This 2-arm study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2 treatment regimens of Xeloda and Avastin, with either irinotecan or oxaliplatin administered for the first 12 cycles, as first line treatment in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. Patients were randomized to receive 2-weekly cycles of treatment with either: 1) Xeloda, Avastin and oxaliplatin; or 2) Xeloda, Avastin and irinotecan. After 9 cycles, patients continued to receive maintenance treatment with Xeloda + Avastin. The anticipated time on study treatment was until disease progression, and the target sample size was 100-500 individuals.

This is a prospective, 3-year observational study to describe drug utilization in uninfected individuals (UIs) who initiate emtricitabine (FTC)/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) (Truvada®) for a pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) indication. An electronic source of pharmacy/medical encounter information will be used to assess the demographics and other characteristics of the subjects prescribed FTC/TDF or its components in a prospective fashion. The data provider will supply all the de-identified information regarding each visit/interaction that the subject has had with the health system and all the diagnoses and medications that the UI has had prospectively and retrospectively for the length of time captured by the source selected. 200 physicians who prescribe FTC/TDF for a PrEP indication will be sampled from the same source.

This study is a global multicenter randomized factorial double-blind, placebo-controlled trial designed to evaluate (i) efficacy and safety of nitazoxanide 600 mg administered orally twice daily for five days compared to a placebo in the treatment of acute uncomplicated influenza and (ii) efficacy and safety of combination therapy with nitazoxanide 600 mg plus Oseltamivir 75 mg co-administered orally twice daily for five days compared to nitazoxanide monotherapy (600 mg b.i.d. for 5 days) and Oseltamivir monotherapy (75 mg b.i.d. for 5 days) in the treatment of acute uncomplicated influenza.

This clinical trial studies gallium-68 (68Ga)-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) (gallium Ga 68-labeled PSMA ligand Glu-urea-Lys\[Ahx\]) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) or PET/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in identifying prostate cancer that may have returned after a period of improvement (biochemical recurrence). 68Ga-PSMA is a radiopharmaceutical that localizes to a specific prostate cancer receptor, which can then be imaged by the PET/CT or PET/MRI scanner.

This 2 arm study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of a single intravenous injection of Kytril in preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in children. Patients will be randomized to receive a single dose of either 20 micrograms or 40 micrograms Kytril intravenously (iv) 15 minutes prior to the end of surgery with general anesthesia for tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy. The anticipated time on study treatment is \<3 months, and the planned sample size was 170 patients.

The purpose of this research study is to determine if a new investigational diabetes drug is safe and effective in treating people who have Type II diabetes mellitus with very high HbA1c or FPG (fasting plasma glucose) levels. The HbA1c test, also called the hemoglobin A1c test or glycated hemoglobin test, is a measurement of the average amount of sugar in the blood over the last 2 to 3 months. FPG is a test that measures the amount of sugar in the blood after an 8 hour fast.
