NCT02839343
This randomized phase II trial studies how well combination chemotherapy (mFOLFIRINOX) with or without hypofractionated radiation therapy before surgery works in patients with pancreatic cancer that can be removed by surgery. Drugs used in combination chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, fluorouracil, and irinotecan hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Hypofractionated radiation therapy delivers higher doses of radiation therapy over a shorter period of time and may kill more tumor cells and have fewer side effects. It is not yet known if combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without hypofractionated radiation therapy before surgery in treating patients with pancreatic cancer.
NCT00003857
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Estrogen can stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy using tamoxifen may fight breast cancer by blocking the uptake of estrogen by the tumor cells. It is not yet known if radiation therapy is more effective than observation, with or without tamoxifen, in treating ductal carcinoma in situ. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of radiation therapy with that of observation, with or without tamoxifen, in treating women who have ductal carcinoma in situ.
NCT04460781
Primary Objective: To evaluate the safety of Flublok Quadrivalent influenza vaccine in pregnant women included in the VAP00003 Study (NCT03694392) and their offspring exposed during pregnancy or up to 28 days preceding the estimated date of conception with regards to pregnancy, birth, and neonatal/infant outcomes Secondary Objective:
NCT04988568
Patients starting dialysis have significant and often daunting changes to their lifestyle, and investigators have only little information from the patient perspective on patient experiences during dialysis initiation. To explore patient perspectives when starting dialysis, this study aims to collect information on patient perspectives.
NCT04524221
The goal of this study is to learn whether or not the drug PTG-100 can reduce or prevent inflammatory injury to the small intestine that occurs when people with celiac disease eat food products containing gluten. This is a clinical research study to determine the safety and efficacy of PTG-100 in preventing gluten-induced inflammatory injury to the small intestine in patients with celiac disease. 30 patients will receive either placebo (fake drug) or PTG-100 (real drug) in capsule form twice daily for 42 days. They will also receive a gluten challenge twice daily in the form of a cookie or equivalent. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and exam including small bowel mucosa biopsy will be performed at the start of the treatment period and again at the end. Blood samples will be routinely taken to evaluate safety and the drug's mechanism of action throughout the study, and symptoms will be recorded using the celiac symptoms index (CSI) survey.
NCT02422160
The investigators have developed an image analysis method that can predict the likelihood that a patient with age related macular degeneration (AMD) will progress within 1 year, based on computerized analysis of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images that are routinely acquired in clinical practice on each patient visit to the ophthalmologist. The investigators' goal is to evaluate whether this method will improve the ability to detect AMD earlier and improve visual outcomes in AMD patients by assigning patient risk categories and having patients come back for follow up based on those categories.
NCT00478465
The purpose of this study determine whether the drug valganciclovir has a significant and real benefit on the central core of symptoms experienced by patients who have high titers to EBV and HHV-6 and are experiencing long-standing fatigue and cognitive impairment (CFS). In addition, to characterize a quantifiable biological marker in these patients that will facilitate the identification of those likely to respond to valganciclovir and will make it possible to assess response to treatment.
NCT00417664
The purpose of this chart review study is to determine whether the use of dexmedetomidine, a selective α2-adrenergic receptor agonist with sedative, analgesic, and antinociceptive properties, would be associated with a lower incidence of delirium when compared to propofol and midazolam. We hypothesize that sedation with dexmedetomidine following cardiac surgery with CPB will be associated with a lower incidence of postoperative delirium.
NCT02999854
The primary objective of this study is to compare safety and efficacy of a haploidentical T-cell depleted HSCT and adjunctive treatment with ATIR101 versus a haploidentical T cell replete HSCT with post-transplant administration of high dose cyclophosphamide (PTCy) in patients with a hematologic malignancy. An additional objective of the study is to compare the effect of the two treatments on quality of life.
NCT03068715
This study evaluates an accelerated schedule of theta-burst stimulation using a transcranial magnetic stimulation device for treatment-resistant depression. In a double-blind fashion, half the participants will receive accelerated theta-burst stimulation while half will receive sham treatment.
NCT03793608
The primary objective of the study is to assess the tolerability of peanut protein in pediatric patients (6-17 years old) treated with dupilumab monotherapy, in which tolerability is defined as the proportion of patients who safely pass a double-blind placebo-controlled food challenge (DBPCFC) at week 24. The secondary objectives are: * To determine whether dupilumab treatment improves peanut tolerability, defined as a change in the cumulative tolerated dose (log transformed) of peanut protein during a DBPCFC * To evaluate the safety and tolerability of dupilumab treatment in peanut allergic patients * To evaluate the effects of dupilumab treatment on the levels of peanut-specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) * To evaluate the treatment effect of dupilumab on the average wheal size after a titrated skin prick test (SPT), as measured by area under curve (AUC) of the average wheal size induced by peanut extract at different concentrations * To assess the incidence of treatment-emergent anti-drug antibodies (ADA) to dupilumab in patients over time
NCT03444753
The purpose of this study is to determine whether BMS-986299 both by itself and in combination with Nivolumab and Ipilimumab is safe and tolerable in the treatment of advanced solid tumors. In addition, the ability of study drugs to stimulate an immune response against cancer will be investigated.
NCT02593071
This study will enroll subjects who received the RSV F vaccine or placebo in the earlier study (RSV-E-201, Year 1) and re-randomize them to receive either vaccine or placebo in a second season. This design will permit evaluation of the safety and immunogenicity of revaccination in a second RSV season, and the safety and immunogenicity of revaccination over two years.
NCT04112095
This study is designed to assess whether consumers select and use norgestrel 0.075 mg, a progestin only pill for contraception, in a manner consistent with the OTC package directions in an Over-the-Counter (OTC)-like setting.
NCT02647359
This study is designed to evaluate the effect of ataluren on Maximum Reading Speed as measured using the Minnesota Low Vision Reading Test (MNREAD) Acuity Charts in participants with nonsense mutation aniridia.
