of this study is to determine whether an experimental anti-anxiety medication is effective in the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
NCT00977314
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of using bone conduction via the teeth to treat Single-Sided Deafness (SSD).
NCT01430754
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the maintenance effect and safety of 20 mg tasimelteon versus placebo in subjects suffering from Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder.
NCT00206583
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the study drug is safe and effective in the prevention of pregnancies in a large group of volunteers.
NCT01020305
This study evaluates if temsirolimus causes a reduction in the serum levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in male subjects with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).
NCT00082095
The main purpose of this study is to compare treatment with either pegylated liposomal doxorubicin or capecitabine as first line chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer in women 60 years and older.
NCT00309244
The purpose of this 13 month study (12 month treatment period and 1 month follow-up period) is to determine whether inhaled insulin is safe and effective in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
NCT01246960
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ramucirumab when used in conjunction with chemotherapy treatment can help participants with stomach, esophagus, and gastroesophageal cancer.
NCT00953095
The goal of this project is to test an intervention program for caregivers and their young children with autism that is focused on improving social communication. This study specifically targets underserved populations, specifically children from low SES and racial/ethnic minority families. Participants will include 40 children (aged 24 months to 60 months) and their caregivers who will be randomized (as if by flipping a coin) to one of the two treatments: Parent education sessions for two hours a week for 12 weeks or parent-child intervention sessions with the child for one hour, twice a week for 12 weeks. Young children with autism have difficulty with engaging in joint attention with others (e.g. pointing, showing. Joint attention skills are important to later development of language. Therefore, targeting this problem in young children may result in better language outcomes for these children. In order to examine the effects of the interventions, all participants will be complete cognitive, language, communication and play-based assessments prior to treatment, at the end of the first 12 weeks of the intervention, and post-treatment immediately following the intervention (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours each).
NCT01196052
This single-arm open-label study assessed the safety, feasibility, and efficacy of trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) after the completion of anthracycline-based adjuvant/neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with early HER2-positive breast cancer. Patients received T-DM1 3.6 mg/kg intravenously on Day 1 of each 3-week cycle, for up to 17 cycles.
NCT01567163
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of concomitant ramucirumab on the pharmacokinetics of docetaxel in participants with advanced malignant solid tumors. Participants who do not complete both Cycle 1, Day 1, and Cycle 2, Day 1 according to schedule will be replaced for the purpose of analysis; these participants may continue to receive study therapy. No dose reductions, delayed or missed doses are allowed during Cycles 1 and 2.
NCT00700180
This study will explore the correlation of biomarkers with response rate, and the overall efficacy and safety, of Avastin in combination with carboplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. Patients will be randomized to one of 2 groups, to receive either Avastin 7.5mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle, or Avastin 15mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle; all patients will also receive treatment with carboplatin and either gemcitabine or paclitaxel for a maximum of 6 cycles. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
