NCT01000727
This study will test whether darapladib can safely lower the chances of having a cardiovascular event (such as a heart attack or urgent coronary revascularization (e.g. medical procedures performed to restore the normal blood flow in patients with atherosclerosis)) when treatment is started within 30 days after an acute coronary syndrome (also called ACS).
NCT00551564
Insulin resistance (IR) is common in many metabolic disorders and predisposes an individual to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), the Metabolic Syndrome and coronary atherosclerosis. Non-diabetics with IR are at risk, but can be difficult to diagnose. A major problem with the use of IR as a predictor or marker of disease is the lack of a simple, robust test that can be used to quantify this parameter in a wide variety of clinical situations. The current 'gold standard' methods for measuring insulin sensitivity, such as the hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic (H-E) clamp, are complex, time consuming and costly. Alternative, simpler methods, such as the Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA-IR) score, may be less accurate and are not widely accepted.
NCT02604680
The objective of the study is to compare the safety and efficacy of multiple formulations of BLI1100 to a control group and placebo in treating patients with moderate-severe acne vulgaris.
NCT01289717
There is a need to develop blood and/or urine tests that will help to detect early signs of rejection in people who have had kidney transplant. Researchers will examine blood, urine, and tissue samples and try to identify genetic markers for certain conditions like rejection, response to therapy, and scarring of the kidney. By studying gene patterns, researchers hope to be able to diagnose these conditions earlier and improve kidney survival.
NCT01674361
This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of bitopertin in combination with SSRI in participants with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Participants will be randomized to receive either bitopertin 30 milligrams (mg) or bitopertin 10 mg or placebo orally daily in addition to their background therapy with an SSRI. Participants will be allocated to one of two strata. Participants in Stratum 1 will start study drug on Day 1. Participants in Stratum 2 will receive placebo from Day 1 (placebo lead-in) and will then start study drug at the Week 2 visit. Participants in both strata will receive the study drug in addition to their background therapy with an SSRI until Week 16.
NCT00764530
Evaluate the safety and efficacy of the CeramTec Acetabular Alumina Insert and CeramTec Alumina head when used with the Foundation Porous Coated Acetabular Shell and an Encore hip stem.
NCT01730469
This study will assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) study of a single dose of 150 mg AT1001 (migalastat HCl, GR181413A) administered orally to healthy subjects with normal renal function and to subjects with mild, moderate, and severe renal impairment.
NCT01653379
This is an open-label, dose-ranging study of the vitamin D analog DP001 in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The primary goals of this 4-week Phase 2A study are to identify an appropriate starting dose of DP001 to be used in subsequent studies in this population and for evaluation of pharmacokinetics of DP001 in ESRD patients.
NCT00561600
The primary objective of this investigation is to evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcomes of the ASR™-XL Acetabular Cup System compared to the Pinnacle™ Acetabular Cup with a 28mm or 36mm ULTAMET™ metal insert.
NCT02400346
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of brexpiprazole as adjunctive treatment in an elderly population with major depressive disorder and an inadequate response to antidepressant treatment
NCT01412424
MYCAPSSA™ (formerly Octreolin™) is a proprietary oral form of the approved injectable medical product octreotide used to treat acromegaly. This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of MYCAPSSA™ treatment in patients with acromegaly.
NCT01001299
This open-label single-arm study will evaluate the effect of RO5185426 \[RG7204; PLEXXIKON: PLX4032\] on the pharmacokinetics of five CYP450 substrates (caffeine, warfarin + vitamin K, omeprazole, dextromethorphan, midazolam) administered as a drug cocktail to patients with metastatic melanoma. The study will also evaluate efficacy and safety of RO5185426. On day 1, patients will receive the drug cocktail. On days 6 to 19, patients will receive RO5185426 twice daily. On day 20, patients will receive RO5185426 and the drug cocktail and on days 21 to 25, patients will receive RO5185426. Assessments will be made at regular intervals during the dosing periods and at follow-up. Patients may continue on study treatment (RO5185426) until the development of progressive disease or unacceptable toxicity. Target sample size \<50.
NCT01751594
The proposed research study aims to conduct a culturally-based secondary prevention intervention targeted toward HIV-positive Black young men who have sex with men (B-YMSM) to explore (1) feasibility and acceptability (Trial 1 and Trial 2) and (2) evidence of potential efficacy (Trial 2). The primary outcomes will be health promotion behaviors (i.e., treatment adherence, sexual risk reduction, reduction in substance use behaviors, and HIV status disclosure). Psychosocial factors (i.e. self-esteem, critical consciousness, and socio-political awareness) will be examined as secondary outcomes.
NCT02788617
This prospective study will evaluate the efficacy of Diafert as an adjunct to morphological assessment in predicting embryos' potential to develop to the blastocyst stage on Day 5.
NCT00099203
This 2 arm study will compare the efficacy of intravenous Bondronat with that of zoledronic acid in patients with malignant bone disease experiencing moderate to severe pain. Patients will be randomized to receive either Bondronat (6mg iv on days 1, 2 and 3 and then every 3-4 weeks) or zoledronic acid (4mg iv on day 1 and then every 3-4 weeks). The anticipated time of study treatment is 6-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT02471222
This is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 2-arm, parallel group study of ADS-5102 extended release (ER) capsules, an investigational formulation of amantadine, dosed once daily at bedtime for the treatment of walking impairment in MS. ADS-5102 is designed to be administered once daily at bed time, ADS-5102 achieves higher plasma amantadine concentrations in the early morning, sustained throughout the afternoon, and lower concentrations in the evening when patients are sleeping. ADS-5102 is designed to deliver its primary treatment effect during the day, and potentially reduce the adverse events of immediate-release amantadine when the patient is asleep.
