NCT00002577
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be surgically removed.
NCT00028353
If you are a male 30 years of age or older and have a positive diagnosis of high grade (II or III) prostate Intraepithelial Neoplasia (PIN) or have had an abnormal/suspicious prostate biopsy, you may be eligible for this study. This is a study of an investigational medication that may reduce high grade PIN and prevent the occurrence of prostate cancer. This study is currently enrolling up to 500 men at approximately 60 locations in the United States.
NCT00003591
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy plus paclitaxel in treating patients who have nonmetastatic, unresectable pancreatic cancer.
NCT00006444
The purpose of this study is to see how often human papillomavirus (HPV) occurs in HIV-infected women who have not taken anti-HIV drugs and to learn whether taking anti-HIV drugs will affect HPV in women. HIV infection increases the risk of getting HPV infection. Findings suggest that HIV infection as well as a weakened immune system may increase the chances of getting HPV. Aggressive anti-HIV medication has been shown to strengthen the immune system. Researchers want to learn whether anti-HIV drugs affect the HPV virus or decrease the chances of getting HPV. This study is important because it may provide important information to help manage a woman's health and to determine a woman's risk for developing problems with the cervix (outer end of the uterus).
NCT00296660
The purpose of this study is to collect data and body fluid samples from people with acute or established HIV infection and from HIV uninfected people. Data from this study will be used to better understand properties of HIV, including HIV transmission and the differences between acute and established HIV infections.
NCT00082199
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn whether subjects treated with aripiprazole are able to abstain from alcohol use for a greater number of days than subjects treated with placebo. The safety of using aripiprazole will also be studied.
NCT00617019
The purpose is to explore the frequency of impulse control disorders in Parkinson's patients treated with different Parkinson's medications.
NCT00615563
The primary objective of this trial was to assess the presence of susceptibility to tipranavir and other ARVs of the HIV-1 isolates in treatment experienced patients. The secondary objective was to examine clinicians' use of HIV drug resistance testing in treatment experienced patients currently failing a PI based HAART regimen.
NCT00095511
The purpose of this trial is to test the safety \& efficacy of aripiprazole in patients with Bipolar Mania for a period of at least 12 weeks.
NCT00254852
The purpose of this study is to compare Optecure™ as an autograft extender (treatment) to autograft alone (control) in patients undergoing 1 or 2 level fusion of the lumbar spine(one level is defined as two adjacent vertebrae), L2 and below. The primary endpoint will be the assessment of fusion by evaluation of x-rays taken following surgery at each visit. The x-ray evaluation will be conducted by a radiologist who is blinded to the type of treatment each patient has received. Subjects will be seen at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months postoperative (post-op). Questionnaires and x-rays will be completed at each visit and a computed tomography (CT) scan will be taken at the 12 month visit(and used to aid in assessment of bridging bone, where appropriate).
NCT00080470
This clinical trial is being conducted to investigate the safety and effectiveness of a new device designed to treat urinary urge incontinence in those patients who have tried and failed two or more conservative therapies.
NCT00024518
This study will see if interferon-alpha given early in the disease can stop or slow the immune attack on insulin-producing cells. In addition, the study will examine the safety and efficacy of interferon-alpha (given by mouth) to protect beta cell function. Patients between 3 and 25 years of age with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus less then six weeks may be eligible for this study. All study-related tests and medications at the NIH Clinical Center are provided at no cost.
NCT00208741
The main purpose of this study is to determine how safe and effective Gabitril is for outpatients with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD).
NCT00930787
Support of a ventral hernia repair with a prosthetic mesh has been demonstrated to result in a diminished rate of hernia recurrence. The patient with co-morbidities undergoing hernia repair is at increased risk of wound related complications, which may be exacerbated by the choice of prosthetic mesh, and which are known to influence the ultimate rate of hernia recurrence. It is hypothesized that patients receiving a mesh of biologic origin may experience fewer wound related complications and hence at least an equal rate of hernia recurrence, compared to those receiving a synthetic mesh.
NCT00095719
The purpose of this trial is to test the safety \& tolerability of intramuscular aripiprazole in acutely agitated patients diagnosed with Dementia.
NCT01590641
Dose cohorts may be dosed with one of up to 4 possible total weekly doses (0.3 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 4 mg). Dose escalation or repetition will be governed by pre-specified safety and activity rules. Subjects will be confined on either days 1-3 or days 1-3 and 8-10. Follow-up visits are also required periodically through day 43, and potential viral load follow-up visits at weeks 3 and 6 months post last dose. Study procedures involve blood draws for pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, virologic, and safety assessments
NCT00002631
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. It is not known whether high-dose radiation therapy is more effective than standard dose radiation therapy in treating cancer of the esophagus. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus high- or standard-dose radiation therapy in treating patients with cancer of the esophagus.
NCT00877279
This study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of Belotero® Soft compared to active comparator in the correction of mild facial wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds.
NCT01129531
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of AGN-214868 in patients with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) - nerve pain.
NCT00410202
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of entecavir plus adefovir combination therapy versus entecavir monotherapy or therapy with adefovir plus lamivudine
